Alyssa,

And Josh rarely types here. Smiley I'll check you're mail and get back to you shortly.

Alyssa mentioned the upgrade kit you suggested, it seems viable in that aspect for guys that have a currently opted in for the kit.

Wait, what? Who? When? Seriously confused here.... Is Alyssa referring to herself in the third person? Or is it not Alyssa.
One would almost think they're not completely honest here....

We do not want the Dupe It Yourself kit. Where's our refund?

AMT_miners will reply that Alyssia did make the first post when she was in the office at noonish, and that it was Jim Brown who make the post at midnightish.

Joshua Zipkin with his 7 year business degree from Penn State rarely posts on this thread, for he's thoroughly disgusted with it. Besides, most of AMT's sales stem elsewhere, with only a few sales stemming from this forum. This thread only acts as a communique for the various other folks that mostly own hosting companies in case they have an issue or desire to order more product, both of which they don't because they don't exist. 90% of sales stem from this thread. Since nobody has yet received a miner, it's a foregone conclusion that AMT is mining with equipment paid for from its customers.

If I were a con man, this is exactly what I would do. If AMT is viable, then in no way in hell would they have let this become the mess it is, ergo they are a con and mining away.

Likely a dual 800 supply will cheap than 1500
When trying different fans, first look at the cfm needed and just make sure ya at least match the total cfm of whatever they ship with. Or... maybe wedge some copper or aluminum tubing between the fins and plumb to a manifold for liquid-cooling... Wink Heck, I'd be tempted to pull the sinks and mount a cold-plate instead. Hmm...

On PSU's gotta say check Amazon or ebay, case in point, http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_feature_keywords_6?rh=n%3A1161760%2Ck%3Ahp+server+power+supply%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6906988011&keywords=hp+server+power+supply&ie=UTF8&qid=1396308246&rnid=6525659011

Only catch is that they usually have 1-2 heavy output buses in the form of big copper lugs. Folks sel lug to pcie cable breakouts or just make yer own from some sets of pcie extender cables.
The case is fucked because it can't natively support two power supplies in it.

That's why buying a desktop PC case for this design was retarded. So was hoping it'd all run off of one power supply, and be expandable, to boot.

The way I see it, it'd be better to have dual 750's or 1000watt PSU's - redundancy being the key here (not one power supply issue will take all boards offline).

Shop around for "dual power supply cable" - these will let you connect two powersupplies to one motherboard (or switch). They are fairly cheap.

It's likely that 2 x 750/900w supplies will be cheaper and more popular than one big 1500-1800 watt unit anyway, thus less of supply/demand issue. I assume you just need to chain power cables switches of both turn on together so that all boards on the back-plane are powered in the chain at the same time otherwise no joy...

I would like / prefer, 6 x board back plane with 2 power chained together option if it exists...? Some of 800-900w units are fairly small, I wonder if they can they fit in the rack case?!? Both inside, one out one in, both outside?

We can fit it in the rack case, the problem with the 40 nordco cases we bought is that the internal hard drive sections (which pull out) stick in about 1-2 inches too far and it doesn't allow for fans on the back of our cage. We've take all the hard drive pull out sections to the cnc guy, he'll have his minions manually modify(cut down) each of the pullouts. Then we can ship the rack mounts.

Naran, if you'd like we can go ahead and ship you these board/cages as is and get you the cases after we get them modified.

Guys,

1) How long to get the rack cases mods completed? Power supplies and for it ship fully assembled?
2) I really don't care about the hard drive mounts, unless where they mount, the metal extrusions stick out and get in the way of the cage mounting? Is that's what you mean for the CNC machining down job so that it fits - this would make sense.
3) I believe you said the power supplies are still on back order? I have get my own 1500w power supply then with the kit if I accepted the DIY kit?
4) What happens if cage still doesn't fit the rack case after it ships out later?  I can't shake the feeling I'm get unfinished product with little or no warranty?
5) What happens if something doesn't work after it arrives, you could say I broke it in DIY assembly?
6) Will you provide RMA's if there are faults found in the DIY the kits? Or only on the finished, fully assembled and tested products?
7) My preference is for fully assembled product with warranty, but it seems your telling me the parts to assemble are delayed? So take it as is or just wait?

The wait has been so long as my orders are from Oct 13 & 15, as you know, late for me started on Dec 15th 2013 and I'll be hitting your MPP in 6 weeks, likely one of first ...

