Well it was the first cryptocurrency ever created, so it is just normal the it is number 1 for now. But there is a lot of competition trying to solve the weakness of bitcoin. If bitcoin will fail to adopt in the future or if it fails to scale, there will be a chance another cryptocurrency will take its place. There are some good alt-coins coming out and under good developers with good road maps.

in fact still the number of bitcoin users are increasing compartively more than any other crypto currency.  that is why bitcoin is still number one crypto currency of the world.

Bitcoin become number one because crypto initially only bitcoin, then comes the other crypto called altcoin. Altcoin in principle is an alternative currency besides Bitcoin. Altcoin initially was digital code that uses Bitcoin program code. So I think it normal that bitcoin become number one because besides the first crypto, also has experience and more mature than other crypto. Bitcoin become crypto number one instead of his name but because the crypto first ones there and the market is more mature.

Not only this is the reason but it is also that the transactions are untraceable and no one can control the Bitcoin as it is free to use and it is universally accepted. So government dont want the currency which is not controlled by them.

In many ways Bitcoin is phenomenon that would be very hard to achieve and take its place. Though it has got several drawbacks that on bitcoin that I can be used for illegal needs to untraceable, the advantageous reason to use bitcoin is very high compared to other digital currency. This makes bitcoin stand first of all currencies and trying hard to become the global currency.
