Somebody linked to this a while ago -- it's still worth viewing: Winklevoss Twins Explain Bitcoin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oGuKEazS5oIf they were to be spokesmen for the industry and explain Bitcoin to the world -- then few would understand Bitcoin, interest would evaporate and KNC would fade into non-existence. On the other hand -- maybe it's better that somebody clueless explain Bitcoin -- to keep it under the radar. Beware of Experts.

Go back to 0.98.1, it's more reliable for many. Most people abandonded 0.99 as a lame duck.
98.1 beta seems to be the best in my book.. I run that on both of my 5 board Neptunes (or whatever we want to call them) the newer cgminers are starting to have better features though, so hopefully we will be able to take those and run them on 98.1 beta (unless there are some new files in .99 that I needs that I am not aware of) any idea where i can download the 0.98.1 beta firmware? EDIT: never mind, sorry - i see the link now one page back!

The interviewer dubbed it an explanation...truth be known, Bitcoin really can't be explained in 3 minutes... The Winklevoss Twins are Geniuses... and did us all a huge favor saying mining as a hobby isn't worth it. They seem to think BTC will go beyond 40Grand a coin within the next couple years...I'm inclined to agree. Just my 2cents

AND....Single Rail!!!! Do yourself a HUGE Favor.. don't get a multi-rail PSU....PLEASE!

Hey has there been any info about special deals for gen 1 /batch 1 buyers in the future?
I'm sure they promised us special consideration for buying the gen 1 stuff and getting this party started....any deals on future hardware offerings?
My Saturn has paid for itself 1.5x over and I want to get something more powerful.
Let's hear about some gen 2 hardware specials...maybe something in the 2TH range?
Or send us an email with a coupon....I'd probably jump on that even if it was a pre-order.

I use that PSU on a Jupiter. I put each module on a separate rail. It's worked flawlessly so far. I'm confident it will work fine with Nov. units as well.

I had mistakenly thought the new module was running cooler than the original in my Merc. Realizing the new module at 55°C might run better if cooled like the original running at 34°C and having two Antec 3 speed 120mm fans with 4 grills, I put one either side of the new module, just plugging into the 4 pin molex but that glitched and putty disconnected so I rebooted. Here I ran into trouble. The BBB couldn't get a connect. No bright white light, no red/green. It may have been the 3 speed switch on the fans. If those are SCRs perhaps the noise disturbed the BBB. I ended up running the two Antec fans from a nearby supply not associated with the Merc. Now it's back up and running all cores 37.5° and 34.5°C 285GH/s.

Well I'll put one more vote in for the .981 being better than .99
It's been running for 3days now with exactly 4Gh/s lower than .981 so i guess it's time to switch back.
one question about switching firmware:
Do you guys wait until a block is found before stopping your machines to upgrade?

Meh, I just "go for it" with multiple machines, the connection to the pool, and hashing never stops tho... so the pool doesn't ever assume you are "poolhopping"

If you are on a hop-proof pool it makes no difference when you choose to have down-time. On a hoppable pool it is best to wait until you are in an unlucky round. If you are solo mining it makes no difference.

OK everyone: from now on if you have a problem with your VRM please grab your heatsinks with both hands and start twisting, then do a voodoo dance while naked. That should do the trick

Tuning Suite any time soon? Now with the team busy on the next production run any chance of us seeing it in the next few weeks? 'Orama please sir? What is the potential of the suite? Got the gear in the garage now that its cold out, would love to start overclocking it while the weather is favorable. Joe it's pretty much ready, it's being tested to male sure range wise it's doesn't compromise your hardware and create RMA hell. As I said before it's a matter of days, not weeks!
