This could be end for smaller casinos, but i think it's hard for people to grasp the size of stake and amount of volume that goes trough stake.

Just in comparison: Stake made around $2.6 billion in revenue in 2022. $40M is 1.5% from that. I am sure that they didn't even need to open their emergency fund for this

So it's not a problem when one puts things in a perpective.

I think it's a very competitive business so to see a big casino having hacking problems and losing money will make a lot of people working from other casinos come to discuss the problem as if it's a very big case, even though it has been explained that all funds are safe and I think indeed people who come to this thread discuss that they don't see how Stake spends money on promotions and campaigns alone maybe very big, so why are they getting busy here because of this problem, I'm sure this problem will be the right material to drop Stakes. but that's in vain

Maybe if it's a small casino I'm sure the casino will go bankrupt and won't operate anymore, they probably don't know Stake that much or have never visited Stake, so I'm just the one laughing in the back when people discuss this hack like it's a big deal while Stake's side already said that all users' money is safe, as you said it is not worth it  

@piebeyb I was reading my daily news sites when I saw this news there and after confirming I was shocked but equally happy that Stake decided to immediately open the withdrawals and continue business like usual which proves what a solid team they have in the background. Furthermore I see nothing wrong with their tweet because when they have the funds to run their business as usual why panic and at this stage I feel that we should do our best to support them and pray that they recover their fund’s asap.

I just back from vacation and saw these happening.

I'm not to worried about the the loss incident since this is not wipe out any user account balance. The lost only 40M$ which mean, while they can pay 100M$/person for deal (Kicks) 40 it's just a small from my perspective.

The bankroll are still safe, just need to discovery where is the leak bug/breach.

I think Eddie gave a short explanation a while ago... where he said that a base amount are paid per VIP rank and then also based on what you played and how much you played. The Stake original games count the least towards the bonus and then the 3rd party slots and then the Sports betting counting the most.

They are not giving the exact formula, because they do not want players only to play the games that count the most towards wagering. (It is structured in a way that if you lose more, you get a bigger bonus.... but just slightly) 

There is this estimate on how it happens that much is known but there is no known formula, that is the tough one. Like you do not know how much of it is betting this month, and how much is the VIP rank and what happens if you bet this much but then stop etc etc. Basically we do not have the exact amounts. Nobody knows how much they are going to get, and there isn't a way to make that calculation beforehand while you are gambling.

This results with you ending up with just some estimate if you could. I believe that we are going to see something much better on the long run and it should be important to just move on and not really care what will be the income and just hope that it goes as well as hoped for in the end.

That one is to prove that no funds of users got affected by recent hacking and its good since it can erase the fear of people thinking that they might also be included to the recent attack happened to them. But since now the withdrawals are open I guess its time for users to go back on their normal activity since for sure Stake could easily recover with their recent losses since they still have a lot of money to fund their casino and to use for marketing.

I followed X's account but luckily I'm not that active in twitter and I turn my X application's notification off so I will only open X whenever I wish and I will not be distracted with any notification.
Another luck is that I just opened my X account and I do not find any tag related to the scam, perhaps because all the scammer's account has been reported and removed by X.
It is obvious that we should always careful with social media and any other online places, too many scammers out there who want to steal money.
We should responsible for ourselves by avoiding something that looks suspicious or too good to be true and not by clicking unknown link in the social media.

I think, this case is not just on (Stake) as well but every famous casino. I believe soon we are gonna to see more like from (Duelbits) and other.

Yes, yesterday I got that my account was flagged for claiming a refund from fake Stake Twitter, unfortunately I have blocked them, actually there are lots of fraudsters like that everywhere on x.com, not just casinos but other airdrop projects are also there, what's great is that they spend money on get the same blue and gold tick as the original account, but I'm sure people who are smart enough to know what they should do.

