I have an issue with one of my Ants where sometimes I find that it has stopped mining (blade LEDs are off), the ethernet LEDs are off, and the control board has the red LED on, and the green LED blinking at 1Hz (half a second on, half a second off).  It is not accessible on the network.

Power off-then-on-again fixes it until the next time (usually days).

Any ideas on the cause or a solution are welcome.

I think my Antminer broke:

Rebooted it once with same result. Do I need to shut it down for a longer period?

Now it does not even recognize the other blade:

It is connected to a Corsair 520w power supply, will test with another one in a few hours.

Switched off and switched to a spare CoolerMaster SPH1050w . Bit of an overkill but it seems to work fine now.

That unit is from a previous batch and has no 6pin port. The 6pin version are scheduled to be delivered today.

A different problem this time. The second unit from batch 5 did not accept root as the password. So I pressed the reset button. Now it does not reply to anything. IP scanner does not show anything.

EDIT: a few more resets fixed it.

So how do you actually start this thing mining?

I logged into it, it's set for 192.168.1.4

I'm trying to apply my eligius pool at Pool 1  stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334

then I entered my address,

Then my password (no password required for eligius) so I just put in x.

Seems to just sit there and says applying changes to /etc/config/cgminer

But it never finishes...

HOw do you actually start it mining once it's configured?? Maybe I'm a total noob...

I got mine with a broken S1 button, not sure what the hell it does but that why I'm posting.

I logged into it once... changed it from 192.168.2.XX to 10.1.10.XX (my business network uses that ip range) and now I can't contact it whatsoever. Tried the reset trick by shorting pin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348327.0, Post 23) as well as trying the IP scanner in this thread, no dice.

Do I have to send the board back?

use ONLY stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

But it never finishes...

HOw do you actually start it mining once it's configured?? Maybe I'm a total noob...

Your miner can't resolve your DNS address. Set it to 8.8.8.8

A lot of the problems on the page are covered in the first page of this topic.

Thanks for trying to help.

I can't even log into it anymore.

I logged into the address on top of the fan, and changed it to 192.168.1.4

Unfortunately, I didn't realized that was my wife's computer....

So, is there any way to reset this thing to the default address? I see this little black button on the network card...

Thanks.

3rd time I've tried that, still don't work.

... le sigh.

Working... futzing with the LAN interface, when WAN needed to be edited.

Ok ! Thanks for all the help ! It worked.

Ok, I think I even know what I did...

I downloaded the Advanced IP scanner, turned off the wife's computer. Then I ran the network scan with the IP scanner. It had somehow set itself to 192.168.1.99, after I had held down the little black reset button for 3 seconds.

Weird I know.

I realized it had started mining for the default pool in the settings, because the power backup alarm on my APC had gone off, as it was pulling (combined with the computers), more than it was rated for.

LOL.

So, I turned off the graphics cards which were sucking 200 wats for LTC mining, set the pool again, and it's happily mining.

If you can't log into it anymore, it's because of some IP conflict with your other computers/printers/whatever on the network, so it helps to try the IP scanner.

Hope my bumbling attempts help somebody...lol. Much appreciated to those who put up with my nOOb questions.

Happy New Year !

I beleive that was the default set into the reset feature.

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

The reason its confusing is because the machine comes with an IP address that is 192.168.2.99, but after hitting the reset button the IP address becomes 192.168.1.99

Also some other new changes are made after hitting the reset button, such as (the fake) LAN is switched to DHCP.

It turns out that using the reset button is a faster way to originally set the devices up, provided that 192.168.1.99 is open on your network.
