This is pic of 1 of my boards that doesnt run. you can see the bent copper heat sinks and paste all over. I don't understand the heat sink configuration here though? Why are the heat-sinks on the A1 chips so small? What is the bigger heat sink on the other side connected to?

Because 30 % of the heat can be disposed from one side of the chip 70% from the other This seems to be done right CONGRATS. AMT This is useless of course as all my other posts right? In other this stuff to work something needs to blow both dorm the top and the bottom But this is beyond amt knowledge I guess and it is not their fault that doit folks are not doing right

This is pic of 1 of my boards that doesnt run. you can see the bent copper heat sinks and paste all over. Damn dude. Those are bent to shit. I only have one little prong bet. It looks like someone was kicking your box down the road. Now hopefully the cable is the only issue with mine. once I can finally check the information about the chips and see if they are working. If you look carefully its the compound. That happened well before it left the facility for shipping. Its all over the leads and contacts. Thats really really bad. Could be shorting the board. Bent heats-ink pins/fins while bad is not as bad and can still result in a working board (presuming the heat-sink didn't tear the chip from the board itself slightly in transit. Again a result of shit packing Strange that the heat sinks are bent. I am not sure what kind of material is used to paste the heat sinks onto the A1. From my limited knowledge, typically conductive paste heats up and starts flowing, so there is usually something to bolt down the heat sink. In this case, there's nothing bolting it down. Now I notice that the paste is white, usually this kind of paste is the slightly sticky kind and doesn't flow when it gets heated up. Still, I don't know why the heat sinks are so small.

hey guys sorry for the lack of posting, been sorting this miner out. so far im still waiting for my psu to arrive as my powercool 950w bronze rated psu from my gaming rig cant cope with 3 cards it runs seriously hot but can manage 2 cards and gets warmer than expected but it ran for 14hours with a pretty steady hash of around 410ghs NOMINAL (2 out of 3 cards). in comparison with other amt miners i have seen posted, mine/regtable's is in pretty good condition bar the 6th slot on cage is slightly bent, but operational none the less. i have tested so far all 3 cards (2 at a time) and they all pull 204-205 ghs NOMINAL so i do believe once all 3 cards are running we should have no problem hitting the 700-750 ghs promised by amt (turbo) alltho as you will notice by the pics i had to add a fan on the card at the end as it could do with moving down all cards in slots so the 2 stock fans cool all cards but due to 6th slot been bent just added a fan for now. some pictures of my kit below

CPU and GPUs have their heat sinks on the side of the chip and there is a conduction path from chip thermal paste to heat sink. I don't understand this kind of a configuration, there is no conduction path from the chip through the board to the massive heat sinks.

Put him on ignore, his posts have been pretty useless and is just an I told you so type of post. I think by this point we all got it. His posts contribute nothing and haven't to the discussion. The ignore button just hides anything he posts from your view. Makes it easier to not have to deal with his nonsense. It certainly made it easier for me. But then seeing people reply to this asshat doesn't anyone. He will post because he can. But ignoring him he will eventually go away.
Hey are you getting nervous because of me or because your crap is still undelivered Any way as I said take some pills for the glorious moment of arrival

The rig AMT shipped to me. Notice how the left and right side are all bent out of shape. Notice the power connecter on the right side is completely gone. Notice that the some of the boards looked warped out of shape. Notice the right most heat sink in bent out of shape. Notice the white plastic on the right.. that's the stripped out power connector. Notice on the second to the left board, there's this black piece.... that a piece of the disintegrated fan. Notice the paper on the right, that's what AMT considers as padding. Well it didn't help avoid having the rightmost heat sink get bent out of shape! UNBELIEVABLE! Tip to AMT, use bubble wrap first around the entire unit, then pack in foam peanuts or styrofoam on all eight corners. Paper is not padding!!

this is the one from 2 cards. i will post a 24hr one when new psu arrives monday (tomorrow) Congrats dude That is a working graph! Congrats to AMT also it seems that they have at least one customer with working equipment Just for the record what have happened in 6 am. Did you disconnect the miners ? The drop in performance seems bit high and not luck related

But if it was a falty cable it would take two hours also to reach zero right? Any way from your setup I see that you know what you are doing, so when you make all three cards work, Please shot a pool 24 hours graph again will you? It was not the cable dude just chips which hanged..... AMT I am taking back my congrats for you it turned out that some other graph is needed although this one seemed very ok on a first glance

IF they had larger clients I wonder what the experience was for those? A smooth delivery? But seems like everyone's miners so far took a massive hit. These kits or full systems got the crap kicked out of them. Its like the Fedex guys were Ronaldinho or something.
With all this documented information its not a good thing to have users getting together getting pissed about this. AMT should just pack em up like fedex suggests. Bubblewrap and a cardboard box is not enough.
Again for those close enough (within a 5 hour drive) to pick up I would really recommend it. At least then you can inspect it before you leave the facility or their office and accept and address it on the spot. If there is damage in transit, well then that's certainly on those picking up at that point. But sadly this does not need to happen if there is just a little diligence and more care in the packing process.

I have not had huge success getting answers on here, but I was wondering what the status of my order is. It is #847. I know this may not "be the place for order inquiries", but other means have gotten me a response so delayed that it ceased to matter, or no response at all. I am glad to see production and shipment is finally coming along, and I see all these people talking about order numbers 1000+ and I am just wondering about my order that I placed in the first days of December. I have been along for this whole ride, and I am just wondering when my order will ship.
Thanks
+1 We're in the same boat. I was told I would receive a tracking number last week and I have received nothing as of yet. I am order number 899 placed on December 5, 2013

With the kind of power output we are talking about here, seems to be a more practical if messy option to cool these things in mineral oil (immersion cooling). I am strongly considering it considering the heat these things likely put out. That also assumes they work from the get go. EDIT: added this link for further info. Someone already has a bitcoin rig doing this. http://www.instructables.com/id/Mineral-Oil-Submerged-PC/?ALLSTEPS
