The dev team has been mining since launch and recently bought more used ASIC hardware from FusionHash. I am assuming they are just solo mining since I've never seen them in a pool. Last time we had a conference call with FusionHash, they claimed the OctoCoin guys made up over 25% of the OctoCoin network hash.

Hey bholzer, are they planning on buying fusion hash outright and managing it, or buying it and leaving the management to run it but direct it towards their goals?

Not sure - we have a call on Friday to discuss but my stake is pretty small and I've been quite busy lately so I'm unaware of the specifics. FusionHash isn't doing very well since the bulk of their funding went toward mining equipment/etc and they didn't sell enough private contracts before mining profitability took a hit so I'm all for a sale assuming everything makes sense (I was reinvesting my dividends and now dividends have been completely eliminated). I also know FusionHash has quite a few OctoCoins (well over 2,000,000 anyway) between fees/donations and their own mining as well. The public-facing pools that we use were actually my idea as I wanted a good launch pool for Murraycoin - I am assuming if the OctoCoin guys bought them out they would manage everything differently. I applied for one of the part-time positions at "OctoHub" about 3 weeks ago but haven't heard back yet - seems to be a lot going on over there. I'm trying to get back in the loop on everything but my other ventures are sucking up a lot of my time.

Our black widow blew up, waiting to hear from GAW for hopefully some good news. Week 3 so we paid a LOT for it! I'm sure they'll come through for us but it's a hard wait, especially watching all the octo we can't mine ourselves slip away!

Hi everybody! I just bought some Octocoin last night so I thought I'd come check things out and introduce myself.
I'm a die-hard Murraycoin believer, so when I saw bholzer was interested in and involved with Octocoin, I figured: Good enough for me! Smiley
I'm also a big Foo Fighters fan, so that would be very cool if the Octocoin team were able to get hooked up with the band somehow.

Happy TTGBIF!

Hey Brian!

I've been keeping an eye on your activity over at the Murraycoin thread and knew it was only a matter of time before you'd be here too. Grin
Kudos on purchasing Octos at arguably the best time in these past couple of months.

Up for grabs, a Milo's Artworks "Drinking Octo".  This drawing is 15" X 11".  If you want a hand drawn Octo, here it is!!  Shipped in the US 45000 OCTO, International 50000 OCTO.  The scanner can't grab the whole drawing, but you get the picture!!

Got some spare OCTO sitting around doing nothing?  Since I'm an active OCTO miner (and supporter), please check out www.cryptoforkids.com

For the past decade WLRA Radio/Lewis University (Romeoville, IL) holds a bi-annual fundraiser to benefit Advocate Hope Children's Charities. So far Lewis U has raised over $100,000 for the charity. Twice a year WLRA has a "To kill a DJ" week where students raise money for the charity.
We are Big Burrito Radio (heard on WLRA Saturday mornings at 10AM CST), wanted to come up with different ways of raising money for the charity. We started out doing collections at music events. Then 4 years ago we came up with Island Dreams (www.islanddreamscards.com). Island Dreams is a charity art card set that itself has raised over $10,000 in the past 3 years.
Last year I caught the crypto-currency bug. I thought what a great idea to take crypto and exchange it for BTC for the Children's Hospital! So here we have Crypto for kids!

That's the idea!!  Last spring another ALT DEV sent coin that was dirt cheap!!  I held them till the price went up.  That is where the .5 BTC came from!!  The SYScoin community (SYS is really in the toilet price wise) have donated over 44,000 coins.  That's another one I'll be holding until the price rises.  Anything is appreciated. I'm not spamming all the ALTs, only the ones I mine, use, keep....
