I have been away for a while and was wondering if the Pi version of BFG miner has been upgraded with the auto restart yet? I have not seen any chatter on this since my last post.

Yes, it was updated. If something goes wrong you should get message: "ASIC has stopped hashing, attempting to restart".

New driver release is out, sorry for the delay and thanks for being patient. I added some last minute debugging code to better help people with issue and rule out any hardware problems. The compile binaries include the big restart fix, so these should technically hash forever without needing any manual restarts (as long as the power supply is semi-stable and you haven't really screwed up the voltages).

Let me know if the binaries run fine on respective systems...might have mis-compiled something while trying to keep track of every architecture

Last I knew as of a few months ago the auto restart still was not ported over to the Linux ARM V2 tar download which is needed for the pi., or am I missing something?

I am using RPi with latest bfgminer precompiled binary, and it works perfectly. Auto restart of faulty sticks is there.

As soon as I'm done with the Apollo pre-order I will give some love to the Moonlanders. I have a bunch of updates queued for the driver and will be releasing a new version in the next month hopefully.

What are you using to power them? Maybe you don't have enough current to run that high a frequency. Do they run OK at a lower frequency?

Regarding this, have you seen https://github.com/luke-jr/bfgminer/issues/763 ?.
I think my problem has been solved. Just letting you know so you can merge that so others that had that problem don't have to anymore

Run a Google search on the model number on the label.  This is a generic suggestion, it is how I find replacement fans of any type.  Read carefully in the result descriptions so to match amperage, RPMs, bearing type, etc.       --scryptr

PERHAPS JSTEFENOP WILL ANSWER--

In my experience, finding replacement fans is done with a search.  Measure the fan and do a more generic search.  Or, a miner could perhaps PM jstefanop for a precise source.       --scryptr

before replacing the fans, carefully take them apart by removing the rubber o ring from the shaft under the sticker and use some lithium grease on the bearing..
i did mine and now they are completely silent and been going for months.

Thanks for the tip! ordering some grease now, hopefully that does the trick. my only fear is that if it does, i'll start buying more moonlanders hahaha

These are sleeve bearing fans so they do need to be greased up once in a while. A bit of machine oil should do the trick. (like mentioned above you can unscrew the fan and get to the sleeve bearing by pulling back the sticker on the back of the fan.

I will also be listing fan replacement at shop.futurebit.io at my cost + shipping which will be under $5. If you want something that will last longer I would go with a dual ball bearing 25mm 5v fan which some people have listed here before. Of course these can get rather pricey.

Maybe you would consider putting the ball bearing fan on the website as an upgrade?

Thats a good idea...ill see if I can source some for cheap.

Per my previous post, I did search.  Either my search criteria was bad or I just missed it - Which is why I asked in the first place.....
