Claymore how is this explained , this 48.5 mgh is one rx480 which was hashing before with 28.5 mgh , now it is 48.5 , obviously it is not real , but it is hashing for hour with no errors and even after restart of the miner it is the same , even dual mining? Could it be this samsung ddr that when clocked lies the miner  that it hashes fast , but in reality it is not , that is why effective hashrate is lower 30% ! I see on all my machines with samsung ddr that has this low effective hashrate! The micron ones and the r9 390 machines don`t have this low effective hashrate!

Of course this is not real hashrate for RX480. Probably you modified bios/clocks too much and now that card is crazy.
Actually it is  the same bios and same setting for over a month , may be a windows update made it crazy like this! Just wondering why there no errors and even hwinfo don`t detect gpu errors! Very strange?

one thing you may want to edit out your TV number as someone can possible use that to try to log into your pc.. altho they would have to guess the random password..

another thing, aside what the software says, what does the pool say your hash rate is? its probably just reporting wrong and mining the same speed as the other cards.

Thanks for the tip!
I will stop all other cards and leave only this one to see , but the pool is so slow in statistics!

Hi.

I was able to launch Genoil's miner on Windows 10 and GTX 970 with the latest drivers (382.53) by setting "Optimize for Compute Performance" to On for that app in Nvidia Control Panel as described here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvD57PyEJz8

This gave me 20MH/s instead of ~3MH/s without the ned to downgrade the drivers. But this only works with Genoil's miner in OpenCL mode.

Guy in the video successfully runs Claymore's miner too.

For some reason for (not only) me with Claymore's miner and "Optimize for Compute Performance" enabled I get:

CUDA error 0 #102 - 46
CUDA error 0 #103 - 46
CUDA error 0 #105 - 46
...
CUDA error - cannot allocate big buffer for DAG. Check readme.txt for possible solutions.
...
GPU 0, CUDA error 46 - cannot write buffer for DAG
...

Here's the description of what "Optimize for Compute Performance" does
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4370/~/what-does-the-setting-optimize-for-compute-performance-do%3F

What could be the reason?

Claymore Dual Miner Windows version + Windows 10 + Dual Mining Sia From Miningpoolhub, Receipt For Miner Hang

The program will stuck ,console not updating,  every one or two hour.

If I set automatically reboots via -r 1, it doesn't reboots automatically,
I have to press enter on the miner,
then it says SC the connection timed out and will go ahead to reboot.

The same thing happens on both of my windows 10 rigs.

Linux version, with miningpoolhub, never had such problem.

Is this known problem?
It is wired connection.

Here's the description of what "Optimize for Compute Performance" does
Is it works only for Windows 10? Or Windows 7 is fine too? I cant find the "Optimize for Compute Performance" option in NVCP on my Win7.

It's undervolted but not overclocked, this might be the issue, will try.
Checked the log, it does say

1e0   checkread timeout

and hang, what does this error msg mean?

From FAQ:

- Miner freezes if I put cursor to its window in Windows 10 until any key is pressed. Sometimes miner freezes randomly until any key is pressed.
You should make some changes in Windows:
  https://superuser.com/questions/555160/windows-command-prompt-freezing-on-focus
  https://superuser.com/questions/419717/windows-command-prompt-freezing-randomly?rq=1
  https://superuser.com/questions/1051821/command-prompt-random-pause?rq=1

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

Lets say I have a rig with 2x1080Ti mining Skein with CCMiner. Can I add AMD card so this rig and mine ETH with Claymore at the same time?

I want CCminer use Nvida cards and Claymore use AMD cards.

Is that possible?

If you have the latest Nvidia drivers installed and there's no "Optimize for Compute Performance" option, it is possible that this option is only in driver for Windows 10.

Anyway, I'm not sure if Windows 7 users need this option as they don't have a problem that Windows 10 users faces that the speed is only ~3.5MH/s.

yep.  buy a new card if you want to mine ETH.  Your card only has 2Mb.  it's not enough.

(BTW - this is a prime example of the same question being asked over and over.  a look just a few pages back and you would see the same answers)

Time to sell out??

I brought a RX470 a few months ago for AU$270.. now looking online all cards that are good for mining are sold out everywhere.  and now RX470 cards are selling for around AU$350 on ebay.  I'm trying to judge the perfect time to sell the GPU and just use that money to buy Ethereum.

If I sell the card now I could buy 0.8 ethereum, which would otherwise take 3 months to mine and after 3 months the difficulty would be such that the card is pretty useless anyway..  check the calc here: http://www.mycryptobuddy.com/EthereumMiningCalculator

For my XFX RX470 I have set to underclock and undervolt to 0.86v which reduced the power from 80w to 65w.   Currently getting 22Mh/s

Also configured to run on task scheduler with windows startup since windows updates kept stopping my miner.  Guide here: https://www.stephenmann.net/ethereum-mining

Why not mine ETC instead ?  The difficulty isn't that high yet? It's slowly going up in price.

When miner works with 1070 rigs pc freezes too much. I couldn't see anything that use too much cpu or ram in task manager. But if I enable intel graphic card and make it primary vga for windows there is no problem.
Can you help about it?

I use pool dwarfpool and i have e-mail send when miner stop.
dwarfpool setting for e-mail is   : write email instead password.
Claymore readme:  parameter password is  -epsw
My setting is   -epsw xxx@xx.xx   but when miner stop (crash) nothing happens. Miner not work hour and not e-mail send.
Why?

My mail from dwarf ended up in spam. Have you checked there?
I checked- no nothing in spam.

I would not sell it, and keep it mining as it's really profitable now... time will tell, but ETH may go even higher Wink

Nice calculator. Also try this one:

Have fun!
