is it better to buy 1 GTX 1080 than 2 GTX 1060?

Depends how you calc.. and how many you are thinking of buying.

From my perspective 1070's gives me the most bang for fiat right now.

1 1080 = 540~ sol/s (oc) "180w" 700$~? (I'm not updated in $/€ prices)
2 1060 = 600~ sol/s (oc) "240w" 450$~?

You're welcome!

Prices and use may be different around the world, but I try to upgrade with one rig at the time. I'm always looking for special offers and discounts, gpu's and psu's being the most expencive in a setup, lots of fiat to save by waiting for a good deal.

From page 49 you can read all about this, and a reply from dev.

Always download from source (links on page 1), and always run miners in a non sensitive controlled environment. Just a tip, happy mining  Cheesy

any one with zotac 1060 mini? whats the hashrate? any heat issues? only 1 fan.
Would also like to know. Getting cheaper in my country. 1060 seems to be pretty cool compared to 1070 and 1080

I bought one 1060-mini to test it out, and it performed almost the same as a dual-fan card. Almost.. I found it hard to control the heat from a "max out OC", it was running too hot and too stressed out for my likings. Then again I did not test it fully out with normal clocks or under clock (I was not going to use it that way). I swapped mine for a dualfan and since that I bought 24 more 1060's. Rock solid setup, 5 cards pr rig and they are running maxed out OC with ver. 0.2.0b  miner, and they are using "solver 0", temps 65-68c. 300~5 sol pr card (3bg) are my results and exp with the 1060's.

Thanks. Will go for the dual fan.

I must add: I'm in a cool environment, and have very good ventilation where the rigs are located.

No such command yet.
You can control temp through MSI Afterburner when you install the Fan Control app that comes with it.

Thanks for the quick reply. More question Smiley

1) What driver version do I need for Palit GTX 1060 3g StormX to use EWBF efficiently?
2) Can I use window 7 as my operating system? Also can window 7 support 6 GPU GTX 1060?

Thanks in advance...

3gb 1060 runs @ 300 sol? Not too shabby! How many sol's at factory speeds?

0.3.0.b is at least a 5% increase for me (GTX 960). Thanks!

Edit: looks like a 7.5% improvement.
