Do you feel shameful for being a gambler?

For me I don't feel to be ashamed for being a gambler because I gamble my own money that I earned and worked for it. Unless I am gambling my parent's money I will be ashamed for it. This question depends on your own perspective about gambling.

There's nothing be ashamed of if we are risking our very own hard earned money. Those people who are using other people just to satisfy their gambling addiction and doesn't have their own money to gamble are the ones who should be ashamed of. We work hard, we earn and we enjoy, depending on your enjoyment if that is with gambling.

Is hard for me to tell a friend's or family about my activity in gambling, they will say gambling is bad activity and gambler is people who don't have attitude, not only gambling when I say have trading activity they will be say same too. But for me will be shameful when I got addiction on gambling and try every ways to still gambling and use money for daily live, when we still can control and not being addicted it's will be ok.

in fact  in most of the societies gambling is consider as bad activity may be because of its addicted attitude, and people in such societies do not treat to such people with honour, therefore such people feel shame when people people know about their gambling activities. therefore to me i think online gambling is the best solution for that. as one can play anonymously and no one will know about hi identity and therefore he will never fell sham for it.

Yeah right and actually it is considered as a poor activity because doing gambling means that person cannot earn money via hard work or does not have the commitment of doing so. In both the ways its quite pity.

While someone like me who is doing a good job and earning cool then doing gambling the society respects me. It is all about money guys, believe me. You have money you get respect no matter if you even are a robber !

So why gamble if it is shameful in your part? aside from that it is forbidden by in where you are situated... Also your parents too, they don't want you to gamble, why not obey them so you'll have a happy life without hiding anything from them and from the society... IMO, if it is forbidden in where I am, I'd rather stop than violating the rules... I'd rather use my time and money in useful things that could make me more money...

That's very nice. I am in the same situation like you but my parents still accept me to gamble because I have some evidence prove that gambling is good for me. And thanks to Bitcoin, right now I am able to gamble without worrying about the government or the police because there is no way they can arrest me for gambling. And no one can criticize me.

I am not ashamed of gambling, the only shame i exhibit is when i lose, i think of other things i could have used the money for but eventually i recoup my money and make even more profit. Well if you are taking loan from others are using that money to gamble, then its wrong ?

WHY MAN because the money once you take is yours and nothing wrong in that since you yourself said that gambling with own money is fine. And once you have taken money then its absolutely your money and you can spend it the way you want as long as you intend to pay the money back.

No I don't feel ashamed when gambling because I am not really doing it fulltime I Just do it to have fun and make additional profit if lucky and besides I am not betting there money It is Just my bitcoins so why should I feel ashamed about that?

The actual thing is playing gambling isn't a bad activity unless you do and you are under with your addiction to do wrong things just to play gambling anything you will do.
I not hide my gambling activity from now and then but i used to tell lies if i am going out to gamble .I am not a proud gambler also i am only a quite one and i doesn't matter for me if someone around me knows that i am gambling as long as i do not abuse myself to play .

I don't feel shameful for knowing how to gamble. It's a normal thing in the society now. There are worse types of people like prostitutes, illegal drugs seller, etc. which mostly don't even feel any shame on what they're doing. Relatively, gambling isn't that bad of activity although it would depend on how much time and money you spend on gambling.

Same here knowing how to gamble does not necessarily makes one a gambler.  Even if I am a gambler as long as i do not affect other people negatively and not ruined my life I have no reason to be ashame.  And gambling is not a shameful act.  Other people are just hypocrite.  Like some organization who hates gambling very much and yet they use lottery as mode of fund raising .

Yeah I think you're right there. People's views about gambling depends on how a gambler handles himself and his gambling ways. if a certain gambler has gambling affecting his or her life that much that it compromises other important things like his job or his family, then definitely people would view that as a negative effect of gambling. and that would be shameful for both himself and his family.

Sometimes I also feel like an idiot after spending money in gambling, but it's the same feeling when you spend time on other similar recreational stuff. Sometimes when I go out I ask myself why I wasted all that money and I should have stayed home, but sometimes the fun is worth it.

Sometimes I also feel like an idiot after spending money in gambling, but it's the same feeling when you spend time on other similar recreational stuff. Sometimes when I go out I ask myself why I wasted all that money and I should have stayed home, but sometimes the fun is worth it.

The feeling of regret usually happen after every event especially when we lose more than what we expect, but that should be accepted as it is our decision to gamble, we have to matured enough to accept our defeat so the next time we do it we will be able to do it right. Gambling is entertaining, we just have to do what is right to enjoy it, do the basic principles in gambling and you shall be fine.

As you mention religion than i agree with you, and i also know that in different religions not allow to play gambling, So that's point of view, i know some gamblers feel shame also family members are not allow to play gambling. But in society wise, many persons are play gambling even they do it professional level instead they religion allow them or not.

I don't think gambling is an illegal activities or something so I don't know why I should be shameful.It's my money and I think I have the right to do whatever I like.I know my few relative doesn't like gambling and try to stop me from gambling.But i don't care what they are saying.I love to do gambling and can't stop.

In some countries where gambling are legal there people do not feel any shame for playing gambling, they even playing gambling without hiding it from their parents and other family member. While in some area where gambling is not legal there people cannot play gambling openly, in such areas people also feel shame to play gambling.
