For instance when I share about Bitcoin some of my friends think of it as some kind of web money which is correct, however if I mention Ethereum they think of it as some kind of mineral in the periodic table. You right every person who knows crypto or digital currency is certainly the most they know is bitcoin. I think it's natural because crypto created and developed first is bitcoin. So maybe I do not think it's because of the name, but because of the existence of bitcoin as the main crypto, it is the reason bitcoin always be #1. We do not believe Bitcoin is a good name...especially for a currency that tries to replace the current monetary system.

The name of the coins is irrelevant since it is the protocol that matter, however if bitcoin was called something like bitdollar then you can bet there could have been trouble with the US governments because of that.

Actually, there are some altcoins that are even better than bitcoin and I could honestly say that bitcoin is a bit backwards regarding of its feature if I compare to the altcoins have ever existed. Altcoins are existed to compete for bitcoin means it's supposed to have more features and meanwhile bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and the first inventor of its feature, the altcoins just developing the features that have already existed to be even better. And it proves that the feature doesn't make the coin number #1, just the people could make it.

I don't want to mention those because it's ain't altcoin discussion. Technology keeps on growing and the older one will always be developed or replaced for better purpose, don't be close minded person, there's so damn much altcoin comparison that's written either in form of discussion or article and yet those altcoins still have its own unique feature that keeps it different from other and indirectly making some sort of border.
And you're definitely wrong generalising that all of the altcoins is copycats of bitcoin whereas there's still some or I could say pretty decent amount of altcoins have been released recently building up its own system from scratch.
Have you seen the difference between ethereum and bitcoin? I guess not.

Maybe I'm not very knowledgeable person, but I'm always convinced that man is guided by the desire to make good money. Therefore, the goal of bitcoin developers was not only the creation of a blockchain, but also good money. You are right,all is on its first not only on the name but the uniqueness of the service that it gives to people.It would be always considered as number one on cryptocurrency even how many coins are being created.
Value would really a good indication as it remain on the top spot.I do have high hopes for bitcoin and for sure all users are thinking the same thing too.

One of the most important factors for bitcoin's success in wide adoption (and to remain 1st crypto) is to convince regular people that it bring any value for them. By 'regular' I mean no BTC/crypto enthusiasts, but people who would change some of their daily habits to start using BTC. I think, that at the moment most of the BTC market volume is being generated by speculative transactions and yes, on that field Bitcoin has a great potential. However I am a bit afraid if BTC will go out of it's actual niche, because of the network limitations (mostly related to transaction speed and fees)
