Help me How do you work with Bitcoin Gold? By ASIC

At the moment there is no (publicly available) ASIC for BTG yet. It switched in July to Equihash 144/5 which uses more memory then the older Equihash 200/9 from ZCash and currently there are no ASICs for the new algorithm variant to buy yet.

Best way to mine it is on GPU with one of the many CUDA miners like ewbf (this thread), funakoshi, bminer (etc...) or OpenCL based miner (lolMiner).

Check out lolMiner 1.56, an efficient miner for Ethash, Beam and many Cuckoo-Cycle and Equihash variants for AMD & Nvidia cards at low fees.

EWBF, any chance to get error log file, to determine which GPU ID caused crash of program? And as i remember on 0.3.4b was watchdog sentinel? If some gpu cause crash miner restart themself?

Lol... 0.3.5b never existed.. At some point there was a trolling post advertising and offering download of 0.3.5b, but was quickly marked as a boobie trap and removed

Actually you can still find it on some Russian forums: http://forum.bitcoinfo.ru/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=41786

I believe you are going to find your issue is local to your system.

I can get EWBF 0.6 to run for weeks without any problems on every rig I run it on.

So from my vantage point, it has been rock solid.

Maybe if you give more details about your rig, someone here will be able to give you some help.

Like:

O/S and version details
Nvidia driver version
GPU compliment
power and overclock settings
batch or script file details

Great work to the EWBF dev crew. We hope that you can continue to improve your API Bind Error that was reported, as it will allow us reliable stat collection for PiMP OS / miner.farm.

We have had great test results with 0.6, improvement over the previous version, and hope to see more great releases from this team.

Thanks again for making it easy for PiMP OS to support this miner!

this project dead?

I am not understanding why you would ask this.

I mean, EWBF has revised the miner within the last month.

In all due respect, how can you have possibly considered this project to be dead?

hey guys, first of all I would like to say thanks for this great miner, mining for 1+ years, and this is probably the most stable one release I ever tried.

However, a new issue came up for me, maybe somebody (or ewbf) has an idea about it.

I'm mining with some 1060/6's, and a gigabyte aorus 1080ti. Recently I switched to 144_5 wit BgoldPoW pers. All of my 1060's are feeling fine, but there's something up with the 1080: it get's fried. In like 6-7 minutes it reaches 90 celsius, and it happens so fast, ewbf's temp limiter has no chance to catch it around 69-75. The card get throttled down by the driver/bios, which I guess is not a really healthy thing. I tried practically every algorithm combination with every card, and other miners: the issue only happens with ewbf+144_5/BgoldPoW and this piece of 1080ti. I even downclocked the core and the memory, same thing. The cooling is definitely an overkill for the card, I never seen higher values than 50 celsius, with any miners on full load. It has to be some kind of endless loop or something, although, the card pushes solutions finely while the temperature is rising, somewhere around 72 sols/s.

Using nVidia driver 399.24 on Windows 10. I appreciate any tips.

Hi the community,
I think it is true but, but someone can confirm me the EWBF 0.6 miner for Cuda 9.x is compatible with Cuda 10.x ?
I will try a new Cuda installation (currently, I am with a 8.x version) : it is better to install Cuda 9 or directly Cuda 10 for the 0.6 version of EWBF Cuda Equihash miner ?
Thank you.

It's not necessary to install CUDA package. Just install the latest Nvidia drivers for your GPUs. I didn't find any differences between hashrate both on Cuda9 and Cuda10 versions it is the same.

BTC   Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System   BTC
A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution. Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent double-spending. We propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network. The network timestamps transactions by hashing them into an ongoing chain of hash-based proof-of-work, forming a record that cannot be changed without redoing the proof-of-work. The longest chain not only serves as proof of the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest pool of CPU power. As long as a majority of CPU power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to attack the network, they'll generate the longest chain and outpace attackers. The network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcast on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest proof-of-work chain as proof of what happened while they were gone.

Update November 06 2018

ZhashOS Release 3 is now available

-HUGE improvement in setup time and ease with our new SetupWiz. One "new" user reported he was mining in 2 minutes after boot.

-Now includes a enhanced software watchdog that monitors "multiple" GPU parameters for crashes and will reset the miner or restart the desktop depending on what is needed.

-Also now has "SmartFan", a option to run the fans at the "minimum" speed needed to maintain your target GPU temperature. If set correctly, this may extend fan life.

-Added extra support features.

-Turned off unneeded ports in firewall when Remote Desktop is not activated.

-Updated EWBF to 0.6