Hahaha, AMT_ will not reply at all. Also, they're now making new promises, but I can't shake off the cynical preposition anymore. I hope for everyone that their orders will be satisfied, DIY-kit or case included. Whatever they deliver now will not ROI and the MPP is shady at best, they've already tried to contend their own statements about that.

We have no stake in the game anymore -since we cancelled our order- other than a simple but very effective refund. It would shut us up, at any rate.

So AMT_ where's our refund?

I have a ton of power supplies available to use if they would just ship me the boards and the chips. I am more than willing to do this but can't get a response from AMT.
email the sales adress with subject line "bct in CAPS quoting kit option" gets you a response as i have found out.

am i right in presuming the "kit"  of 5 cards is the 1.2t machine and it comes with lcd screen or is that integral part of pi.

Actually we weren't going to throw in the LCD screen. We were how ever looking for bulk HDMI cables. The idea of the kit is to get the techies their miners quick. As they know what to do with them, we'd assume they'd hook up their monitors to the pi.

ahhhh so you can run them off a monitor minus tjhe lcd screen i was un aware that the pi had outputs as i have never in my life seen a pi. apart from the meat and potato options lmao. can you confirm the "nominal" speed of the kit? not a dead it is x ghs but a ghs+/_ figure. thanks.
p.s iv been informed you responded to the order i have interest in i thank you for doing so and hope to hell its not an april fools! :-P

so... AMT will ship you parts without PSU's and/or cases and leave the assembly to you. Further, they will not credit individuals for parts not shipped. secondly, they completely disregard an order queue and hint that people filing complaints will get their miner when AMT feels like it. All of you out their groveling for your "parts" and "DIY" kits have at it. Might I also suggest you try amazon.com for a little dignity.

Hey AMT I have filed a complaint with EVERY agency there is. I will not settle for anything other than a FULL refund at this point.

Craig I believe we shipped your miner today. When I get to assembly in the afternoon I'll see if I can pull your tracking number.

I do not want your shoddy miner. who knows you probably sabotaged my miner (like Bruno's). I want a refund and nothing more from you scam artists.

I intend to coarsen. I want stark contrasts drawn. I want polarization. I will not quietly accept stateism so as not to upset anyone. I am not tolerant of our impending and increasing slavery.

Yes, I am also afraid to get a miner and only want a refund. They said they were giving certain people "the miners that overheat".

Well that might be true that they said that BUT they did say they disclosed that information to the clients. Keep it in context. Not like they underhandedly sent them that. If so we would certainly know about that already.

But to be clear. They have openly said miners are causing fires/overheating.  I want a refund more now than ever as I fear for my property and family. It is not only my finances strained but safety.

this is true. if they openly said you can have a miner in a case, that may or may not set fire to itself, you and your house and you said "ok" its on you not them. plus anyone who has taken the kit option has to provide a psu and or an lcd screen and accept such purchases as part and parcel of the deal. it seems some people on here wish to have the last nay say about amt. i for one after recieving my "kit" will review the power/performance of the unit. it also gives me the option of customizing, i like the idea of the touch lcd posted before and i may also do custom cooling and casing pictures will follow as soon as things arrive.

edit

your tv may cause a fire if left on stand by and your pc/gpu mining rig may also just go up in flames. amd do not accept responsibility or even disclose that the gpu may explode but it could

Where have they said 'causing fires'? Overheating in the 1st versions, ja. Fires, no. Huge difference.

Now, I HAVE mentioned that BFL had a problem with supplies for their old Jalapenos and Singles rather dramatically blowing out. Confusing with that perhaps?

For those going the dual PSU route and using a desktop case I would recommend this case. http://azzatek.com/csaz-9000-techspec.html It keeps things VERY cool. I have been using it with a passive cooled Xeon setup. The case keeps the airflow going so nicely that I don't even need CPU fans.
There certainly are other options. But this is one of the few that support DUAL PSUs. If you are using this in a home setup. Can even work in a server room as well but I recommend more for the use of a home setup. The sound suppression is pretty good as you can have quite a few fans going in there and it keeps things quiet. I had 4 GPUs in there (for gaming) at one point.

Obviously YMMV with this but considering the amount of fans on the cage, a case that suppresses sound better would be in order. Seems like the best option at this point for most. Might also be something AMT can offer to customers as well as an option (after some testing) would likely solve the whole nuclear explosive miner thing people are going on about (just ratcheting up the exaggerations and out of context comments). This offers a solution.

Proof? Dipshit why do you still defend them. They posted it in this thread in at least two posts. I quoted them in my own posts if you want to take a look. They specifically admitted to sabotaging the miner they gave Bruno.
