I learned the hard way also. Now I just "set it and forget it".

Yeah but what sucks is if  you have a internet or power problem that takes your machines down you get penalized

+1... that system is not fair. Then it's not pps because I had all those shares and i received nothing because I just mined 15/16 hours . 15 hours lost . Fukin great system

Wink

yes, all you whiners leave so we can have your share of the pie

First of all, if the whiners leave, you won't have their share of the pie. You are going to be getting a bigger piece from a pie that will proportionally take more time to be baked, so your net gain over time is the same, haven't you figured that out yet? Unless you are referring to the single block that gets mined right after they leave, in which case I believe that anyone wanting to leave, would do so right after a block is mined.

Secondly, the "if you don't like it, get out/if you don't like it there are other alternatives" argument is plain stupid and invalid. The whole purpose of a discussion forum is for people to express their opinion on how something could be improved. You may disagree, so please feel free to express your reason for disagreeing. But nothing is built perfect, so arguments like "no-one forces you to use it" do not invalidate the original argument.
Isn't obvious that the individual chooses for various other reasons to use a service, but still thinks that there are ways for it to be improved? Otherwise, his post would be like "Please suggest me some alternative cause I think this one is crappy"

tl;dr People using the "if you don't like it, you can get out" argument are in a fanboy mental state. Needless to say that rarely are they not plain wrong, because they believe they use a perfect system, which is never the case.

Wow, first post? Anyway, actually individual payout for block shares are larger with less people mining here. More people helps us get more blocks(if they don't keep hopping around) but with less coin rewarded for each miner.

Welcome to the pool if you are new!! Or enjoy the new alt account if your not.

^ This will get someone to sign up page. It's not really a referral link like a few pools have.

https://mining.bitcoin.cz/

Did some pool spill over to here today? Sure looks/sounds like it.

What you are probably looking at is the pool has solved 3 blocks. It's takes 100 confirmations for a block to mature to be valid and payout. It used to be 120 but the bitcoin devs lowered it awhile back. You can follow the blocks maturing on the pools statistics page. Third link from the top of the pool page.

How long has you miner been connected to the pool? It take several hours to build up to actual speed on pool side. Also some of these newer miners report different on different pools. I have some Rockminers that show 40ghs less on the pool than what cgminer reports.

As that last 10 hour 2 min round was an orphaned block (319461) does that mean it will be invalid?

Orphaned block = no pay

Note: Hopefully the reason for the Orphaned block isn't slow reporting buy the pool. I doubt it was, but it always makes me wonder. Especially on a 10+ hour block.

Word. You guys are on that like a hawk! Ah well....we still got 7 blocks otherwise! Damned good with the current diff and considerably low hash rate of the pool

Edit: seems DF beat us to it for that block...

Fish has been beating just about everyone to blocks lately. But what else would you expect from a private Chinese P2 pool that has over 2 Exahash (that's 2004 Petahash). I believe their stated goal is "World Domination"

No that private...I am a registered DF miner but DiscusFish aka F2Pool is but my second failover pool. The webgui is very nice @DF I must admit!

why does the pool register my hash rate at abotu 20% less than what it is?

Because the pool reports in sampling intervals, based on when you submit work, and how long it's been since you submitted.

Your hash rate at the pool will look most like your hash rate on your console immediately after submitting work.  The longer the time since you submitted, the longer the time your worker shows "dead air", and so from the pool side, shows no activity.

^ could you please explain that in a little more detail so I can understand what you are saying a little better. I like your train of thought on this. Thanks

This is what I've always assumed:

The pool doesn't know your hash rate, at least not in any way like your miner reports it. All the pool can see for sure is the rate at which it's receiving your submitted shares and it knows what difficulty of share it asked you for. This can also be off because you can submit more accepted shares than required by your assigned vardiff setting due to luck at any given time.

The pools reversed engineered hash rate for your miner is just an estimate. I guess it is what it is.

Ive also wondered since the pool calculates every 5 minutes to get a 60 minute average hash rate and your mining software calculates on its own intervals not in sink with the pool, how much that would effect the pool side numbers if any?(especially after being connected for several hours)

All my miners report well on slushes pool except my Rockminer rk-boxes. (cgminer shows 480ghs and the pool shows 440ghs)

I'm looking at this product: https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage-new-products/10-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html and was wondering if this would be worth the $50. I am CPU mining and getting a max of 1 MH/s, so 10 GH/s would be a major upgrade. I would run this all day, every day, and don't pay for power as well. Can anyone help me figure out how many BTC this would produce? I don't have all of the relevant information, otherwise I'd do it myself.

I also found these:

1.) http://www.amazon.com/BITMAIN-ANTMINER-ASIC-Miner-Overclockable/dp/B00HSC0D3W/ref=sr_1_33?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1410075480&sr=1-33&keywords=bitcoin+miner

2.) http://www.amazon.com/BITMAIN-ANTMINER-U2-Bitcoin-Overclockable/dp/B00ITD5NV6/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1410075575&sr=1-1&keywords=bitcoin+miner

Any of these worth it? Sorry for being a noob, I am new at this.
