Arsenal worked hard to get in to a position where they could challenge for the top 4 position and for a while it seemed almost certain they might get it but they lost too many games alongside Manchester United but Spurs won those crucial games and managed to sit in 4th place instead. You are right, for several years Arsenal seem to lose their nerve when they are close to qualifying for the Champions League and always seem to miss out.

As for Conte, yes he is doing great at Tottenham. He was so close to quitting his job a few weeks ago but bounced back and they have been playing very well.

As much as I despise our London rivals, I would prefer to see one of them play in the Champions League than Manchester United. Tottenham have been fantastic since their loss to Manchester United, going 4 matches unbeaten and looking more of a threat than Arsenal and Manchester United. They would do well with Conte as a coach if he is well supported in the summer, and Harry Kane may have a reason to stay for another season if they qualify for the Champions League.

I thought this was a fairly exciting match, lots of pressing and attacking by both teams. Liverpool just could not cope with Manchester City in the opening minutes of the game but after they settled down they composed themselves and fought back.

Christian Eriksen has been playing brilliantly since he returned to the Premier League, you are right he deserved much more attention and recognition for the quality of his midfield work. I doubt Christian Erickson will not go back to Tottenham his relationship with Daniel Levy is not good.

@JollyGood City may have to relinquish that top spot, because of the injury crisis that they’re currently facing and Pep can only hope that his player’s return to playing soon otherwise it’ll be really difficult for him. Also Tottenham are on a good run, but I sincerely doubt that they’ll be able to play in top form till the end of the season, and hence I’m expecting them to collapse soon.

I am sure Guardiola would prefer to put out a weakened team against Liverpool in the FA Cup and get knocked out by them but keep a stronger team for the remaining 7 games of the season to try to ensure they win the league.

Spurs just might have done enough to win the psychological games against Arsenal and Manchester United with their great form of late but they still need points on the table until they mathematically secure 4th place, otherwise Manchester United and Arsenal will remain chasing them.

^  Define 'weakened squad'.  Guardiola could deploy a midfield three made up of Gundogan - Rodri - Silva and a front three of Grealish - Sterling - Jesus and it'll still be strong.    But from a betting perspective I feel like it could end up 2 - 1 for either side.  So best bet for me is over 2.5 goals and BTTS combo at 1.95.

Lmao.  I'm watching the Spurs match right now.  Trossard just scored the only goal of the match so far at the 88th minute.  Poor Conte...

Anyway Southampton vs Arsenal should be a good, fun match.  Could be another over 2.5 and BTTS combo winner.

Tottenham and Arsenal both were defeated today while Manchester United won their game. This is making the top 4 finish even more exciting and uncertain.

It does look that way. Norwich and Watford are almost certain to get relegated but Burnley still have a slim chance to stay up at the expense of Everton. The gap between those two is just 4 points with 8 games remaining to play.

West Ham United 1-1 Burnley


Leicester City were winning 0-1 but ended up going in at half-time at 1-1, then eventually lost the game 2-1 when Newcastle United scored in the 5th minute of time add-on.

West Ham United did nothing to help their push for a 4th place finish with this draw but they had to come back from a goal down to equalise. Burnley needed more than just the one point to put pressure on Everton as they try to avoid relegation but it seems inevitable now.

I don't know why Westham is very difficult to hold the winning in the home even Burnley is a club which being fight in degradation zone. Burnley also doesn't have a coach to direct the squad and still dabble in a good formation. Even if the ball position is leaning toward Westham, they have difficulty making it a draw and in fact, Burnley can create the winning if penalty Cornet towards goal, but the luck is still in Westham, If they still hope this happens again in the future, they will be difficult to bring upon Uefa league zone.

You can talk a lot about Manchester United but still there comes a game when you just can't get enough of watching. And Cristiano Ronaldo is just something else. Despite winning dozens of cups, championships and ballondors, this hunger for success, determination and ambition actually explains the reason why he is at the top. He has a hat-trick in a team like Manchester United, where there are so many problems. Such a great goal from a free kick at the age of 37. I have goose bumps. Nevertheless, in 32 games they had 54 points, 20 points behind ManCity. For a club like ManU, that is utterly unacceptable. And as far as I reckon, there is no chance of getting the 3rd place or even the 4th place in the league. It was a good game to watch but a lot has to change for United.

It's devolving into a three-horse race, just when everyone thought Arsenal and Tottenham would fight it out after Manchester United looked like a potential Europa League contender last week. Manchester United has a chance of finishing in the top four after Aresenal  three games in a row and Tottenham losing a crucial game. Arsenal and Tottenham are the league's two biggest bottlers.

Yeah they still have a chance to fight unlike the other two teams but I don't think the new manager will be able to turn things around within a short period of time, sacking they coach at this point of the season was a wrong thing to do, not sure anyone would be able to turn the team around.

It will take several years before we might see the next superstar with the talent and ability he has. Maybe there will not be another phenomenon like Cristiano Ronaldo because his records speak for themselves. Amazing.

The top two are miles clear, and Liverpool's recent FA Cup triumph may give them the psychological edge, plus Man City look a bit jaded after their recent exertions.
Chelsea are alone in third.
As for the fight for fourth, yes we all thought Arsenal looked most likely, but now they are sinking rapidly. Form is vital, and their form is the worst in the league, so I don't think they will be fourth. Which leaves Spurs and Man U - Spurs have the position at the moment (3 points, plus goal difference), and have better form, so I'd say they have the best chance. The only doubt I have really is that Ronaldo is coming into form with that hat-trick - if he hits a good patch, he might be enough to propel United into fourth... but it seems a stretch, Spurs have to be favourites.

^  Same..  I fear for City.  And Liverpool i still live in achieving the greatest feat in EPL history.  Winning the EPL, the UCL, the FA Cup and the League Cup.  They already got one in the bag with the league cup, so three more to go.  I'm not Liverpool supporter but I shall be rooting for them to win all 4 cups.  I'm a fan of Klopp since his days at BVB and a fan of LFC's playing style.

And it looks like it's going to be a grrreat game later.    I'm thinking Liverpool win -2 at 2.50, BTTS no and over 2.5 goals at 4.60, Liverpool to win both halves at 2.85 and Liverpool to win to nil at 2.43...  What do you guys think?

You are absolutely right both teams will be going for a win, they both need 3 points. If Liverpool win they severely dent the hopes of their opponent in finishing 4th and if Manchester United win they severely dent the hopes of their opponent in finishing as champions. What a game it will be but it is stacked heavily in favour of Liverpool to win.

Liverpool move 2 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League after demolishing Manchester United in the game played earlier this evening.

Very sad news about his loss. I hope he and his wife manage to recover from this tragedy and look forward to what positive moments life holds for them and their family.
