WTC final is a one-off match, but for sure the Indian selectors can do some experimentation with selection for the remaining 4 matches.

They will surely make some changes in the squad and we might witness new names in the rank, especially for the Windies tour as it's considered an easy tour.

After this maybe new guys can make their cases for the SA tour, which is a tough tour for India and winning there still remains a pipe dream for the Indian team.

South Africa is going to be a tough tour, at least for the batsmen. Facing bowlers such as Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen and Lungi Ngidi is not going to be easy, especially in tracks that offer a lot of support for the batsmen. That is why I would like the selectors to make some experimentation during the West Indies tour. If someone performs well, then let them be included for the Protean tour. Anyway let's not forget the fact that players like Virat and Rohit are all in their mid 30s. Within the next 3-4 years, Indian selectors need to find replacements for them.

As of now it's time for having some changes even I will like we have team without Kohli and Rohit for the West Indies tour because they still capable of winning and having positive impact as well for the future because currently players pool is good, and we have too many players which can perform better in all conditions specially in West Indies where bowling is also below average.

But, no doubt after this South African tour is never been easy specially as now bowlers new brigade is also ready Anrich Nortje, Marco Jansen and Lungi Ngidi these are doing impressive bowling under experienced campaigner Kagiso Rabada which is now their leading bowler and have depth to done in any conditions.

Furthermore I hope that they’ll be asked to leave gracefully but if they refuse then they’ll be suddenly be dropped and thus I strongly feel that they should at least be given a farewell match or one last series to mark their achievements which they have achieved while playing for team India.

Rohit is a nice guy! He would gracefully retire from international cricket after the World Cup. Virat is still looking good, and he might continue for a couple of years. I do not think Virat should retire at the moment either. He is fit and doesn't get injured so easily. People like me love his energy and aggressive attitude on the field. There are a few bowlers who will announce their retirement after the World Cup. Retirement is a big decision for any player. They have given their whole life to a particular game. Players tend to avoid it as long as they are fit Look at MSD, he has been contemplating retirement from IPL. He is fit, and that is why he is still playing.

Most of the prediction states that Rohit Sharma and senior players will announce retirement once after the 2023 World Cup. I don't think the selection committee will easily take away the captaincy from Rohit Sharma. Atleast till the World Cup we can expect him to be the captain of India. In this season he hasn't performed well. However Rohit Sharma and other senior players need to come forward and retire atleast by 2024. Right now more players were identified and are queued for the national team.

I want Hardick Pandya as T20i and ODI captain then captain for the test format with few players in two formats are enough because now pool is already extended and things could be helpful if we have players for two formats each and captain could be also for white ball and red ball as well.

If Pant is coming back and have good performance then surely things could be good for him to lead in test format and assist Pandya into ODI or have to stay as assistant of Pandya in both T20i and ODI with better player for the test format is also OK because now need to have policy no player will be gone for the all three formats just two formats are OK for every player which will be helpful to have some rest as well with surely increase performance of players.

Rohit used to be a different player earlier. Now he wasn't able to go for such shots. Maybe it can be the captaincy pressure. The broadcasters portraying the team under Hardhik is pure business, because the media needs viewers. In today's match he played good, but he isn't that confident with his shots.

In previous Eng-Pak we have seen some fastest batting in test match too from Eng batsmen just like ODI. Test matches are now rarely seen as people are interested more in short formats. It is the same way like people want to invest in memecoins rather than Btc because they want short profit, similarly people want short term games because they have no time to watch test match.

Today I checked fixture for test matches and found only some matches that will be played in june. Ind-Aus match will be interesting to see as both team will try to make this victory their own.

If money and their commitment to their franchise are a concern then they can play IPL and there is no problem at all but almost everyone rightly believes that young blood should chip in the national white ball setup. Having said that i hope BCCI takes these 2 guys into confidence and talk, unlike the Gangully-Kohli drama.

