Well, it's almost 6:00pm in Cyprus and we've had no update and no coins paid. So I guess the obvious conclusion is that we should be patient for another week and assume that Danny and Ukyo continue to do their best and we should be thanking them for their efforts.
It's almost 5pm there.

Again, Danny said the update would be Friday night.

Would be stupid to pay without consulting the support tickets. The address used 1.5+ month ago might not be valid anymore..
So personally i doubt anything happens today.

Again, Danny said the update would be Friday night. It's fairly obvious that "by Friday" he meant 23:59 UTC-11, so everyone should relax he still has plenty of time....

I agree. But if you read Danny's posts he said that "the coins will be available to the users" and "the process of receiving them" will be ready today.

As was announced earlier, most of the coins that were stored in WeExchange.co are now gone. We are still limited in what we can share about how that happened, and what is being done about it, but we do have some updates.
There are still approximately 386btc available in the wallets. These coins will be paid proportionally to all owed users, based on current user balances, by Monday night.
All old withdrawal requests will be removed and each user will need to initiate new withdrawals when this new balance is ready.
Full instructions on how to access the site to process these withdrawals will be provided by 5pm (GMT+2) on Monday 16th December, when you should be able to withdraw the portion of available funds allotted to your account.
This is far from ideal, but it gets every satoshi that is available to those with outstanding balances. When we are able, we will announce more details on what is being done to repay the remaining coins that are owed to WeExchange.co users.

A couple of questions: 1) What is the total amount of outstanding WeExchange balances? In other words, what percentage of the coins owed is that 386 btc? 2) Is there any news as to the coins owed ukyo.loan owners? Are those coins missing too? Is the repayment plan for that separate from the WeExchange plan?

So you claim some agency got our coins and let some coins in there? Doesnt make sense. Coins cant vanish from addresses magically too and the private keys should be takeable from a broken wallet too. Not to speak of backups. Im interested to hear that story... i dont get it.

Might be a good idea to take a picture of your current balance along with today's newspaper before they "adjust" it...

I wonder how much 386BTC represents in terms of the total BTC Weex had in its possession before the fall? Single figure %?

For what its reported here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=337523.0 it should be ~30% of total coins. Not bad for now I guess.

Tl;DR: Bitcoin's second or third largest bank (Pirateat40's Bitcoin Savings & Trust being the first, with Tradefortress' inputs.io competing for second) steps in to make good on the coin lost in WeEx fiasco remind users to chillax 'till monday. Much hand-wringing ensues. Nothing happens. Nothing ever happens. This is bitcoin. Smells like a classical HYIP scam.
If it were, people would have already known it was and I would have wasted my perfect OTC ratings. Sad

It concerns me that they don't talk about the total btc count. They would do that if a sufficient amount of btc would still be available. Also I'd like to know what the chances are for restoring the coins.

That's not nearly satisfying, and not nearly what we deserve. @Danny, Ukyo, whoever You should consider to come out with the true story immediately. @all who are missing BTC, fiat, shares, whatever We should consider what we want to do. I suggest to give them a deadline. After that take all possible and necessary steps. Edit: What does this crap "the coins are gone" mean at all? Where did they go? Coins don't go by themself.
