Finally have my first "good" day solo mining.  Been running solo for 6 days and today is the first day I met or exceeded the earnings calculator estimate.  It is hard to be patient and mine daily and watch the numbers come up way short of the estimates.

I will let this run through the rest of the week and then decide if I am going to go back to pool mining.  It is good to finally get good numbers, but I had to run quite a long time to get a decent day, and it no way makes up for all of those very low or dry/empty handed days.  So we will see what happens.  One thing about solo mining is every day is a surprise.   Wink

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Eth classic now monero classic. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1600638

What next usd classic?  Huh

Ignore these idiots. Ethereum exists for a reason. Because the neo-ethereum devs betrayed their principles for the sake of convenience. No such analogue exists for monero.

Go forth and bare witness.

I think you mean "bear witness"....bear as in "carry".

You guys have moral high ground in every imaginable way. Infinitely higher.

Amen.

Hey, Anon, are you the guy that sent me an 11 oz silver ingot when I bought some of your silver assets back in the NXT days?  Did you do lot of silver ingot pours?

Looks like the source code for the latest version of Geth is out there for use and testing...

https://github.com/ethereumproject/go-ethereum/releases/tag/Source-Release

Quote
Geth ETC release/1.4.11 source is now available for early use and testing, please create a detailed report if any issues are found.

This release has solved all reported issues relating to blockchain syncing, now the client is capable of of both detecting peers and disconnecting ETF peers connected for the purpose of blockchain syncing. The associated geth ETF 1.4.11 release has removed support for both [eth/61] and [eth/62] protocols since ETF clients can only fully operate with clients released after the hard-fork. Since ETC clients are able to fully operate with existing clients on the network, only [eth/61] has been deprecated, leaving [eth/62] and [eth/63].

Geth ETC is now capable of loading configurations relating all forks associated to the active genesis block and defining support for either side of a network split. Additional steps will be taken to detect network splits, and optionally manage and switch between either side of a network split with utilizing configurations instead of the existing implementation of hard coded parameters and hard-coded network split enforcement within protocol handshaking.

The geth ETC release/1.4.11 signed builds will be made available if there are no major issues are reported in the next 24-48 hours. This release will be followed by the first 'official' release of Mist using the 1.4.11

I was so sure "bear" was the way it was supposed to be. That's the way I typed it first. Then google auto fill mislead me. Ill go and fix it.

Woah! You have one of my pours? That's so random and cool. No I didn't end up doing very many. The service never really took off. A few random people have some. I have a few left. And my daughter has the best one I ever produced.

I am going to go out on a limb here and state publicly that I think everyone is going to reflect back on this time and ask themselves "why didn't I go all in?"

sorry but that isnt smart... i'm suporting etc but the doubt is clear. this can go well but can go wrong too, so why go "all in" like you said.
it isnt smart to invest in ETH, but it isnt smart to go "all in" in ETC just like isnt to any other coin.

ps: im buy etc, just not going "all in".

That came across different than I meant it, I was referring to making the decision to support and to jump in if your holding back due to all the FUD.  I was referring to straddling the fence mostly.  Too many people listening to the nonsense and I think they are going to end up regretting it.

its ok Longsnowsm we know what you mean.  And thank you for your contribution.  I think that people understand what EthereumClassic is about by now.  They are now worried over the Dao Attacker, who can get his/her hands on the ETC part of the Dao funds in 9 hours time.  Even though it is less than 10%!

If the Dao Attacker is part of the foundation they will sell hard however, they may have become a Classic fan!  Why not?
There is a growing body of people that would choose Classic over Foundation Coin.

If the Dao Attacker is not part of the foundation they may very well be a supporter already!

The word "classic" gets people in a fluster
(however, i like the idea of Monero Classic and may look into it further. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1600638)

Today we get to find out!  However: it could get bloody messy too, but we have survived this far and i can see use coming through this ok too.

I can afford to lose my stake without any major issue,  I would be a bit peed off over the time i have already put in though, can't get that back!  Oh well, You have to speculate to accumulate.   Wink

What next usd classic?  Huh

If the dollar forks, both chains will fail.  However, I think the monero classic idea has legs!

It is good for devs to fear the users ability to use the "open source" software to compete with the main chain.  It will make them less arrogant.  Maybe i should not tar all devs with same brush.   Maybe I have been around the foundation too long!  Huh

But good to see the small guy give it a go.  However, it just goes to show, we lead the way.

Both the address on this transaction are subject to replay attack.  Put the address in here and check  https://etherx.com/

The explorer you are using is for eth.  The one i give is for ETC.

If you are not careful, coin spent on ETH will also take effect on ETC coin and vice versa.  (and it  burns high gas to do it too)

You must get different addresses for eth and etc.  I cannot speak for ETH but we have this sorted on ETC.

Get yourself new wallets.  There is a large post about it on most of the pages of this thread.  It has the latest wallets and explorers, forums, and the like I will post it next

(i don't like using the abbreviation “etc” for “et cetera” any more)   Lips sealed

If you choose the "light" or the "Google" wallets, you can use them without waiting to sync.

Good luck!
