The Afcon 2025 draw has been concluded and every team now knows what they are up against. I am a Nigerian, so i am mostly concerned with our group, we are in group C, with Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania. IMO, it is a relatively fair group and i think the Super Eagles of Nigeria should easily qualify from this group. So which group do you guys think is the group of death? And where are we going to see the upset.

I see nothing stopping the Nigerian Super Eagle on qualifying from these, looking at the countries they are together in the same group, this shows that we are still having more upper hands in this 2025 AFCON, but just as it is in playing games or gambling, we may not predict well what the outcome may turned to be, but as we have seen and expected, there should be more to be done by the Super Eagles in other for them to keep their supporters proud of them, they cant just afford missing out by any chance.

Our country my pride aswell, we did struggle to make it this far, i only can believe rather than forsake being patriotic even if i see those who can repel us from reaching and conquering in the finals. Morocco is one big threat, Egypt, South Africa and Ivory Cost will also be a handful but i believe in my country, with our squad rating we should be the preferred nation to lift the trophy.

I hope so, the super eagles should try their best this time to bring the trophy home. With the new coach in play, I hope he is able to guide our boys to victory. Like I will always say, our boys has to connect with each other. It will be sad for Nigeria to waste this set of players they have currently because this is like a golden generation. It's not an easy thing for a country to have this much talent all at once.
I have always maintained that the way Nigeria plays does not reflect the kind of players they have. I'm not saying they have players that can compete against the top teams in FIFA ranking but they have a team that should be winning the AFCON  and getting to the quarter-final of the World Cup. They did not play particularly well in the last AFCON even though they got to the final and they were exposed by the time they got to the final and faced a decent team.

They have talented players like Lookman, Osimhen, Iwobi, Simo, Chukwueze, Ndidi, Bassey, Aina, and Ekong ad even though these players are not world-beaters they are good enough to make Nigeria win the AFCON so it would be disappointing if they fail again this time.

that team spirit has been what is missing in the super eagles and if they are able to get that right, they will be one of the greatest if not the greatest team to go against in Africa. hopefully, if we get to see a sense of togetherness and team play and not just the dependent on individual brilliance that affected us in the previous AFCON, we can hope that we will get to the finals again and hopefully go on to winning and bringing the trophy home.

a lot of the other teams other than the fact that they have few experienced players that are equally doing well for themselves in the big stage, an added advantage that they have and that most times help them get possession of the ball more than us is that they have the ability of holding the ball and playing together as a team and recently African football is becoming really fast which makes it difficult for us to really do well since most of our players are damn comfortable and like to relax too much on the ball. these and many other small loopholes are things the new coach will have to look into and see that the needed change is effected and that the supper eagles do not allow the fact that they are big and popular guys on the continent give them an heavy feat that makes it hard for them to play well as a team. off the pitch, your can talk about being the giant team but when you are on the pitch, our players have to get ride of that mentality and go after every game with a very serious mindset that with put added fear in the minds of their opponent.

With these big names in Nigeria, Nigeria should be able to show for it by winning something. Assuming it was another country, you will see that they will make proper use of these talented players to outshine other countries in Africa. Nigeria has provided Africa best player twice back to back, but Nigeria couldn't win AFCON last year. It saddens me that it is only in clubs we see these players putting in all their strength and talent but when the come down here to Nigeria, these talents become a waste.

Do not be so sure, upsets are expected, just as there was in the last tournament in Côte d'Ivoire. The last Afcon was one of the best i have ever watched, all the teams put up a wonderful show and the officiating was world class, even much better than Euro 2024, i hope Morocco 2025 would be even better.

Of course i will be rooting for my country Nigeria, we were runners up last time and i hope we can go a step further and bring the trophy back to Abuja again in January 2026.

Despite coaching disappointment in the last AFCON competition. All Nigerian players should be humble and dedicated enough to come home to play for their country. Proper training should be done regularly by all the players who are home so they can sync together wonderfully well. I say no country and I repeat no country will be able to withstand the Super Eagles. The level of professional players they have is enough for them to bring that trophy home without stress.

These are the countries with the initials to control the table, their success in this phase is already considered a done deal. I should be worried about my country, with the new coach i expect to see a better outbreak than what we experienced trying to qualify.

Yes, I also think this is likely going to be the outcome from each group. I know Nigeria will definitely finish on top of their group standing no matter what. And I don't expect anything to be hard for Erick Chelle given to the quality of the Super Eagles.

Looking at the AFCON table above, I don't think there's any fair group that I could think of about an African country team that has easier qualifications from the AFCON group stage than the other African team. Each African team has equal qualifications with the other African team.

Football generally has gone past predicting a winning match for the big teams over the small teams. This AFCON match is not left out of that either. We can be surprised that the teams we thought would have their matches won easily, struggle to win their matches.

