Zimbabwe showed a very good performance in today's match. Zimbabwe did well today in both bowling and batting. Zimbabwe won this match by 5 wickets. But I thought at first that the runs Ireland scored were not the right runs to win them. But Ireland will perform so poorly.  I didn't think that.

It was never going to be possible for Ireland to defend the score they scored. Even a score of 200 is not safe in T20 cricket at the moment, so it is not fair to expect that you can win a match by scoring just 113 in your first innings.

There was a bad performance on the part of Ireland, and a good performance on the part of Zimbabwe. In fact, Zimbabwe had a very effective all-round performance throughout the match. In the end, Zimbabwe was able to secure a comfortable victory. In order to remain in this series, Ireland will have to win the next match if they wish to stay alive.

The problem is Sri Lanka was not even able to play the whole 50 overs. Sri Lanka finished their innings with 62 balls left. That is certainly not good. And the score was never going to be enough for Sri Lanka to beat India.

As expected India reached the target quite easily. But India also lost 6 wickets in that process. I believe that if Sri Lanka was able to play the whole 50 overs they could get enough score on the board to actually win because this was not a batting track. India reached the target with 40 balls left and made sure that they have already won the series.

In both ODI India completely outclass Sri Lanka in all fields but good thing happening for the Sri Lanka as their youths are taking good lessons from these mighty Indians which will help them in near future because currently they are under development and needs good time for having better results in all formats first match was high scoring but in second Sri Lanka bats first which was not good because few early wickets give them setback and after this middle order batting also not able to have any positive contribution but thanks to Wellalage which helps them for having score more than 215 because once I was feeling they could be not able to touch this figure of 200, but things ended good for them and after this in bowling they have also done good job with having few early wickets, but Indian batting is very long to they win this match easily.

But I think the credit behind today's game win has to go to India's bowlers as most of them were active in taking wickets today and among them Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj contributed brilliantly with their each three wickets.  I think Sri Lanka will not be able to win if India has this position in the upcoming third ODI match.

We can't say Sri Lanka performed bad, maybe in the batting they missed it. With bowling they did the best. In the powerplay they managed to take 4 wickets, but India kept the run rate undisturbed. This lowered the pressure over the batsmen, and Rahul took the right stand at the right time creating partnership with Hardhik. If that partnership was broken, the match could've gone even closer. Let's see what's gonna happen in the third ODI. Sri Lanka will try the maximum to win the match, than ending the series whitewashed.

We can't say Sri Lanka performed bad, maybe in the batting they missed it. With bowling they did the best. In the powerplay they managed to take 4 wickets, but India kept the run rate undisturbed. Sri Lanka were 100 for 1 at one point and there was a point when the betting odds for Sri Lanka scoring above 330 runs were 1.4 and so that says a lot when they mess up completely and score well below par at 215 runs. May be the pitch was bad and dried up completely by the 15th over because everyone struggled to score runs after that. They should prepare better pitches for ODI if they want the format to survive.

Yes, it was Russell I was referring too. I hate hindi commentary because of Akash Chopra. He sounds so dramatic & always talking nonsense. I admire Sunny ji, Deep Dasgupta reminds me of Sanjay Manjarekar and I hate his fake ascent. Murli Karthik is a crap, not so sure about Agarkar.

After yesterday's match KL Rahul has confirmed his berth in the playing 11 for this year. One good innings from last year till yesterday and this guy has secured his position. I won't deny that if he had gotten out India might have lost the game by a narrow margin.

I am expecting a lot of changes in the final ODI. I am referring to those talents who have been sitting in the dressing room and admiring the views since India has already won the series.

Pakistan VS Newzealand

The final ODI of this series will be played today. As this match is the decider I am hoping Pakistani batters take some ownership and not rely only on Babar Azam. Newzealand would be far much confident after the last win. They know the loopholes of Pakistani batting and would like to exploit it once again.

But I am also worried about the selection conundrum within Indian squad. Rohit is doing the same thing that Virat did, i.e intervening in the selection process. Shubhman Gill is very close to him and therefore he selected him ahead of Ishan Kishan (despite the fact that Ishan has been in terrific form). Umran Malik was selected ahead of Prasidh Krishna. It worked well, and Umran picked up wickets although he leaked plenty of runs. But I thought that Prasidh also deserved at least one match.

I mean they are quite good when they stick to cricket and not some random talk. Sunny ji is pure gold when he talks about batter's mindset etc. I know Sanju Manju gets a lot of hate but he's also quite good on technical stuff and i guess only unbiased commentator from India atm. I believe when they get on BCCI's commentary contract then their bias comes naturally because you don't want to piss on your boss but when they are contracted with channels then they are pretty good.

There may be nepotism in the squad, but if you fill it with performance, there will be no criticism. From the beginning i Expected Suryakumar Yadav to replace Shubman Gill. Because at this time Suryakumar Yadav is performing exceptionally well. Maybe he could have done better this time if the chance is given in the match. But I'm sure the current squad will be changed before the World Cup.

LOL.. agreed with that. Anyway, I believe that Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav are two of the best batsmen available for India at this point. Rohit doesn't want to consider them, then fine. India can win without these two players, because they have so much depth in their player pool. And currently none of the other teams are having this luxury. Not even England, New Zealand or Australia. Now choosing between Virat and Rohit for the captaincy is like making a choice between Botulinum and Potassium Cyanide.

The third-last ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan in Karachi today is crucial for both teams. It can be considered as a do or die match especially for the two teams, in the first ODI Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets, in the second ODI New Zealand made a great comeback to beat Pakistan by 79 runs to equalize. But in today's game, Pakistan is batting brilliantly and as of writing this post, Pakistan has scored 222 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 42 overs. However, if Pakistan can set New Zealand a target of three hundred runs in this game, then Pakistan can win the game.

Now Pakistan are the favorites to win this ODI series. Despite losing Shan Masood early, they got to a very respectable total of 280/9. New Zealand bowlers were expensive today and Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson leaked more than 6 runs per over. But to their credit, they bowled well in the end. At one point Pakistan was 225/4 after 42.3 overs. In the next 7.3 overs they could score only 55 runs and lost 5 wickets. Apart from Agha Salman, no other batsmen contributed for Pakistan towards the end. Unless there is a miracle, Pakistan is going to win this match.
