i think name is not a big reason. it is all about the value of bitcoin that how high its price. if there is another coin whose price will high than people follow that coin .

Yes it is not about the name of the coin that attracts people to invest because it is all about the features and the price and if the have that high price then it will attract a lot of attention from other people in the crypto world plus if its have a great features then people will surely follow that coin and buy some of that coin for investment.

Bitcoin made it to the top because of its potential and growing users,  and as a trusted crypto currency because it is the first of its generation. years has passed but it still there and become more popular than before.

iF you look closely at the technology and see how everything runs in the couples of months, you will see that Bitcooin is not as potential as you think. More and more transactions are being unconfirmed and soon bitcoin will be replaced by another altcoinc

There is a chance it will happen. Bitcoin is getting slower in confirmation, it's time for altcoin to be one of  solutions for this case. Bitcoin has indeed attracted many investors and maybe that's factor. The more  use in transactions slower in  confirmation.

This is basically the right answer.
It all comes down to the community engagement and the community size, having both means you get a Bitcoin-like crypto, having one or the other with the other in smaller supply means you get something like LTC, DOGE or whatever. A larger community typically means that it will have more support across the board, and Bitcoin was first, so it gained the most recognition and grew before everything else had the time to develop.

What are you talking about? If the inventor of Bitcoin is not an open minded person, he cannot invest something as great as this. Also, there are pump and dump in the Bitcoin market. It's market is very volatile and always fluctuating.

There is no special reason to have bitcoin always the best. In my opinion no other currencies have gained the potential same as bitcoin and have experienced​ such a growth in the short time period. To attain the same dollar took years and years. In the falling years too some alts might give hard competence but won't take the place of bitcoin.

Whenever I read threads like this, I try to remind people of the dwindling dominance of Bitcoin. Perhaps, people can always refer to this site http://coinmarketcap.com before stamping that Bitcoin will forever remember number one. There is no practical reasons why bitcoin must always be the first. Of course it has a largest capitalization compare with altcoins. But even now bitcoin share reduces to its historical minimum of 50% among the total capitalization of the crypto-currencies.

It was the first crypto currency that was love by the majority, the decentralization was a unique idea of bitcoin and nowadays there are some altcoins who just copy the original concept of bitcoin that is why it cannot be beaten and although there are some new ideas that people may think better than bitcoin, they cannot beat bitcoin easily because it has already build through time and people have put their money on it already, especially the whales.

Bitcoin will  always be number 1, because it is already tested and reliable since it started. It has a large following already and a very active community. As of now it has market capital of $28,722,079,392 while XRP which comes second is only $9,305,262,879.
