Perhaps, but they will have something for sale in July (batch 3) while you only have something in September. Having something for sale sooner counts. What would you say to this? I am happy with my September Sp-30 purchase, but wish that you would have something in July-August.

Hosting companies DO NOT pass electricity savings to customers. if you compare prices in WA-they are essentially the same despite the fact that they pay 2c/electricity. Electrical savings transmission simply does not WORK!
Sure it does. Ask advania in iceland how much they charge for power when you supply the fully populated container. They pay 4 ct for power, they will bill you 5 ct. Instant savings. advania quotes $160/mo per Sp-10, this is much much more than 5c/kw (it should be $44 in electricity /mo at this rate), so I don't know where you get your numbers. Of course, they should charge small amount for everything else, but not 3 times more than electricity. I hope you are just negligent in your reading, but as far as i know when you deploy your single sp10 you dont´ship it in a modular datacenter container, do you? That would be one very lonely sp10 in one very empty shipping container. You will obviously only get such low quotes when the ONLY thing they need to supply is electricity and internet. dude, get of your high horse, not everyone wants to supply a whole container. I get a quote on hosting aggregation page here. Please, i am not trying to be purposefully unfriendly, but the whole debate was around the topic of single customer vs large deployment. That is the whole subject, large deployment either together or by one single customer is always cheaper than small deployment. That is why it says "fully populated container" in my description, when claiming 5ct/kwh.

Missed by two weeks. 20nm has many flavors, layers selection etc. Apparently they've choose a simple variant and were able to do it in 3.5 months. Lot of good it did them in terms of ASIC power/performance.

I am trying to find what I can use at a reasonable price without "populating" full containers and so far-very few options.

There were a small number of July sp30s and a big number of August sp30s. They will have a better performance on 28nm vs 20nm. Please go and buy one of these Neptunes, i want to know wether one of the small boxes is a whole neptune. If so, they would be atleast as loud as an sp10, as you would have to move 2,1kw with one 120 mm fan. Companies can only ship and produce a limited number of units per month. Many people skipped the boat and demanded a refund on their Neptunes, as you will get 6TH for atleast 10k, which is not such a good price.

Also you told me 5 months in PM. Admit it, your magic crystal ball is not nearly as accurate as you suggest.

Yes, magic crystallball reading sometimes encounters distortion effects, especially over a period of months On the other hand, KNC missed their deadline, as they had stated their first (customer appreciation) batch would ship one month before the first official one. The first official one was scheduled Q1/2 2014, so yeah, missed deadline by atleast 17 days XD (if they had shipped today). Customers will also at first only receive a 3TH device for their atleast $10k plus shipping, and most customers payed $12k. The second device will be shipped in August or September. Add costs for PSUs, as they don´t ship with one.

I had a refund problem then with you know who...hence no group buy. My point is that if you look for equipment right now, Spond cannot be your choice if you want it in a week, and I wish that there was something available. There are very few CURRENT offerings.

They did it in 3.5 months, assuming I was right and they started in the beginning of March. They claimed they started in February, which means they did it in 3.5 - 4 months. I admit that I was probably wrong by 2 weeks. I've explained the reason. It has to do with the amount of layers. Guy

Ya right now... what S2s or keep trolling the GB pages something could pop up. I got S2s at fairly decent price. Check out Ben Turas's firesale for those one string miners. The SP30 for September is a solid buy as well I think if you want to risk it. I did the same for the August SP30s. Thinking sub $1 gh I gotta take that... still sweating though given that BTC was tanking and other miners might be lowering prices.

And... he was wrong. Which is the better product? No idea since sp30 does not exist yet (neptune might not either) However knc has completely stopped caring about customers so I would never support them. Also 0.7w/gh is quite a fail for a 20nm chip. Point is that making comparisons based on magic crystal ball readings is pointless. I still think sp30 will be a badass machine but I'd still never preorder one (not that I can afford it).

Well Jimmy... I put my money on the SP30s. Had this debate already. They just need the chips to drop in. I am guessing my 75 cents a gh was a good choice when Spondoolies does deliver. But hey I also bought S2s they run nice and they were decent price well under $2 gh from the discounts and gb I bought through. I am not so worried someone was off by 2 weeks. I think I am in pretty good hands with Spondoolies.
