Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I never said that guys...

I'm saying, my ghetto ASS 70+ year old house I am renting, has like 20Amps on one freakin circuit. The 1500W is plenty -.- lol...Just make sure you are plugging into a dedicated circuit...

Stop searching for things to get mad about...lol

I will be posting a video today, of my "ghetto ass house" with me and the machines hashing .I warn you, it may get messy....

So basically you need a modern electrical system designed to handle the usual mess of electronics we are used to. A house that was built at least in the mid to late 80s. Older homes just wont have the extra circuits. I ran into a similar problem in my house and had an electrician come out and install a dedicated 30amp just to run my PCs. Someone turned on a hair dryer on the second floor and it blew the circuit on the whole floor. So yea older homes have these issues.

Exactly,

Thank you for being level headed. I do get quite sick of kids freaking out on here.

Basically the issue will be most noticeable with people in apartments and older homes. Making sure you have AT LEAST a 20amp dedicated circuit is required to make multiple miners work. 2 or even 3 should run fine on a 20Amp. In fact I would hazard you could run up to 5 easily on a single dedicated 20amp. more so on a 30amp. At that point you are better off colocating your stuff as the power bill will match the bill from a colo hosting a single cabinet. At least that's the case for me in NY.

I am powering up a single miner at home and setting up all my other hardware at a colo. Already got the extra hardware I need to make this work in a datacenter (as datacenter ops is what I do) and monitor things remotely with little need for me to go in unless hardware fails. But anyway anyone running it in a house will need to really take that into consideration. This is not a product problem with it running at 1500. This is a problem with power needs for older places or apartments that usually are not equipped for that sort of power draw in addition to the rest of the home electronics.

EDIT I mispoke probably be able to run 2 on a 20amp. I grossly overestimated that. I still maintain though that the best bet is to get it into a datacenter where they can manage the power and you can work with them to get the right setups.

agreed, i shall join you in the negative trust rating if i do not receive my tracking number by tomorrow as promised.
EDIT: AMT please be aware. If i do not receive my tracking number by tomorrow at the latest i will class that as the second lie regarding shipping my miner and will not be impressed by any means, since in your e.mail you told me by Friday at the latest, you have until then to do the right thing otherwise i shall be joining everyone else demanding a full refund.

i understand your house wiring is your house wiring mine is mine. and your uncomfortable running it on what could just set alight i get that. im not looking for things to get mad at, you said your running a 1000 and a 1500w psu to get it to hash as prescribed otherwise a 1500w will only pull the 1.2 in turbo. so to get best out of it i need a 2500w psu or equivelant in two psus im in uk so all circuits run a 30a breaker anyways but i believe its daisy chained plug to plug so this may cause volt drops and some instability.

I even offered to fly from Austin, Texas, drive over to Haverford personally to pick up my miners for order 899. I also offered to give them an extra $1000 cash in hand (on top of the 12k I spent on the miners) to help them out with their financial troubles (and ensure I got my miners). Can't even get a response from them in any way shape or form... It's as though they don't care about us customers (or their financial situation for that matter).

No, but if I was going to spend 1k on lawyer fees I figured I'd try to circumvent all that by providing them a different kind of incentive to get my miners to me. Looks like lawyers will be getting that money as they would rather go that route instead.

I was wrong about the backplane, it works fine...When it has enough power. The last post I made, people need to read, and understand before plugging it into a standard outlet.

I am having my father run a separate line(not good with "electrician stuff") to pull a dedicated AMPERAGE to one outlet.

I would suggest running a 30 AMP breaker, just to be safe and power both Power supplies with turbo mode.

12/13 amps per 5 modules. I am just guestimating, someone can chime in if they'd like(please god chime in, I don't know what I am talking about LOL).

~Casey

So 12/13 amps you TIMES it by 120v = 1440-1560 Watts. You are saying if we use the 1500W for the boards, and another power supply for fans etc, it will go to 1.5Th/s? Can you explain a little more on this?

The 1.5THs thing was especially interesting. If that is actual turbo mode that would be nice and then the device would be working a nominal (aka advertised) rates. That would be a most welcome bit of news.

A couple of suggestions when building a miner:

 1) If you want to jumper two power supplies the easy and safe way, there is small $20 board they sell called PSU4ALL or POWER4ALL or something like that. When you switch the on the first PSU, it sends a signal to the board to start the 2nd PSU. (I cant find the site but I will look again)
 2) I would not start with milk crates. Instead, go to your home depot store and buy 8 foot aluminum angles. They cost about $9-$20 depending on thickness and size, also buy some super glue and some metal screws. I would also put the miner close to the floor, but not on the floor. Put it on steel or concrete, not on a wood floor or rug.

We can send them the case, but believe it or not it would be better for us to send it to them from Amazon directly. Amazon prime allows for free shipping and the difference between retail price and wholesale on Antecs is 20% or less. But by the time we express pallets to assembly and then reship in the case.. it gets to be bit more.

We don't want guys putting them in milk crates and there is no need for it. Please understand that you could lay the cage on is side and will get a sufficient airflow to cool the miner. Just try not to keep it on anything that you don't want damaged from heat marks or scratches like a dining room table.

Milk crates may work, but you run the risk of it falling over and its just a matter of top before you nick a cap off the board and you're screaming RMA.  We'll put together some pics today of the best way to run the kit by itself.

No need, we'll ship your miners soon. Even if you flew from Austin to Philly there's no way you're flying back with two miners. Unless you put them in you're luggage but these are too big to be considered a carryon.

Accepting a payment of 1k wouldn't be fair to others, its not about the money its about following some sort of order when shipping these things out.

I do not want a kit, I would just like a refund.

Alright, please write to orders@advancedminers.com and someone will get back to you. Thanks.

Hi AMT_Miners, can you please share this information with Allysa. I don't think she got the message my refund was approved by you. When I asked for a refund you said "Alright".

OK it looks like you are not going to give me a refund. Not very happy about this because you told me "Alright" when I asked for a refund. Now, you wont say you won't give me a refund.

We said "Alright, please write to orders..." in order to take that conversation off the public forum. Not like "Alright, you can have a refund". We're not in a position to give refunds in general, and you were interested in then Kit and had been put on the kit list according to you're interest, what happened to that?

Hey AMT_ Where's our refund?
There's no "position" for you to be in regarding refunds. If you run a business and the customer is sick of waiting (because there's no delivery at all) then he cancels the order. And you refund. You can't agree or disagree. Just not.
So, again, Hey AMT_ Where's our refund?

And here's the FTC regulations that confirm that AMT is not only illegally delaying orders, but also illegally refusing refunds.

First, DO NOT plug this into a 15amp circuit, especially one where other rooms or appliances are wired in at your house.

I suggest a 20AMP breaker, this will give you about 2000W of power more or less.

Close. Do not run at 15 amp circuit above 1440 watts. Do not run a 20 amp circuit above 1920 watts.
