Good news guys!!! I dumped my coins about 48 hours ago and made a loss of about 1/3 I bought bitcoindark with the proceeds and today I have made my loss back!!!!
Now that coin is going to the centre of the universe!!!!!
Also if anyone is interested I heard rumours that LTC will go above $30+++ in the next month or so. If you look at the graphs you can see it's already starting to twitch slghtly. another rumour is that BTC will drop to below $250 around the same time. My plan is to get LTC now whilst it's cheap and when it goes up / BTC goes down I'll buy BTC with the LTC Other rumours are BTC will got over $5000 within the next 6-9 months. Hope all of this really happens and helps some of you get some money back?!? Relying on rumors to do trading is foolish and amateur. However if BTC were to fall to 250, there would be plenty of Octo purchased from my end. HAHA thats funny considering Octocoin is one big rumour

But, it's still speculation. Most alts jumped up last time Bitcoin went that high. Octo, is no different.

I mailed to the Devs yesterday via the Octocoin homepage. I told them, the community is getting nervous and that we'd really appreciate a short sign of life! If they abandoned the coin...hell...just admit it to us! Maybe the community should think about taking over the blockchain and do a 51%...wouldn't be so hard at the moment. As you can hear, I'm getting a little bit angry, but it's really more a sort of frustration Not communicating with us for a month is just way too unprofessional for the kind of professionalism they want to achieve...

I was really hoping to earn enough of a return for Vegas I hope that is still a possibility

I noticed that once people were saying you couldn't dump if you wanted to the buy walls started appearing. I put up a 20,000 octo buy and it only filled about 12,000 until people started putting in the buys. I still have about 8000 to go to fill my order. The buy walls were popping up at 60,000 and 120,000.
I mean they aren't constantly there but they tend to pop up. I believe the largest one now is around 30,000 octo.
I mean people are still buying at these low prices. I know I am.
I wonder who else is.

Maybe the Devs are buying, and the lack of information is just a plan to trick us into selling for cheap

I'm still buying with the little bit of BTC I have left in Bittrex. I'm not going to buy any more BTC for 888 unless we get some news from the devs.

Maybe the Devs are buying, and the lack of information is just a plan to trick us into selling for cheap I mean it's possible the devs, exchanges, fusionhash, etc. all could be buying during these down periods with no info from the devs. Every time the price has dipped I've bought extra while people were dumping. I would think those with large pockets would do the same. If that is something the devs are doing, they have reassured us everything is coming. I can't blame them for shaking things up and scooping up the dumps for cheap. Once, again, total speculation here.
They may not have done this nor planned to do this at all.I know this, there are people out there besides me who eat up the dumps. I'm just curious who all is still buying while so many are shaken and dumping? Anybody?

The only reason I haven't purchased more is because I'm expecting about 80 MH of scrypt miner to be showing up at my front door this week. Gonna point them bad boys at a pool and watch the Octo come rolling in

Super jelly of your new mining rig! Wish Fibonacci miners didn't scam me for over $10k. Was looking forward to mining with the Scrypt machines and using my GPU's for the Fusionhash Scrypt-N pool that never materialized. Hoping something positive comes out of this or I'm probably done with crypto.

lol because a shred of our nervousness was replaced with hope? btw, what happened with your miners? did they push them back and just never deliver? 10K is a chunk to lose on bad hardware. joshycoin and i were talking this weekend. besides maybe a love of mining and community, even with scrypt asics, it's almost not worth it to mine except to help secure the network. i mean alts in general. you can almost just purchase bitcoin or litecoin and wait and your ROI will be way greater.

Yea, it's all lip service with them, and most people in the Litecointalk thread agree that we'll never see our miners. I've made good money and lost LOTS of BTC in the past year, but overall, I'm still doing pretty well. Here's to hoping we can see all the 888 devs hard work soon.

August 26, 2014, 07:46:38 PM Last edit: August 26, 2014, 07:57:33 PM by OctoCoin |
|
We have received numerous messages from individuals who are, understandably, concerned about the lack of posts, missed ETA(s), and continued lack of visibility. We apologize for the poor communication and it is important to us that this community understands just how important they are to us (despite what seemingly appears otherwise during certain stretches). Yesterday, we had a board meeting to discuss how we could better balance communication, progress reports, and continued development and we have made it clear to our investors that ensuring this community maintains confidence in OctoCoin as a currency, an investment, and a business is more important than they initially understood. While the initial approach was that our results would do the heavy lifting for us, we are approaching 6 months since OctoCoin went live and a number of you have been with us from the start; we appreciate your confidence and loyalty more than you know - more than we show - and we fully intend to focus more effort on community building in the coming weeks as we begin to roll toward some of our goals and beyond. We have modified a handful of our projects due to slower-than-expected progress with some of the open source technologies we are leveraging but we believe we are making perfect the enemy of the good and, as a show of intent and good faith, we understand the urgent need to release some of these projects publicly even if they aren't 100% where we want them to be. We are working on assembling a hard timeline to make available to the public with penalties for key missed dates.
OctoCoin is bigger than the coin itself and the world will soon realize that there is nothing else quite like this. While we are proud to be a part of this project, it frustrates us immensely when we let this community down. The logistics involved here are insane; creating anything that never existed before is not sanity. Your concerns are heard, we are with you 100%, and we have forcefully broken free from the bulk of constraints previously preventing us from keeping the public communication pipeline more open.
In this world filled with dishonesty and greed, if it feels reckless to continue placing your trust in this faceless, seemingly elusive entity... we cannot blame you - your instincts would be accurate 99% of the time. Every person’s life should include one reckless moment - let this be yours. If you have been with us this long, give us a couple weeks to prove ourselves to you and become a part of history.
We have delivered 6 months of hype - it is time to deliver on the hype. To win without risk is to triumph without glory and, for those still with us, we have unintentionally assured you will certainly not be robbed of glory; we look forward to basking in it together March 2015 in Las Vegas.
