Here's an interesting article about CoinJoin/SharedCoin:

Weak Privacy Guarantees for SharedCoin Mixing Service
http://www.coinjoinsudoku.com/advisory/

to note:

Quote
SharedCoin will be suitable for protection against unskilled examiners of the Bitcoin blockchain until user-friendly analysis tools are released to the public.

Quote
A tool for analyzing SharedCoin and other CoinJoin-based mixing protocols will be released approximately two weeks following this advisory to allow SharedCoin users adequate time to protect their privacy.

So we would need a simple explanation ina TL;DR style. How about something like this?

Okay, something complex is better than nothing. It was just my opinion.

Is the wiki only specifically about the coin or is it meant to educate people about 'anonymous' and other issues that might be of interest?

Wiki will be all about Anoncoin only. But we need to add articles about i2p , zerocoin , etc as they are also very related to anoncoin.

If you are trying to connect using clearnet , it shouldnt try to connect to sam , if you have disabled i2p. restart the wallet and try.
If you are trying to connect using darknet (i2p) , add i2p=1

I've made a bunch of modifications to the anoncoin wiki

http://wiki.anoncoin.net/Main_Page

In particular, the main page, anoncoin, and zerocoin. Please correct any mistakes I might have made.

I've also added a FAQ and internet resource page. Could someone help with answering the questions I identified?

Sorry if I am rude, but what is more related to anoncoin than anonymous and fairplay politics? Most of the people who will be drawn to this coin in the next upwave will be drawn to the political association of the name.

At the very least maybe a link page with a broad choice of libertarian and pro free speech sites, maybe even activist sites like http://photographyisnotacrime.com/

Again, anonymity is only a feature, in a few weeks or so it will be easily pasted into the code of any coin. The core of anoncoin should be something not so easily copied by the hordes of new flybynight coins. Its anonymity appeal will pass quickly but if it helps people network with likeminded folk, and inspires a bit...

If you or k1773r create a resources link page on the wiki I will try to populate it with fair links and any that seem inappropriate you can delete.

Could you find about three links that provide a good introduction to the anonymous movement? I don't think that the purpose of the wiki is to provide a definitive resource for this, but at the same time I also think that we could add a few links so that people who don't know anything about this can learn more.

I would propose adding three links to this page, along with a one sentence summary of web site/resource:

I've still got a missing withdrawal from cryptsy of several hundred ANC from 9 days ago, with a TX ID that doesn't even show on the ANC block explorers.

Also, regarding the Cryptsy issue, I finally got a response after submitting a ticket on Wednesday.
Here's what I received:

"I am deeply sorry for not being able to respond to your ticket in a timely manner.
Our tech support team is still working on your concern, there is no ETA provided yet.
I will keep this ticket open and will be updating you once concern is resolve.
Again, sorry for the delay and thank you kindly for your patience."

This means nothing really.

So it has been over a week since my ANC withdrawals "processed" yet I still have no coins. I have submitted multiple tickets to support, but they couldn't be more useless. This is a lot of money for me and I see that this is a problem a lot of people are having. Has anyone actually gotten their coins yet?

Yes, in fact a couple of weeks ago I transferred my coins out without any delay or trouble whatsoever... this was unusual, however.  Most times it takes at least two attempts to verify and get them out.  I can't imagine what Cryptsy's difficulty could be, unless it's simple market manipulation and not actual technical problems at all, as someone else suggested- but I'm not there working on it so I don't really know a thing about it.  As it is, I don't put any money at all into Cryptsy, I just mine other coins and trade for ANCs.

I have the same issue. Tried withdrawing to see if it's stuck again. I got the coins last time but it usually takes more than a week for them to fix it every time. My guess is that ANC doesn't get enough volume for them to really care.

Edit: got a response to my ticket in 5 minutes. Same answer as usual and I am not sure if they actually do bother checking it.
"Thank you for getting in touch with us about your withdrawal request and my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
I am showing this transaction should be credited to your account. I have escalated this ticket to our tech support team. Please give them time to check the transaction and send you a reply as as our tech support team must respond in order of tickets received.
Please let me know when your withdrawal has gone thru. Thank you kindly for your patience and understanding."

This is just to let you all know that I have finished my work on the new, official, Anoncoin Wiki

http://wiki.anoncoin.net/Main_Page

Thanks to Geekz for getting this set up, and getting the ball rolling.

Among the entries are the following:

  • Anoncoin (cryptocurrency)
  • Anoncoin address
  • Articles about Anoncoin and Zerocoin
  • Block chain explorers
  • Exchanges
  • FAQ
  • How to guides
  • I2P
  • Internet resources
  • Mining pools
  • RSA UFO
  • Zerocoin

Most of these articles are in good shape, but some are incomplete (such as block chain explorers, exexchanges, mining pools, and I2P).

Please feel free to modify any of these entries, to add new content, or to add questions to the FAQ. You do not even need an account to make modifications, so: Don't complain to me, get involved!

my first issue is as of 6/26, yesterday I tried to withdraw again... same problem
nothing has been resolved. all withdrawals still stuck, damn cryptsy
we should open a specific thread on this issue, and insult those assholes.. apparently it works.

I think that we, as a community, should switch en masse to Bluetrade: https://bleutrade.com/

The volume there is very low, so what if we all do the following?

For each bid or sell order that you place with Cryptsy, consider placing the same order at Bluetrade for about 1/4 of the amount.

As soon as there is a critical volume, people will naturally switch.

Strange how it varies. I withdrew well over 1000 ANC around the same time and got them four days later without ever posting a ticket.

Like I wrote few days before, I signed up on bluetrade, and 1st time in my life I get warning that someone try to sign in into my mail..
I can not be sure that this have connection with bluetrade!

There is no volume on any coin there, even DRK do not have volume   Grin

It is good to discuss and maybe we "all" can agree and go to another exchanges.
If/when price go up, cryptsy will do their job..

And all other exchanges will have ANC  with good volume!!
