Given that other buys around the same time period have their chips, I am assuming Steamboat has chips delivered?
For folks who have not refunded, are boards ready?
No status is not acceptable given chips should be in Steamboat's hands as of now...
What if you requested a refund weeks ago and did not receive it while others received theirs, and then SB receives chips and sends miners that will not ROI to you? To me that is the worse possible outcome since receiving a chip refund returns more BTC at this point. I hope SB honors people who requested refunds and doesn't ship to those. My worry is if some of us who requested refunds in time, still receive miners...

The more time that passes the more people are not going to want the boards.
Maybe Yifu is still busy scamming people and lied about sending the chips, if so maybe another round of demanding refunds from Yifu might be in order...
Even if they had arrived last week and been put on to boards over the weekend it might be too late, if they aren't even on boards yet or, worse, haven't even reached the assembly house to be put onto boards that is just crazy-insane and it'd maybe be better to just forget about even trying and just send the marines or sherrifs or whatever over to deal with Yifu's seemingly neverending propensity to lie and scam.

Personally I'd like to see the option to receive assembled boards without asics and no assembly/shipping refund. This is the only way I can see the parts being useful to me - I don't see anyone taking the time to divide the parts up and return them individually.
Once the gen2 chips come out, assembled boards without asics may well have some resale value, hopefully more than the current potential assembly refund offer (which I personally accept as reasonable under the circumstances).

seems to be about time for another update with no solid information...

I think snare rolls should be used as a currency.

This sounds like it would be a good option.

Meh. I'd much rather have the components than an assembled board without ASICs. At least I could potentially use some of the stuff on my electronics bench.

Yes, just fill out the form. Anyone wanting refunds are moved to the later batches, those holding steady are moved to earlier batches.

Received refund for 480 chips, thanks steam had no doubts about you and awaiting refunds for assembly, Id suggest taking breaks although some would probably disagree cant imagine the logistics of what your going through currently,
best of luck with everything and thank you!

Agreed - it would be a nightmare trying to keep refund requests straight while maintaining the right place in line for those that still want chips. Imagine, he was planning on producing awesome miners his customers would have been thrilled with. Instead he's stuck slogging through what must seem like endless refund requests. Thanks for dealing with all this crap for us, Steamboat.

well I was probably one of the last hold outs, requested a refund for 64 chips in group buy #1 & groupbuy #2. I highly doubt even if steamboat ships these by mid october we'll be able to make even 1/3 ROI. What a shitty situation, I hope steamboat can either A. Give us a better refund for assembly. B. Secure Gen2 Avalon chips and use them for our full assembled boards. Any idea how steamboat is refunding shipping, testing, and full assembly? And when the refunds will commence?

100% of shipping is refunded, 25% of assembly ($95 * .25 = $23.75/board) is refunded. The extra parts (anything you paid over $95 for kits/fully assembled miners, i.e. fans, standoffs, usb cables, etc.) are being held until something is figured out. If other next-gen boards can use them, that will be offered, if not, they can be shipped to you. These refunds come from SB requesting a refund for one of his batches. I hope more people request refunds, which will shift the focus sooner than later from the K16s to refunds and next-gen projects.

I'm keeping my credit for two assembled boards on hold for now until I hear more about Steamboat's plans. I believe steamboat alluded that those interested in his next venture could apply the assembly straight to that and just pay the difference, if any, between this gen and next gen boards. Did I read that wrong?

Those details are unclear at this point, but hopefully SB will clear them up shortly.

It seams SB is doing a heck of a job with these refunds - Terahash just folded with only 50% refunds. Well done SB

Oh, did you submit the assembly refund request somehow too? I never saw instructions for that.