I think they will never succeed but even so it must be reminded that it is best to pay attention to the x.com username which indicates whether it belongs to the official Stake or not, because I can just see from the number of followers, if it's only a few it means it's not the original x.com Stake account but fake one. I thought I was the only one who often got this sign, but it turns out there were a lot of them

2.6 billion dollars revenue is not a net profit, they have a lot of expenses besides that, including office rent, salaries that they have to give employees, marketing budget, salary for CEO(s), servers, datacenters, new infrastructure, etc. It looks like a big number but is not so big when you dedicate all the expenses but definitely still their profit is pretty huge and I assume 40 million dollar is not a huge deal for them.

This post is a complete scam. Don't be deceived by it.

Tons of scammers are using the current situation to scam people. One of the very first was StakeAlerts that also has a gold badge. As twitter says, Gold Badge is given to businesses that are verified by Twitter and wonder how were these profiles able to get gold badge when they wouldn't be able to prove the ownership of Stake. Is twitter really so careless today?

Why ? because the scammer bought a gold verified for (company) for 1000$/month. I believe people still falling to these trap, since the scammer is put some effort to buy the badge business company.

If they not bought these, I don't think people can falling to these trap.

I don't know how true this is since there is no reference link or site attached to the news yet ..

But my question now is, if this supposedly turns out to be true, is there any chance of stake getting that money back?, Since the group behind the hack has been uncovered or discovered ?

I know it's a bad thing to be a scammer but you also need to somehow give props to these people how fast they are reacting and trying to take advantage of a situation, it's crazy.
The wallet hack was only some hours old and they already sent emails regarding this matter adding some phishing links. I wonder if it's the same people that made the initial hack or just a unrelated group.
Same with the token and stuff, they become more inventive day by day.

I sincerely hope nobody lost money because of these scammers, their work gets more sophisticated day by day.

The FBI is issuing this release to warn the public regarding the theft of approximately $41 million in virtual currency from Stake.com, an online casino and betting platform. The FBI has confirmed that this theft took place on or about September 4, 2023, and attributes it to the Lazarus Group (also known as APT38) which is comprised of DPRK cyber actors. 
 
The FBI investigation has revealed that DPRK cyber actors moved stolen funds associated with the Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and Polygon networks from Stake.com...

That is how some part of the story unfolds. Lazarus Group being alleged here, their pattern to conduct a crime is known, could it be they attribute them solely by that or maybe there is some other factor that is being undisclosed?

But my question now is, if this supposedly turns out to be true, is there any chance of stake getting that money back?, Since the group behind the hack has been uncovered or discovered ?

A certain no. Unless the hacker gave it back, which is extremely unlikely. Moreover, it is known that in many past hack incidents that were attributed to the group, the victim entities did not get their money back. Lastly, just because the threat actor is discovered does not mean authority official know their place or have access to them.

Who is going to go into North Korea to claim back that money that was stolen from Stake? The "Missile Man" will not even respond to allegations like that and will continue to launch test missiles all over the ocean.

I have mentioned in another thread that it appears anything can be blamed on North Korea. FBI can say the Lazarus Group did it and the hacking group is from North Korean's cyber offensive division. We cannot really prove or disprove it and I am afraid that there is a bigger agenda behind this fear tactic. I am not quite certain what, however, we can be sure that it will be something about bringing stricter rules on the cryptospace.

Very well articulated and insightful comment indeed, but honestly, I have never heard of this so called Lazarus group before, and even though there is no mention or pointer to why the FBI has attributed the hack to this group, but I am personally assuming the group has a particular way they conduct and carry out their operations which the FBI is already familiar with ..

But then again , the fact that you categorically made it clear that there is no way stake is getting back the money even when a group behind the hack is already identified, leaves me with more pressing questions like ..

Why and what do we have special security agents for ? 
The country in question, don't they have security agents? Are there any efforts being made to uncover and catch all those who are members of this group? Because I personally believe they are not spirits, they are humans like every one of us living in the same world we all live in, have the same blood and water flowing through their vain, why are they so untouchable?

Is this one of the proves that security agents are only meant to go after and catch only the common criminals out there, and not the high and mighty ones ?
