Oh, I saw this one, too, TheQuin. It sounds a bit stupid but honestly I don't know what the new ranking system is.
Very complicated formula in the code, I do not understand it. Maybe I don't understand due to I am new member and lack of fundamental knowledge to catch those ones. Sorry if I am saying something foolish.

In my opinion, this is an April Fools joke from admin. April Fools is a wide known tradition in this world, and i believe it is known globally, not only in one country, but if this system is true, i will be shocked hard.

I don't think it is entirely global which accounts partly for the large number of people not getting it. Then there are those who will always be fooled. I'm enjoying how many are asking what the f in fMerit stands for 

So, what is that f in your opinion? i would love to know

I can't find the post, but I distinctly recall reading that fmerit is awarded each time you "complain" about merit. By a process of April 1st deduction, that eliminates 4 out of 5 of your choices.

don't worry about it...you don't have to post anything of quality...I see plenty of accounts that just copy and paste random shit from telegram or reddit and get merit...the great thing about the advent of merit is that all you have to do is create or buy multiple accounts and just share merit back and forth...that is now the preferred way to advance in rank so that you can charge more for bounty, restrict the number of new higher level accounts, and thereby maintain a high price for bounty for those who are already on top....genius

now that im on the subject...I couldn't help but notice how much merit the admin picked up for this thread.......kind of an oxymoron folks...gather together to talk about "decentralized" things and then centralize power...but who am I??...I have a low politeness rating...so, how could I possibly be right about anything??

Merit sources get their smerits replenished. So you do not have to worry about merit sources.
The numbers were expected to decrease, because the initial air-dropped smerits would eventually run out. The smerits generated by merit sources is 17,8000/month (which is lower than what is being currently given out).

There are 80 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 17800 sMerit per 30 days

Remember, just do contribution and do not think about that fMerit, you will surely get it in the future. All of them, including Imagination, Politeness, Virtue, Karma, Coins, fmerits have not shown in my profile.
Another plus signal is I have not seen Theymos launched something without detailed announcement about its mechanism.
Combined all of them, I believe we have witnessed big joke.

I was so confused, came back after a short hiatus and saw Karma and politeness, I guess Theymos has had enough of the crazy ALL CAPS color trolls - I think I like this new change

It's perfectly fair to new people . That must be demanded you have to write high-quality posts, rather than just spam a bunch of worthless stuff. Everyone has to write high-quality posts. It would be very hard for us now to rank up but we must adopt this great new system to maintain the quality here in forum.
We must be very fair in terms of giving merits, and I do hope this new system will works fine in the long run.

Thanks for the figure of total sMerits generated each month, Sir botany (just kidding because I love the Politeness point of new new rank system, which has gone after 1st of April).
In my opinion, real constructive users in the forum don't have to worry about lack of sMerits in circulation. Of course, sMerits are scarce, but they are enough to give away to deserved users.

I believe its really fair if merits go to people as their activity level increases in the forum and i also think it can be used to help people to rank up as well. There are so many people who dont have merits but has a high activity level

Please stop asking free gifts, airdroped merits, my friend. You have got 10 merits due to airdroped merits for the launch of merit system. I think  those points are enough for you. You can only earn more points if you contribute something helpful to the forum, which I don't see with your last thread.
