Those caps look as if they didn't get much flux, and knocked-off fairly easy, and clean. Most of The caps in the pics look like they would solder right back on. Most of the components which came loose look re-usable even, although some look like garbage. The boards are pretty beefy, and the solder points are large. I bet a good portion of the PCB's could be fixed with minimal effort, while others are not. Someone should head up a group buy effort, and hire a bulk repair shop to whip them out. once they see how simple the repairs actually are, it may be worth the effort... just sayin'. some place like this.... http://sybesmas.com/site/ could make easy work of a stack of those boards the only way it would make sense is to set up a mineral oil vat so you can you ditch the cost of heatsink/fans and dealing with heat and then make octofrankenjupiter where you have 48 boards in a vat and stash it in an old barn next to a powertower that you tap into for free and of course set up a hotspot wireless zone there too |

Just never powered up. I can see if I can work out a deal with him if anyone wants to have their boards fixed. Price seemed fair @ $40.00 per board... |

I claim to posess the skills to repair them also. There are people who like to solder everywhere. The issue is trust, hand carry local and trust is high. Ship them anywhere and shit could get out of hand easily. I'd want a working board for my efforts, but I know what the potential is, where a local lab rat may not. Even though I'd love to even get a few hours hands on on a Nov board I recommend a local 'while you wait' repair if possible. I suggest avoiding dudes making claims on threads! (yes that includes me) YMMV  |

Never seen the place, but I'm pretty sure they're using a lot of temp agency for rework jobs. In this area, some businesses would spend 10 cents to save a nickel. I did some solder work recently near here. I'm not saying that you don't have a good idea, I just wouldn't send it to SW Michigan. |

If it were me, I'd have been to Radio shack getting supplies to try the moment I found out they didn't want them back for RMA... I actually have a "magic" cold heat pen that would be perfect for this job like this... I highly recommend it for beginners. http://science.howstuffworks.com/cold-heat.htmHell, I bet I could just lay one of those caps back in its place, wet with flux and use a crude butane iron to touch that solder with and be done. But the cold heat pen is really quick and easy, clean, and way safer. Vrms.... good luck. I'd trash those pcb's probably, but you may find a source and the skill... that's where I'd "draw the line" personally *On a different note tho... the way those came loose so easily, even wrapped tightly in bubble-wrap leads me to logically deduct two distinct Possible causes... 1. The soldering points were not done properly... like a shortage of flux or not enough heat. ---OR --- 2. The component connections became brittle after being used at high temperature for an extended period of time. But... then we have the hostname reports saturn-NNN posted in the forum, which pretty much puts it into possibility fact 2, with the added possibility of #1 still. Which could only mean one thing in my mind... they pulled all that equipment off the shelf at Boden to make SuperJupiters. The facts just say so. |

Think i was one of the first CA orders (#115XX) and one of the last that requested a refund. It hurts my tiny miner heart a little bit but it was to much mess here and no possibility to ROI the amount of refunded BTC with my electricity price.  We'll see us again in the next winter - when KnC is still here (i hope so) and learned from the mistakes. |

BTC offered & not accepted, waiting for CASH
Although i'm now considering BTC just to get it over & done with
Personally, I would just take the BTC and be done with it. There is always the risk (although very small) that this could get "goxed" Cheers |

Just think they'll need some longer for the Neptunes or they don't bring many more then 3TH. Why not accepting a BTC refund and sell it then for your CASH? |

Asked for BTC refund on 28 April for a very early CA batch order. Emailed them every 2 days. This Monday they said, we will process your refund early week. Yesterday i wrote them, only answer. Sry you get your coins in afew days <----i mean WTF?? Wrote back that i cant take this serious, thats no answer! Respond was, sry cant tell you more, ask the manager but he will tell you the same. I wrote now sam directly, i dont hope anything Still no refund or answer incoming! |

Got refund today(sorry guys, who still did not get it yet).
Talked to Liam (thanks, Liam!)
Requested refund on April 8, changed to BTC on April 29, got it on May 9.
If you call, be polite, ask nicely even if you were waiting for a while.
Tip: do not talk to Nicollete, she is very very stressed (I think that she is on the other site-Boden??-quality of phone connection to her was very poor).

Just spoke to Liam too - as expected no useful information as to why there is such a huge delay, but I asked him when was the last USD refund processed and he said last week. He also said that there were no USD refunds processed this week, which is worrying Again no information of why the financial department is busy and what exactly they are busy with. |

My guess is that they already have the Neptunes and are upgradung their datahall first. Once they're done with that they'll ship out the rejects from the data hall to their serfs in late summer or fall. I don't think you'll see you Titaanics until Feb of next year. They'll be running them in their data hall first. Yeah, that's how they do ya and you know you like it.