No one will complain as long as these senior guys score runs regularly. At this point, only Virat is scoring runs and others are being inconsistent, including Rohit, Pujara and Rahane. And it makes zero sense to retain non-performers in the test squad, when so many talented youngsters are waiting for their chances. The very fact that Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sarfaraz Khan haven't made the test debut yet, points to the uselessness of performing in the Ranji Trophy competition. These players have been performing consistently in domestic cricket over the years. It doesn't make sense to retain senior players year after year, despite not scoring runs.

Cricket is a very favorite game of almost all people but Test Cricket game takes a lot of time for which many people don't have time to watch Test Cricket matches. But T20 matches are watched by all people so T20 matches are very popular. I don't watch Test Cricket matches.  I don't have much time. I find Test Cricket matches very boring for which I don't watch much. But I enjoy T20 matches starting from ODI matches.

Pujara is doing well in county cricket, and I guess he will be OK in the WTC final. Don't think that Gill will be able to perform down the order. He is suited to the role of opening batsmen, and doesn't have the consistency while batting down the order. Whatever experimentation the selectors want to do, they need to do that during the West Indies tour. South Africa tour is going to be tough. If all the Protean players are available (i.e injury free), then for the first time in many years the Indian batsmen would have to deal with raw pace in seam-friendly conditions.

Unfortunately, atm we don't have many candidates for the test captaincy. Iyer is a good leader but he's injury prone, Gill is way too young for this role, Pant shouldn't lead the team as well, as you don't want to put too much pressure on him. In recent times there is no bowling captain culture in the Indian team. Rahane was also a good leader but his place is not safe anymore. KL already got sacked, tough times in the leadership department.

The ego war between Dada and Kohli messed up this situation. Kohli could've remained the captain for a couple of more years easily.

Don't think that Gill will be able to perform down the order. He is suited to the role of opening batsmen, and doesn't have the consistency while batting down the order.

He's suitable for the top 4 in the Test team. In ODI he likes to bat at 3 (Similar to u-19 WC). There was no slot for the 3-4 position in the Indian team (test), that's why he started batting as an opener.

After watching Irish performance against Bangladesh in ODI series and last few matches in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh I am feeling they could be not good side even in long run because they have no potential for the best like we have Afghanistan or Bangladesh, but sadly these are also not doing good in long run due to their poor domestic setup which is not allowing them for having better things for the test format and improvement in quality.

I have to say Ireland actually performs well against Bangladesh. It is true that Ireland was unable to win. But they have actually shown fighting spirit. First of all, I do not think that England should underestimate Ireland.

I know it is actually quite laughable to some people because England is never actually going to be beaten by Ireland. But I think this can be a good practice time for the English players. I am also actually happy that England is bringing in Jonny Bairstow because after the injury he is going to have a good time playing against Ireland in my opinion. This is also going to give him confidence.

The last time these two teams met in test format was back in 2019 (when William Porterfield was the captain), and back then Ireland got bundled out for just 38 runs (Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes shared all the 10 wickets between them). To this day, it remains as the lowest total ever made by Ireland in a test innings. Just hope that they will put up a decent performance this time, and may at least manage a three-digit total.

They have indeed shown some improvement from 2019 till now but they are no match against England at the moment. England is one of the top 3 teams in test cricket. Whereas Ireland ranks 12th on the list of top test teams, one of a test match against England is a wonderful opportunity for them. Am I the only one that feels that Ireland is getting more opportunities across all formats compared to other teams?

I mean there is Zimbabwe above them and then there is Scotland below them but I haven't seen these two teams getting more test games than Ireland in this year.

I don't know. IMO, their quality went down after 2019. Still they are unable to replace their players who retired recently, such as Kevin O'Brien, Boyd Rankin, William Porterfield and Tim Murtagh. But now there is hope for them. The fund allocation from the ICC has been increased by more than 3 times. Cricket Ireland can use at least part of these funds to improve the quality of domestic cricket and to construct new infrastructural facilities such as stadiums and training centers. At this point, they may be the strongest tier-2 test team. Don't think that Zimbabwe are above them.
