A4s are cheaper 280 mhs for 1000 it seems why buy an L3+ now
They both have a similar payback period. Bitmain priced the L3+ in LTC not USD, which allows one to take advantage of any weakness in the exchange rate. Another advantage to the L3+ is density.

You ain't seen nothing yet. That's after only one small batch has been released. Profit down 35% already. LTC profit will be down to $300.00 per month by October. I bet those poor bastards that paid $6,000.00 per unit from Amazon sellers are not feeling to good now. 2 years to pay the bastards off now. Yea I bought one of the last from the Sept 21-30 batch and Im hoping for less than 6mo to make back the 45 LTC it cost me.

I'm pretty sure it will take you at least 9 months to generate 45 LTC, if not longer!

They switch your scrypt miner to the current best profit coin. Might be a better option than straight LTC by then.

A4 is still 1400$, they just ask for 70% preorder ammount. So you have to pay 1000$ now, and 400$ when they are ready ship.

Could anyone tell me how many Amps 1 L3+ uses at the wall?

This is going to depend entirely on your voltage. amp = watt / volt amps = 800W / 120V = 6.667A amps = 800W / 230V = 3.478A

I'm debating if I want to bring 220V power or to leave it at 120V.

I misspoke, it's also dependent on the efficiency of your power supply. From that, you can get pretty close to what a Killawatt can tell you.
Per Bitmain's website: 800W +10% (at the wall, with Bitmain's APW3 PSU, 93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temperature)
It's always a better idea to run your miners with a PSU on 240v rather than 120v.

Is there any benefit running them on 240V vs 120V? I ordered Bitmain's APW3++ PSUs.

Hi Just a few questions on the AntMiner L3+.
I have recently got my two L3+ miners and have set them up. How many days would you recommend leaving them on before giving them a break? & How do you solo mine with them?
Thanks!
I have apartment by the lake, so You can send them on (at least) two weeks vacation there. I think You should do that during high season (now), so can rest and prepare for high difficulty mining.

Does anybody know if they are working on a machine to supersede the l3+ and when we can expect to see one go up for sale

You are pulling less amps from the breaker panel which means you can run multiple rigs on a single breaker. Also many PSUs are optimized for 240v so they run cooler and more efficiently. All this adds up to lesser chance of fire.

No one knows except bitmain. All we can do is make an educated guess.

No one knows except bitmain. All we can do is make an educated guess. Given the speed at which they pump out Bitcoin miners what are the intervals? i am new to the whole ASIC mining scene, my l3+ is due any day and as mentioned I am 1/2 tempted to sell it and wait for the new ones to release + invest extra into LTC stock.

No one knows except bitmain. All we can do is make an educated guess. If I had to bet my money on it, I'd say a better version should be released by the end of the year (maybe december announcement, then jan-feb shipment) efficiency is walling off Moore's law now so don't expect much though, this is basically the beginning of the plateau phase.
