Bitcoin can't be always number one because there might a problem that will cause bitcoin to lose from the rankings. One of them is the speed of transaction which is getting slower and slower because of the increasing volume of the users and that is what we are facing now and developers should fix that problem soon or else people will get bored on bitcoin and find another valuable altcoin who can perform well or better than bitcoin. So we can't always think comfortably that bitcoin will be always number #1.

Bitcoin will stay #1 IMO, because history cannot be repeated. I mean by that the coin distribution the Satoshi story and the longevity. Disclaimer: This is only my point of view don't believe me

Nothing is wrong with the transaction speeds as they are near instant most of the times. I am sure you are referring to the confirmation times of transactions that are taking longer than usual. Increasing the block size is something that has been discussed for more than a year, but still there are no signs of reaching consensus among pools. If you also look at the level of support for segwit, then it's nearly obvious that we'll keep sitting at the 1MB block cap for the rest of the year.

Belief is the most key-aspect here. Even if you could have a better, more advanced and generally just more functional cryptocurrency, if you have people willing to crowd over your thing, you'll always remain relevant. Sort of like Apple, now while their product lines aren't the best spec'd, they have a large following and remain relevant to even non-hardcore fans because of said fans and whatever campaigns made to gather up new consumers / fans. They don't have to wildly go out of this world and make the best product to sell, they just need to appeal really well to their eco-system - in terms of bitcoin just some slight updates, the people mostly do the work here as new business ideas revolve around the willingness to use bitcoin - and ride on that lightning to snowball and get more and more willing players.

Yeah comparing to Apple, bitcoin has it is own consumers or better to says users and it always tend to preserve those users and bring more people at the same time and that is what really makes difference between bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that they just want to be as successful as bitcoin.

I also have no doubt that bitcoin is not able to be No. 1 in addition as only the main world currency will begin to go on the Internet think that they will supplant cryptocurrency. The only problem is the taxes. Not to pay them only when you use a cryptocurrency.

The reason that bitcoin will be #1 is that it will be recognize around the world as the only crypto-currency being accepted globally. With that, no one can compete against it in the crypto world. It will be also # 1 if it is mass adopted, meaning wherever you are in any part of the globe, you can used bitcoin to buy/sell and trade with it.

Yup, we have several cryptocurrencies in this world, but the other cryptos are not user friendly like Bitcoin. The other currencies some people don't know how to use and where to convert it into fiat currency. But Bitcoin is not like that, Bitcoin is illegal currency in all countries, but in all countries, BTC exchangers are there. We can convert BTC to fiat easily. That is why it is number one.

No I dont think that this is the reason.I think that reason is because it is best cryptocurrency and because this crypotocurrency is created first in world so it is hard now to beat that result  with new crpytocurrency but it is still possible.

Being created as 1st does really have an advantage and impact since its been first used by people and they got used to it thats why in the situation of bitcoin hes placed on the top but possibilities of getting replaced is there but i think it would take long time for someone to create will surpass bitcoin.

But what ever coin or project is coming that all is controlled by the developer and if they want they can scam anytime and sell all coins and run away like this they can cheat all the coin holders. Nothing is impossible. Bitcoin is now currently facing the slow transaction and the quadruple fees that will eventually make bitcoin doomed if it's not be resolved. People getting interested to bitcoin because as it has been repeated by many people here, low fees and instant, but if the problems above still exist and keeping up, I think people will lose their interest in bitcoin.

anonymity is the feature of bitcoin. It is not a reason for btc is been top. Bitcoin value is big reason why people been run behind it. I have read many companies were already adopted blockchain technology and they are doing research about it more. Even citi bank planned to create their first digital currency called citicoin. Don't how is gonna impact on bitcoin, but still bitcoin initial view for them in digital currency world.
