hmm.. is this legit?
There are only 2 good choices. Spondoolies and Bitmain. Steer clear of everyone else.

Please, could you guys point me to any feedback about people's experiences with hosting their miners in Spond's datacentre? Thanks
I did not go with the Sp-Tech's hosting option with my SP10 orders, or SP30. I wanted the h/w in hand first, but now that's i've touched the bloody things (actually more like after hearing the bloody things) I am going to get them hosted. Just started the process here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622998.msg6957832#msg6957832More updates to come ... Cheers, QG

Hi all. 1) New FW version is out - check it out. It *should* give you 1 more % and let you play with DC2DC limits - just don't exaggerate. It won't help you if your limit is in AC2DC, but it can give a bit more juice in some situations. If you don't like it you can go back to 1.3.16 - I am keeping it on the server. 2) I heard the FANS of SP30 today, and it is really quiet compared to SP10. Low pitch and way lower volume. Would not put it in my bedroom still, but you almost don`t hear it from the next room - and that is in `turbo` mode. But maybe it's just me going deaf from sitting in a room with 6 SP10s.

zvisha, Thanks for that info, will be interesting to see if you can tweak it over the weeks ... are the fans in the SP30 PWM controlled? I'll also check out the new firmware, must say that my SP10s are coping well in quite warm conditions at present ... but loud ... one unit just seems to resonate and make vibrating noises.

Yes, they are PWM controlled. I see that the noise issue is by far the most problematic issue of SP10, I don't expect it will a problem at all in SP30. We will still provide ways to control the FAN level, but I don't think people will have a problem with the turbo mode in SP30 even in house.

I really hope this is the case, I wanted to invest in SP10's but the 1 I have is unfortunately intolerable as is I will give this firmware a try, I haven't been able to crack 1.34 with my SP10 at 245v even at intake temps of 20c overnight.

Have you tried any of the "quiet" modes? Still loud, but definitely takes some of the shrill edge off it.

Did you run it for 30 minutes? The thermal limits takes time to kick in...

Cheers, QG I found a guy in the US, friend of a friend in Kansas, who said hed host the SP10 for $75 a U rack space. He also said 220V power wasnt an issue to hook up. If this goes through successfully I may ask him if other people can contact him. That would be TWO SP10s at $225 a month or one SP30 at $150 a month since they only bill in WHOLE U space.

Not all that sure Kansas is that far off on this elec rate? Searing

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I sent him the device specs as 1250 watt each for SP10 and 2500 watt for SP30. I told him the bandwidth usage is pretty low. I'm guessing its under 100kbps average throughput. Might have helped.
I got the price quoted as $75 per U so I'm taking that to the bank. I told him they would pull about 60 - 70kWh per day for the two.
I know a Dell 2950 runs dual 750 or 800 Watt PSs and SCREAM with the fans running at hyper speed, push some heat, so its not an astronomical request for 1250 watts each.
I told him as well my next one would be 2U, 2500W, dual PS and 220V and he said sure, no problem. The guy is my hero.
I think I may be getting the friends and family discount though since hes good friends with my buddy here in Japan.
At that price, Im jumping fast and hes never changed his mind.
Only issue is static IPs only there. They wont do reservations.
So these guys have to plug it in, find the IP via DHCP if they can, and then configure it correctly. He said send him basic instructions and include the firmware recovery card and all should be well when I gave him a brief breakdown of how to and worst case if a recovery is necessary.
Oh, mistake. Its actually in Nebraska. I know in WA and ND right now its around 2C per kw H. So its very feasible. I'm sure they would host a data center for co-hosting servers at a site with the best power rates fesiable for a good location for them.
So at say 80 kw H per day for two SP10s, that's like $50 a month in power at 2C. Its over $500 here where I'm at now at 30C per.
