It's not about being perfect, it's about being popular. Most of the population don't even know about altcoins. They only know Bitcoin and it is a Bitcoin universe. Hope to get segwit soon for bitcoin and less problems in transactions. |

I wouldn't even say it's just from the name itself, it's from everything that Bitcoin has done and it's from being in the marketplace for innovation. It's just like the person who hits any market first is able to get brand name and loyalty from people to be able to control the market, so even if new innovations come along it won't hold such a high hold on people. Looking at Ether, it has such wonderful innovations when it comes to the coin itself but BITCOIN WAS FIRST.
If Bitcoin does innovate, they'll be able to put an even higher hold in the #1 position they so dearly hold.

maybe because it has a good name. for me the biggest factor that bitcoin will always be number one because. it is the one who makes a loud noise in the world of online crypto currency. im not sure if it is the first but it is the noisest. many people now uses online currencies. but the majority of it uses bitcoin even if there are also alt coins.

All things that bind bitcoin are based on the amount of volume they have, in this case bitcoin does come first and altcoin then appears as a loyal follower in hope that it will also be able to shake up more volume, but on the other side they cannot move independently because depending on bitcoin exchange of, but there are some great competitors in altcoin who have started proving themselves attracting enthusiasts as happened on eth/etc |

Should we start listing the reasons bitcoin will fail? It can't be updated, making it impossible to adapt. I could give you a long lists of ways it can't adapt but I doubt any in this forum will listen. I just hope when there are 1 million unprocessed transactions and enough double spend scams, btc doesn't bring down the whole cryptocurrency market.

I doubt btc will live that long but it couldn't survive quantum computers for sure. They will decrypt it in minutes. |

As long as there is community that continue supporting bitcoin then bitcoin can live for a long time because it is all about the support for the bitcoin, in market, in the network and also for the minor parts of bitcoin. It just need support and if bitcoin will have a continuous support then there is nothing to worry about the life span of bitcoin. |

Actually the main reason is that Bitcoin is the first cyrpto who introduce the cyrpto currency and tell to the world's people that is Bitcoin.
Than people started to trust it and use it and make money than continuously they are prefer the bitcoin to others. Even we see many other crypto currencies have come but people like and prefer bitcoin to other crypto.
