Neptune Miners in production/shipping phase...
From Kurt...

Hi,

We are currently in the production and shipping phase with the Neptune miners and our main priority and focus is on shipping the miners to customers as quickly as possible. Due to this extremely busy period the processing of refunds will be taking longer.

However we can assure you that we will process all refund requested according to the date and time the request was made and issue the refund as soon as physically possible.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

It's in a shipping phase while there is NO word on its actual capabilities sush hash speed, etc. This is very strange. I have never seen a situation like this.
I am quite curious what Neptune can do.

I don't think that should be taken literally, unless anyone with a batch one order has seen there's change to in progress, shipping, or shipped etc I wouldn't class it as being "in progress"

And an official update...

https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-94

Neptune In Assembly.

We’re pleased to announce touch-down of the first batch of our new 20 nanometer Neptune processors. They are now going through the testing/tweaking/assembly stage in Sweden and shipping will commence this week.

A World First 20-Nanometer Design
The Neptune is a formidable technological achievement. It is the first commercially available 20 nanometer processor shipped to end users. KnCMiner can take pride in beating all competitors to the 20nm stage, including the likes of Intel, Apple and Samsung.

The Neptune is a 1440-core 55x55 mm package tailor-made for the Bitcoin market. Each Neptune consists of 5 chips and comes in new sturdier enclosure and packacing. Using the speed offered by a true 20nm die process each Neptune churns out more than 3 TH/s while consuming only 2.1 KW at the wall. That works out to 0,7 watts per GH/s or less.

However, there are margins built into our design and the software running our chips can only improve from today on. All future software updates to raise the hashing speed will be free of charge.

Software Updates
We've reached our initial targets on speed and power consumption. But as this is the first day we’ve had the Neptune in our lab our technicians have already implemented a few tricks to increase hashing speed and we’ll release updates to our firmware shortly.

The first two batches of the Neptune miner is all sold-out. Batch three is available for pre-order now in our web shop. Watch this space for more info on upcoming products based on our new state-of-the-art 20nm design process.

We expect to ship to Batch 1 pre-order customers this week and to Batch 2 pre-order customers before the end of the month.

I was looking int purchasing some of these a while ago. Is it worth still buying from KNCMiner in the next batches after all the commotion that is occurring?

20nm  @  ~0.7W/GH

Talk about a fail.

On another note: I really hope there's more than one (1) 6-pin PCI-E plug per box.

Huh, well well well.... Guess I was right about 20nm tape-out times huh Avenger?
All those nasty comments about how I didn't know what I was talking about, and here they are only a few days later.
That's okay, I forgive you; but I'll take this opportunity to say: "Hahahahahahaa... what a troll"

Those are enclosures with fans only. No electronics it seems. Okay, might be in assembly but if they're shipping by the end of this week, why no specs so people can get power supplies? Something still isn't right with all this.

Nice, but my Batch 1 preorder was $13200, which is $4/GH-no bargain. However, KnC could increase market share if they want by being price flexible.
3TH machine from the stock NOW for $4000-4499 would be attractive (I realize that this is impossible until they fulfill batch 1 and 2).
Batch 3 is still overpriced considering that it will be shipping in a month and a half. You can get 3TH for ~6K easily right now (one and a half month early).
