~snip~ I would be very surprise if Australia say yes to this proposal, 99.99% they are going to reject this idea even in hypothetical scenario. They might opt for T-20 World cup any day over IPL as WC is more lucrative for them.
I am not sure whether the T20WC is more lucrative when compared to the IPL. IPL is a multi-billion USD event, but then if they stage it in Australia the revenues may be lower. I agree with your post. Australia may prefer the World Cup over the IPL. That said, there is a proposal from the UAE to stage the tournament there: https://gulfnews.com/sport/cricket/ipl/ipl-uae-an-option-for-hosting-2020-edition-later-this-year-1.71438383The United Arab Emirates, which had hosted the the first leg of Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2014, has emerged as one of the options if the Indian cricket board eventually decides to shift the 2020 edition out of the country. IPL is profitable for BCCI but not much for CA. they might get some percentage of revenue cut from the BCCI, that's it ... bigger share belongs to BCCI. Plus there is some romanticize factor with the World Cup. If BCCI thinking about shifting IPL then Sri Lanka seems better candidate to me as its close to India so not much fuss about logistics and SriLanka has lower cases of Covid-19 in comparison of UAE. BCCi will never go to UAE as now its not profitable for them and Sri Lanka is better option for them but still most chances they will cancel this year event and try to have some better work for next years event as peoples will more hungry and they can take good advantage with this all.

This is the time where we all get in front of our TV and watch the live IPL matches and enjoy the wickets, four, sixes etc. But now this time it has being a different only by watching the highlights of previous seasons and seeing some spectacular catches, magnificent sixes hits compilations and enjoying the game as other like one of the cricket fans. Will have to wait for the next annoucement of IPL status.
We have to bear all this as sometimes unexpected does happens. Do not hope for IPL to be played anytime soon. The death toll in India is increasing every day, as in most of other countries too and in these situations gaming / Sporting events are highly unlikely to happen.

Is there any country that is corona free . Every country is struggling to cope up with the situation and some made a decision to accept the virus and move on economically but that does not mean that sporting events will be starting soon, IPL nor any sporting events is more important than the safety and security of the players. If the government decides to give a green signal for the IPL to divert the issues that is going on, then we might see them conducting inside India and not anywhere else.

No one will debate against safety and security of the players but what if they can conduct the sporting event with all the necessary precautions. The UFC recently conducted an event and some of the sports body is trying to find ways to restart everything and if the BCCI could test every player and when they are in a public space they can wear masks and gloves and once all the players are in camp and everyone is tested then there is a possibility.

Developed countries now ready for this all and we have Korean Soccer now from 16th May Bundesliga is also going to start mean they done their own work and now can take chance but for me here in Sub-Continent we are not near this all so we cannot take any chance and if BCCI feel any alternative is better then they can take their own decsion but as many saying safety is priority for all.

Yup like, India doesn't have any other priorities than hosting IPL? Why you guys so noob, even they will try to host, no International players will be allow to enter into Indian territories and if no International players involved forget about brand value of IPL, BCCI cant take risk of loosing of Brand Value. we are loosing 100's of life daily, infecting 1000's of daily and we fool are discussing here, when to start IPL. UFC is not not a team game and it's individual sports and personal gain to those who got involved. In IPL International level players play, don't think any board will allow to give NOC to their player in this pandemic time.

~snip Yup like, India doesn't have any other priorities than hosting IPL? Why you guys so noob, even they will try to host I was not talking about conducting the IPL, i just said there are options if they really wanted to carry on with the tournament on a topic where they were discussion about moving the event outside India. no International players will be allow to enter into Indian territories and if no International players involved forget about brand value of IPL, BCCI cant take risk of loosing of Brand Value. we are loosing 100's of life daily, infecting 1000's of daily and we fool are discussing here, when to start IPL. In IPL International level players play, don't think any board will allow to give NOC to their player in this pandemic time. Assuming they were carrying with the tournament no international players will be allowed to play but if you say that the brand value of IPL is players outside BCCI control then you are wrong. The brand value is the amount of population they have and the amount of money they can dispense. I accept the argument that UFC is a individual sport but what if they could test everyone and no outside contact until the tournament is over .

TLDR: Q: How much loss if IPL doesn't takes place? A: Around INR 4000 crore.... approximately $400 Millions?... please someone do the math I million dollars is roughly around 7.54 crores at current market rates which is why 400 million translates to around 3016 crores at current market rates. Insane amounts, but expected. The next couple of IPL seasons would need to be successful for them to regain their losses. Q : Priority from now on? A : Health but if there is any opportunity available then would like to see IPL.
Its basically the same for everyone under current conditions. There is 0% chance for IPL this year which is why they need to prepare for next year.

This is really the big money involved and also states would like to get benefits of tax and other things which would help them make some money. Now thing is that rains will begin, and nothing could happen before October. After that their would-be series of some countries lined up and not possible to get the top players for IPL. So will a mini IPL format could be considered here and where players can play for couple of matches and go back something like that only could happen. Will depend on how cases constantly rise or fall in Covid and then only anything will be thought.

Health must be the utmost priority and loss of money does not matter as long as you are taking measure controls to remain healthy and safe in these conditions. Just consider if the tournament is held in these conditions and some player become infected with covid 19, it will bring a bad name for the cricket board and all the officials.

I am not much knowledgeable in this subject, so someone can educate me. In Sri Lanka, the Monsoon season is going to last until end of October. So I don't know how it is possible to stage the tournament there, unless they are playing the matches either in indoor stadiums, or grounds with retractable roof. UAE and Australia are viable, because they are mostly free from rains during this period.

It is very much required but where can it be organized. I just heard that the situation will worsen more within a few months. The only option left is to organize these matches in empty stadiums. That also comes with high risk. I guess they have to wait till June end to see if any opportunity will arise to conduct IPL.

As far as i know SriLanka dos not have any indoor stadiums and seriously will the Indian fans will agree to host their favorite tournament in srilanka and not in their home ground India ? Will the players from Australia, England and other countries willing to travel to srilanka to play the IPL ?

To avoid the potential loss, if BCCI decides to host this season on Srilanka, why not? It's true that a lot of fan would never love that but if possible it should be done and I think there will be no problem with players from other country to play in Srilanka.

I do not think BCCI and the government of India will agree in conducting the matches in Srilanka. The government not India has started a new mantra of self reliant and promoting anything locally. Now in such circumstances I do not think the government will allow BCCI in hosting Indian Premier League in Srilanka.

70k + cases and counting so yeah tough time. Yes. I was talking about the weather. As far as I know, the monsoon season in Sri Lanka runs parallel with the same in India, with the same duration. And also, the island is prone to very heavy rainfall during the Monsoons. That should automatically increase the chances of either Australia or the UAE hosting the tournament (given the fact that both these countries are mostly rain-free during this period).
