I feel sorry for the many people who are waiting on thousand dollar hardware preorders for September  Kiss

Rule number 1 of mining, do not pre-order. What about the guys that pre ordered the SP30 for $15K and got a machine that only does 4.5TH not 6? Get an adjustment already? I might buy one for $100 next year and put in on my wall as a conversation piece  Roll Eyes

News Flash: Slush's hash now 6085910.842 Ghash/s

my share is now down to 0.0125 per block...used to be more like 0.0145 just recently when total has less than 5000000 ...no es muy bueno!

That's not even the biggest worry.
Bitcoin price falling rapidly and a huge difficulty rise on the way.
We may need a new hobby. Flute anyone?

BTC/$ hit the 50% retracement of the recent top and bottom yesterday at 17:30 and is now back at the 480-ish lows for a re-test. If that breaks...hello 440! Thanks for all the memories... Shocked

Happened exactly as predicted by using traditional chart analysis, I am myself surprised it still works (sometimes). If no big bounce off 440 = we are f....d!

We bounced off $446 but only to $471. "The center can not hold, the barbarians shall take the gates, retreat to the base of the square and stand firm"
Looks like we get to see if $401 will hold tonight, keep your fingers crossed.
NEVER, EVER PRE-Order a miner. The o9ne time I did it was only by 10 days, in that time price dropped $100 (20%) asked if I could cancel order or get some adjustment, sellers' response was .."No".
A week after release they dropped price another $100, a month after it came out could have picked one up for less than half what I paid.
At Slush, we are about to hit so many blocks that we will have to slush through puddles of coins. Smiley

Good Morning, central time.

I'm having a lot of blocks discarded and limited blocks accepted.  Is there a way to adjust the difficulty for mining.  I have to S3 overclocked on here and I have more blocks discarded than accepted.  Assistance is needed.  Is there a way to change the difficulty for the miner in slush?

Thanks in advance.

^? Check "knowledge base" link right above "Forum" link on Slushs "my accounts" page. It will answer most basic mining questions. I assume you mean shares and not blocks. Also, this is a stratum connection pool that has vardiff, so your difficulity is adjusted by the pool over time.

If it's a question about an s3 try this link:

Meant shares, not blocks.  It doesn't speak to it.  It's a question for the pool that is not addressed in the knowledge base.

Meet me on that s3 link I posted above and we can run through the problem. The dev of cgminer ckolivas says to ignore discarded shares. They were only relevant with old getwork protocol. They do not have anything to do with your hash rate, share acceptance, efficiency or anything else of any relevance today. Look on page 152 of this link:

BTC price fluctuation update:

http://btctrading.wordpress.com/

Note: original predictions from last month have been correct so far, and they also said it could go as low as $375 before it starts rebounding in the beginning of next month. Let's hope it doesn't get to that low estimate.

^ If you could only bottle that first time feeling of mining!!!! Welcome to the Bitcoin Revolution!!!!

Until you realize you are spending more in electricity than you are earning with mining and that bottle shatters.  Sad
