The latest shift for the Darkcoin multipool paid out over 51 DRK.

Still need more hash for Scrypt &  more importantly X11 algo. If you're looking for a new home for your X11 hash, bring it over! On average, you'll make the same if not more DRK and you'll help push the price of DRK up. SHA has been holding strong @ ~20Th/s, thanks ya'll!

We have a new multipool in development. This will in effect combine our existing two pools into one which will allow for combined mining efforts increasing the profitability as well as improved statistics and mining features. Stay tuned for this!

Cheers!

The fork didn't help things that's for sure. Several blocks were mined on a fork. But also X11 has been really low fluctuating hash rate, but I see it's bumped up today so will bring it up again.

We're working a newly designed multipool which will combine the hash from both of our pools which will stability profitability a lot better.

Cheers!

Does the .12 need a local MN start?

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied

Usually you guys are on point for defending darkcoin but nothing so far except massive down votes for the darkcoin supporter in this reddit thread.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Depends on what you are updating from. If you are on the latest protocol (example, 11 -> 12), then no.

I do agree with the posters though that it should be considered more of a bug than a vulnerability. BTC hasn't forked in years. But it's harsh in the BTC sub-reddit... about 99% of the time, any altcoin is getting downvoted.

I'm guessing (hoping) people keep asking this question because they don't know how to figure it out.

The next time you update, run darkcoind getinfo first and take note of the protocolversion

{
    "version" : 110012,
    "protocolversion" : 70054,
    "walletversion" : 60001,
...
}

After you update run darkciond getinfo again and see if the protocolversion changed.

If I see a change, I make sure to start from local.

He kind of asked for it by spamming what had been up until that point quite a constructive, sedate exchange. and notching it up a gear into "Darkcoin's great - Darkcoins not great" mode.

The issue was patched in Bitcoin Core 0.9.4 (released just a few days ago), we forked from 0.9.3. So they beat us to fixing it. It's funny though how r/Bitcoin reacts to stuff like this though... crazy.

They're very dismissive of anything that could potentially lower the value of their investment and will update to the front page any interview where bill Gates says the word bitcoin even once.

According to nullc (maxwell I think? Coinjoin inventor / darkcoin hater) the fix in darkcoin is incorrect?

Yeah, I missed the later reference which still causes the client to crash, will be fixed in 11.0.13.

My MN keeps going down on the latest version; I start the daemon on remote but after a bit it goes down.

 ./darkcoind getinfo
error: couldn't connect to server

any hint?

Here's an interesting exchange here between nullc and bkDJ:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2tel4r/vulnerability_in_bitcoin_found_by_darkcoin_dev/cnydw5n

Sounds like there are two issues: one with pindexBestForkBase and another with phashBlock.

The bug is still present in all of 0.9 and has a partial fix in 0.10:
