I really wish the best for Greece, but in the end, the policies will be the same, and I don't see anything good coming from it.  But I'm a lifelong capitalist (now called anarchist???)  Let the people work, innovate, do things, and don't hinder them.  But the far left is always for more government which means more regulations, which means people can't work and innovate, IMO.  Don't get me wrong, I don't like the far left nor the far right.  Both of them want to rule everyone's life and think they know better.  And I'm not against social safety nets either.  I just think there is a balance, and financially - not socially, I'm probably on the right side of the spectrum

 I hear you Tante... all the speeches I've heard by leader Alexis Tsipras are in themselves quite radical, but in a good way. He is openly anti-establishment, and have vowed to hunt down corrupt/capitalist-driven offshores and operations for example. Like blatant misuse of community funds, and prime cause of not being able to pay the loans. No bank bailouts and full sanction to dirty coorporate leaders. And that in no way democracy is at risk. Many many principles voiced out that we crypto-geeks hold so dear.

 But politicians are politicians and we all know how they're like. This "party" came about quite in the opposite manner of any traditional party, nd this will be a grand experiment too... So who knows?

Technical question again ( wish I had some Beta brains like some of you have ), but like Crypto too much.
Is my understanding correct that in case BTC and LTC also want too add stuff that DRK already has ( like Darksend, coin mixing and InstantX ) they are forced also to be forked or "sporked" and make a lot of updates ?

 Not lots of updates because Evan is doing all the hard work and we're his guniea pigs, anyone is free to adapt Darkcoin's opensource technology into their coins at any time.

But absolutely yes, they'd need to fork to adapt Darkcoin's features.

Spreadcoin dev seems to think that he'll have masternodes up and running in a few weeks with InstanTX a few weeks after for example.  Whether this is possible remains to be seen but people are benefiting from our dev team's work and also learning from our mistakes.

I lost a BTC or two worth of drk to directbet. No sob story, its my fault and it was fun as hell. But why don't we chill with letting everyone know how badass drk is and the BTC recovery til I get back on track. No? Well it wouldn't be much of a lesson if it didn't sting a bit. I lost 900 DRK about a month ago lol, it took me a couple of weeks to recover emotionally. I am fine now and buying the DRK I lost back.

I've posted the security advisory on r/Bitcoin, so far it's just getting downvoted. Can we get some upvotes? It's getting downvoted just because it's from a competing currency, however, they should know that all of the mixing technologies they have presently are broken.

LTC hike.. I really thought it was a desperate sot of p&d. Still do. Could be wrong, probably am. I really dont get it. At best BTC would have gone ballistic. LTC is in all major exchanges, its not like it would a huge surprise as LTC is historically the second most value altcoin, and Ripple has radical different protocol.

Shutting down customer accounts is only the tip of the iceberg.  The real threat (and opportunity for DRK) is the live data feed straight to the Feds.

I love tok. If he is going against the grain more power to him, as we need a ton of perspectives being thrown around and he is brilliant. But, to assume that just because only 1 person has identified themselves as having extensive experience in POS... does not mean there is only one person in here with extensive experience in POS. Long story short, we currently have a daily exchange volume of around 75k. If you believe that instantx is not a worthy goal because you find it not to be a perfect fit for supermarkets is.... searching for a polite term here... ridiculous. Drk's marketcap is currently .2% of BTC. If our only goal (which its not) was to improve transaction time for merchants currently accepting btc, and cutting transation time into 1/360th of btcs, I'd say thats more than a worthy goal. Especially considering BTC is just a baby itself. Additionally, as Evan mentioned, it would place DRK as the currency of choice for basically all arbitrage between exhanges and god knows what else. It currently takes + 20 seconds to navigate the debit/cash back options / donations / bs when checking out. I personally do not see much value in these hesitations from our community, but I certainly welcome them. And there is no reason to think given the obsurdly useful nature of instantx that some wouldn't develop a rather sophisticated POS peice of software that would be compatible with DRK, with NO FEES. Do fat cats like fees?

Nail on head. A POS system is just a user interface tied to an accounting/transaction backend, with some agreements in place between the POS supplier and the POS customer.

A user interface tied to an accounting/transaction backend is basically what a wallet and a blockchain are. There already are POS solutions for cryptocurrencies and they will benefit from IX and evolve as market adoption grows, for those that prefer to pay a 3rd party to take care of some of the details for them. And they will be a lot cheaper for companies to use hopefully than existing CC/banking systems.

Having worked in corporate and government large scale IT for a long time, I can so easily concur that retailers will have about as much interest in deploying a POS system that's linked directly to a block chain for a crypto currency such as DRK as they have in accepting gold at the checkout. They're just not interested in being involved in all the mechanics of the transactions down at a technical protocol level. That's why payment processors exist; to facilitate all the techo knowledge, security, integration, back-end accounting, consumer legal protection/adherence to laws, support, loyalty systems interfacing and most of all performance SLAs. Everyone talking about 20 second confirmations and the checkout operator being able to void the cornflakes packet purchase and re-charge it to the next customer in line, etc, is just silliness.

I'll try to take a more favourable view of InstantX now that I'm a bit less concerned about the confirmation mechanism (and that everyone else seems to think it's going to be such a winner).
