Anyone interested in the test match between Ireland and England? Ireland just won a tour match against one of the county sides (Essex) by a big margin. The test match will be played at Lord's, starting from 1st June. England has announced a full-strength side as the will use this opportunity to get some match practice for their next series (Ashes, starting from mid-June). Quite packed schedule for test cricket in June. First we have the WTC finals from 7th June onwards, and then the Ashes will start on 16th June. And then there is a test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan scheduled for 14th June.

I am interested in Ireland vs England Test match. Currently England team is ranked 3rd in the world, Ireland is not in 1-10. England is strong team in Test. And England will become stronger in their own ground. In this case, Ireland will play Test and ODI with Bangladesh. The match has been played. Ireland has played relatively well there. England has declared a strong team. I expect Ireland team to play well with England team. England cricket board has announced this squad as more international matches are ahead of England team. This will allow England team players to prepare themselves more fully. I am looking forward to see some centuries and some amazing bowling action. Hopefully the England team will not disappoint.

IPL is over and now waiting for 2023 ICC World Test Championship final to start. Only a week or so left for this event to commence. A lot of pressure would be on Rohit Sharma. He has been struggling with his form and has not be able to deliver his capataincy to the best of his capabilities in ICC tournaments. Good news is that Kholi, Gill, Kishan and Rahane looked impressive in IPL. Expecting them to deliver their best in the finals. India's bowling is now one of the strongest USP. I doubt we will miss Bhumrah in the finals.

LOL.. I don't agree with your views. You are assuming that players like Gill and Rahane will carry their good form to the WTC finals. But you are forgetting the fact that these two are vastly different formats. And they will be up against Australia, whom I consider to be one of the top test teams at this point (and probably the only team that can challenge the Indians in the longer format). Bumrah's injury is going to be a concern, but I guess Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj will be able to trouble the Australian batsmen. BTW, is Pujara going to be in the playing XI?

Considering their present form with presence of mind and the right short selection they would be able to deliver what is expected of them. Always being negative and judgemental will come back to you. The condition will definitely favor the Aussie as it's SENA but we shouldn't forget that this Indian team has already beaten them in 4 consecutive BGT series (home and away). IMO the only pressure is that it's the ICC tournament and we are certified chokers in knockouts and finals.

Pujara will simply walk into playing XI, virtually no doubt about it.

Here I am feeling you are taking T20i form useful for the batsmen into test which is mostly not works because this transition have many issues with change of conditions are also having his impact as well even right now India having physiological edge against Australia after winning BGT trophies but still this is completely different competition where Indian needs to be aggressive and well-prepared because here their track record is also not good in long run.

With Bumrah is surely going to be missed by fans, but now we have good backup which need more experience which will help them for having better results in coming years right now batting is having quality, but consistency is also problem hopefully now after good season in IPL we will have good from these in this final as well.

T20 and test are both very different formats. So, I do not know if it is very intelligent to think that the players who have performed really well in the T20 format are going to do well in the test format as well. And that is also when the test match is going to be played only after a few days. Don't get me wrong, they are obviously incredible players and I don't think people actually care about test cricket that much, to be honest. But it is a very different format when compared to the T20. So expecting something great from them might not be the best idea.

T20 and test are both very different formats. So, I do not know if it is very intelligent to think that the players who have performed really well in the T20 format are going to do well in the test format as well. And that is also when the test match is going to be played only after a few days. Don't get me wrong, they are obviously incredible players and I don't think people actually care about test cricket that much, to be honest. But it is a very different format when compared to the T20. So expecting something great from them might not be the best idea.

The match taking place away from the home makes it even more interesting. Soon after a big league back to the game for the nation. Both were obviously different, and the players have got well adopted to these kind of situations. The playing members might haven't got good rest, but they'll be in good connect with cricket unlike the format. Even this helps with making better performance. The match being played on extremely different weather condition seems to trouble the players performance. Lets see what the Indian cricket squad able to do against the Australia team, as we're few days away for the match.

The WTC final is taking place only a few days after the IPL final. It is going to be difficult for the players. IPL was played in India, under conditions that were supporting batsmen. Format is different as well. Weather conditions are going to be a lot different in England. And from what I have heard, the BCCI has refused to arrange warmup matches for the Indian team as well. So a well prepared Australian team is going to be facing an under-prepared Indian team. Apart from Pujara (who has been playing county cricket), other Indian players are going to take some time to adjust.

It is unlikely that Jaiswal will be included in the playing XI. There are already three contenders for the slot of openers - Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul. And only two among them will be selected. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli are certain as no.3 and no.4 in the squad, and the same can be said about Ajinkya Rahane at no.5. Ravindra Jadeja will be no.6 and the slot of wicket keeper will go to KS Bharat. Now where they are going to accommodate Jaiswal? Anyway Yashasvi Jaiswal is a standby player who will be considered for selection only in case some of the regular players get injured.

Bangladesh A team is now playing the last match of the 3-match Test series against the West Indies A team. At the end of the first innings, the West Indies team managed to collect 445 runs. Bangladeshi bowler Nasum Ahmed bowled well in the first innings. He bowled 38.2 overs and managed to take 5 wickets. Musfik and SHoriful also picked up two wickets each.

Bangladesh is as usual weak in Test format. And Bangladesh A team's situation is similar. Bangladesh drew the first match. And they lost the second match. Bangladesh scored 22 runs in the third match and still did not lose any wickets. But there is little chance that Bangladesh will win. The match will be a draw or West Indies will win.

I rechecked the squad and found out Kishan is in the squad as well, he reached there along with Rohit. Jaiswal is on stand by list replacing Ruturaj (he's getting married).

Also while Smith is a good captain but changing the captain now would not be a wise call as Australia will need him to be properly motivated for this match and this demotion will definitely hurt him and effect his form.

Gill has proven in the past that he can bat in a five day format. With his current form and impeccable timing I do feel that he will deliver his best. Rohit has been out of form and somewhat out of fitness for sometime now. I am not expecting any thing from him but I do expect smart decision as a captain. He has the habit of nagging about his players and not taking them in confidence. He did that in BGT when he talked about Ashwin and Jadeja.

Australia is not an easy team to defeat in test cricket. They are very much adapted to the climate and the pitch in England. India is not a weak team, they have beaten Australia in test format more than multiple times. The team is fresh and is most players are in form. All they need is good decision maker and a good luck to win the test world cup.

Because if Bangladesh is 250 or 300 runs behind the West Indies in the first innings, Bangladesh may be invited to bat again by the West Indies A team. In that case, the chances of Bangladesh losing by innings are very high. I had a bit of faith in the front row batsmen but the way they got out now I don't have a bit of faith in these batsmen who will see Bangladesh all out against West Indies at any moment. Because tomorrow when Bangladesh will start batting in a new way and West Indies will start bowling with a new ball, it will be very difficult for the Bangladeshi batsmen to face the new ball.
