Brilliant suggestion, now they will realise their mistake and start working on the construction of Cricket stadiums at remote location of India. This will not only improve the infrastructure of that location but will also create employment opportunities for the locals. I would support this suggestion. I am from the Northeastern part of India and would like to see more international quality stadiums here. In the North-west, they have a very beautiful stadium at Dharamshala. Similarly, we can have stadiums in cities such as Gangtok, Imphal and Darjeeling. All these locations have excellent scenery, and the fans would love these places.

The decision has been taken at the ICC board meeting last Friday shows that they have three options for the upcoming T-20 World Cup. 1) The first option allows crowds with a 14-days quarantine as per the T20 global schedule. 2) The second is that there will be no spectators in any stadium during the T-20 World Cup. 3) The third option is to move the tournament to 2022. The first option is an impossible task, you cannot expect every audience to be responsible and place himself in quarantine so that they will be able to watch a match. The ICC needs to spend more money to monitor every ticket holder and it is not going to happen. The second options is possible but are they prepared to go on with the match without any audience, the third option is realistic as to push the world cup to 2022 but it will be hard for the senior players who are on the verge of retirement.

Yes, as far as I know, ICC has taken the second option. You know that T-20 World Cup is going to be resumed on 18th October. ICC has decided to test corona twice a week to ensure the safety of the players, they will keep all team members in quarantine for 14 days, and there will be no audience in the gallery. All the decisions of the board seem beautiful. ~ So those who want to watch the match should keep themselves in quarantine and remain away from their jobs, study & business only to watch the match ? This option is really ridiculous! ICC has announced their schedule according to the second option.

ICC and Cricket boards pushing the idea of quarantine for players before they enter in any country. Cricket Australia, ECB and BCCI already seems to agree with this idea even Indian /English Captain Virat and Joe Root are in favor of this initiative.

Crowd, with 14-day quarantine? What do they mean? Are they going to quarantine 30,000 people per match for two weeks? This is the most ridiculous suggestion I have heard since the start of the pandemic. Have they completely lost it?

Exactly. For the ICC, most of the revenues come from TV rights and sponsorship. Gate collection represents only a very small fraction. Therefore I don't even understand what they are trying to do here. Just for 2% or 3% increase in revenue, are they going to put the lives of tens of thousands of people in danger? Is it that difficult to conduct the matches with zero crowd?

I hope these are just suggestions, you cannot quarantine an entire state because they are planning to conduct a tournament . If the situation is not favorable then moving the tournament to 2022 is not a bad idea but if they are planning to resume cricket with precautions then they can do that with the help of ICC with the help of government and all this can be conducted without any audience.

Well in this case just for IPL to happen the World Cup May get postponed and their may be some objections raised by some of the boards I think considering which is the bigger of the two . One is run by BCCI and other by ICC . Hopefully their are no major retaliation and fans are able to see the cricket whichever it may be .

I guess CA and BCCI are on same page and their interest aligns with eachothers. - If T-20 WC gets cancels then BCCI is winner, in case IPL takes place in OCT-NOV. BCCI might earn heavy amount approx $400-$500 Millions from the IPL in comparison of $80 Millions from the T-20 WC. - In return BCCI will play Bilateral series with the CA which is schedule in Dec this year. Winner is CA Rest of the cricketing nations should raise their voice if that happens.

I am still expecting the ICC to carry on with the T20 world cup even though it will be pushed next year, since ECB, CA and BCCI controls everything i am eager to see the position of ECB in this situation, if they voice their concerns regarding this do you think that they will sort the issue by having another bilateral series with England and sort the issue . We are in a situation where it is difficult to understand what is going on behind the curtains and if there is a clarity on when we will see cricket matches back in action, we can speculate the best case situation.

I don't think that the "Rest of the cricketing nations" can do much about it. Dozens of overseas players appear in the IPL. The best players from all the countries (with the exception of Pakistan) participate in the tournament, and for them the IPL is the major revenue source (in most cases IPL salaries account for 80% or more of their annual revenues). But still, I want the BCCI to make a deal, such as allowing a major ICC tournament sometime in 2021 (in addition to the T20 World Cup).

In terms of revenue, IPL is more beneficial for everyone. Also, the logistics involved with the T20 World Cup can me much more complicated, as it involve 16 teams from all around the world. On the other hand, the IPL can move forward with just 8 teams, all from India. With international flights not opetating, ferrying these teams to Australia is going to be a herculean task.

So all three have their cash cow tournaments assigned . The virus situation is a bit tricky but they can carry on with the tournament, they will be faced some losses especially the gate money but their major revenue is television deals and as long as they can provide the contents then they will be getting the money. I just like to watch good matches whether it is IPL or world cup as i do not have a patriotic outlook as my country is not playing cricket . But i did not understand why IPL will be a refresher for ICC and other boards, do they get any payment ?.

Cricket economy is bit tricky, if i have to put it simply then would say India is biggest cashcow and every cricket board want to get into bed with the BCCI. IPL is literally a lifeline for many players and more profitable than the T-20 WC. This article sheds some light with the different scenario, its coming from the BCCI perspective so you can make your own judgement. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/ipl/top-stories/world-cricket-cannot-afford-cancellation-of-ipl-sundar-raman/articleshow/75838288.cms