For the Super Eagles to face Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania in Group C. I suspect the match will not be easy for the Super Eagles because Tunisia and Uganda always give the Super Eagles a tough time when they face each other. Hope the super Eagles comes out on top of the Group C as thought

Coaching disappointment? Jose Peseiro guided us to the AFCON final, he didn't do much wrong IMHO, and if he hadn't resigned after losing that final, i don't think the NFF would have fired him.

The level of professional players they have is enough for them to bring that trophy home without stress.

The beauty of the African tournament right now is that every team is more or less strong, i know that Nigeria has quite a lot of players playing abroad, but that is not enough to make them win the trophy "without stress".

I know this isn't technically more related to this thread but I saw the amount that Al Nassr are willing to offer to Boniface and I just want you guys opinion on this matter. What do you think Boniface should do, take the bag or remain in Europe to try and make a name for himself. I'm also hearing stories that Al Nassr are no longer interested in him but I can't verify the story but let say the deal was to go through for Boniface, do you think it's worth it to choose money over passion?.

Also do you think his position in the national team will be a at risk if he move to Saudi Arabia. I'm asking this because I believe many people don't value the sport over there and I noticed the favouritism of European players over other regions. Last year was Osimhen and this year Boniface, who's next Lookman?

Their strongest opponent there is Tunisia. But then I do not me to look down on the other teams. Because this our country team sometimes will just embarrass you and you will be shocked that they might be beaten by Uganda. I have so much trust in the new manager and just as other of our country men and women. And I don't just expect that he wins the group but that he leads the team to win the 2025 AFCON. I also expect that I will see some homebase players in the squad list whenever it is released. Lastly, the NFF should allow the new coach be independent and do his job with interference from them like telling him who he should or should not pick to make the squad.

I just pray that they should not give up heart attack in this tournament because their things always end up with trying. (They tried) And we don't want that statement in this season. The new new coach also promised that he will do well to win the trophy but this is also mouth. We have to see their performance of they will play more than the way they played in the AFCONQ. Super Eagles lost their football prestige for long time and now they want to build it back again. But my fear is, this new coach was the one who lead the Mali National Team in the 2026 world and they loss and this the same man is here to make the Super Eagles to qualify in the same World Cup. Is it not an irony?

Yes I agree with you because I have also looked through the group listings and only group B which has Egypt, South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe look like a tough group but still it should be an easy group to qualify from for Egypt and South Africa but who will finish top is what I cannot decide now maybe until the first legs have been played.

Boniface accepted to move out of Bayer04 to Al-Nassr but the transfer failed because the Saudi side seized to show interest on the transaction, on the verge of passion, he's a footballer and it's his passion to ball in a team with the highest bid. Regardless of the disadvantages of moving to Arab as a growing, young star, most footballers would want the big pay cheque because they'll be needing it after retirement, since they're not being paid pensions. Also Leverkusen would have made great profits if the transfer went through.

If we start worrying for the super eagles now when the time has not come for them to play their first World Cup qualification group match I wonder how heart melting it will be on the kickoff, so there is no need to worry over something they will not do again, already the grouping is right in front us and we are wildly seeing how they would play it and luckily enough the grouping was different from some others before that normally put us on the fierce group but this group will be very amazing the way super eagles will qualify. However Victor Boniface is just my concern now because if he accept the deal he may no longer be seeing more matches in super eagles like before, however I'm happy before all those drama will start the world Cup qualification is already finished, then he can do what he desired to.

The competition is equally spread amongst all the groups; I don't think there is any group of death.

By name, Nigeria look like the team to dominate Group C, but I doubt that the other teams there will make things easy for the Super Eagles.

There are many African stars in this competition scattered amongst the various teams, and I look forward to seeing them light up the competition.

I think it looks more likely to happen this way because judging from the arrangement and group pairings these countries have more advantage against the rest of the competing teams in each group. For example in group C Nigeria will only have Tunisia as the team to give tough time and they still stand winning chance against Tunisia.

I'm scared for the Super Eagles at this point and that is because even the coach isn't git a good record before now so I'm trying so hard to trust his strategies,  I'm hoping we get surprised by the new coach, there are possible chances to get them to produce better results as the team has got solid and very good players both internationally and locally,  they only need good utilisation and tactics.

The money might be tempting but I will advise Victor Boniface to reject the big money offer from Saudi giants if he is seeking international recognition and personal accolades. Staying in one of Europe's top five leagues will give him better exposure, tougher competition and a higher chance of winning prestigious individual and team awards. Victor Boniface is a young and talented striker with many more years of active football ahead of him. Moving to the Saudi Pro League at this stage of his career would limit his potential team as European based players generally have a better platform to showcase their abilities at the highest level.
