What do you think Boniface should do, take the bag or remain in Europe to try and make a name for himself. I'm also hearing stories that Al Nassr are no longer interested in him but I can't verify the story but let say the deal was to go through for Boniface, do you think it's worth it to choose money over passion?
The deal has fallen through and Victor Boniface will remain in Bayer Leverkusen, he was ready to take the deal and if he did i would have completely supported him. I am not sure it would have affected his place in the Nigerian National team either, as long as he stays fit and competitive, but we can't discuss all that because the deal didn't happen.

That said, Al Nassr went for Jhon Duran from Aston Villa instead and he has completed his move to Al Nassr from Villa, and mind you, he is just 21 years old.

I know this isn't technically more related to this thread but I saw the amount that Al Nassr are willing to offer to Boniface and I just want you guys opinion on this matter. What do you think Boniface should do, take the bag or remain in Europe to try and make a name for himself. I'm also hearing stories that Al Nassr are no longer interested in him but I can't verify the story but let say the deal was to go through for Boniface, do you think it's worth it to choose money over passion?.

Also do you think his position in the national team will be a at risk if he move to Saudi Arabia. I'm asking this because I believe many people don't value the sport over there and I noticed the favouritism of European players over other regions. Last year was Osimhen and this year Boniface, who's next Lookman?
It will depend on his goals or dreams for his career. Some players are passionate about winning personal awards and club trophies. While some are driven by the passion to become wealthy. If Victor Boniface wants to win the Ballon d Or or African Best Player award, the Saudi Professional League will not be the best for him. But if he wants to make more money and acquire more wealth, let him move to the Gulf league.

Nigerian fans don't care about the club or country you are playing your trade, all they want is for you to contribute positively to the squad. Sadio Mané plays in the SPL but his place in the Senegalese national team is uncontestable. If Boniface can keep scoring goals for the Super Eagles he would have an automatic shirt even if he players for the lowest rated league in the world

All the two matches played when the former head coach was with them, they loss all and now that they have new coach from another country, what is the hope of the players and the fans. Nigeria.is a sportsmen country but the leaders are not doing well in the sports and we have been battling for that for a while. Will that change to good is an another question to answer. And some people are on the agreed that yes Nigeria will qualify. Then how many countries will qualify in the World? That should be a discussion for another day.

Some people might say that Sadio Mane achieved a lot at the top level in Europe before moving to Saudi, a move he made when he was 30 years old already, meanwhile Boniface is just 24 years old and has not really done much in Europe. Anyway, the deal fell through and he would remain in Germany. That being said, i understand your points, and right now Boniface isn't even a starter for the Super Eagles if i am correct, he is somewhat a makeshift striker to Victor Osimhen.

For the number of countries expected to qualify for the world Cup 2026 has never change from the numerous world cup the African countries has been to because the number is always the same and doesn't varies, so actually the last time was nine countries and this time will also be nine countries, however depending on how many group we have on the qualifier, so is either two countries will qualify from each group for the world cup or only one country will qualify from the group after all the stages, so that's how I see it will be done, though I don't no if there would be change this time or is not the way I explain it but that is how i understand it.

Nigeria should be able to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With the quality of players we have, competing on the global stage should not be a difficult task for the Super Eagles. Despite having a slow start with two disappointing results in their opening games, I believe the Super Eagles has the experience and talent to bounce back no matter if it's a foreign manager that coaches Nigeria or not.

This isn't far from what is actually  applicable in terms world cup requirements actually but I think it's about three teams in each group that gets to qualify for the tournament actually but I just hope African teams in their various group are able to qualify so we get to see more African presence in the world cup this time.

It is four games that has been played and not two, out of the four the Super Eagles have won zero, lost one and drawn three, as a result of that we are currently fifth in group C table. That being said, there are six remaining matches to be played, for us to quality i think we need to win at least five of those games and prolly draw one. I trust the boys, i know it is a daunting task, but i believe we can do it.
Then how many countries will qualify in the World? That should be a discussion for another day.
Africa will have 10 teams in the 2026 world cup.

Nigeria is currently sitting in the 5th position of their FIFA World qualifying with 3 points which is four points behind Rwanda, South Africa and Benin Republic who are 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Their next two fixtures will be a visit to Rwanda before hosting Zimbabwe 7 days later and if they can win both games, I think they'll stand a good chance of qualifying to the next edition of the FIFA World Cup tournament. Looking at the quality of squad of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, it'll be big shame for them to fail to qualify and that I don't think the new coach will want to allow to happen. I  think Nigeria will definitely qualify

Despite having a slow start with two disappointing results in their opening games, I believe the Super Eagles has the experience and talent to bounce back no matter if it's a foreign manager that coaches Nigeria or not.
Big names playing in big clubs might not determine the outcome of games. Until these quality players are well managed by a good coach, they won't bring good results. Teams like Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon are among the top ten best national teams in Africa but the majority of their players don't play for top European clubs like their Nigerian counterparts.

The new coach of the Super Eagles Éric Chelle has been mandated to help the team to qualify for the World Cup. The next games will determine if Nigeria will be in the most prestigious global football competition or not.

The new head coach promised to do well in the team.
Is anyone expecting the new head coach to promise something else, promises are very easy to make, harder to keep. I will like to see the Super Eagles in the World Cup, but not with a poor team that will go there to embarrass us. It is better for us not to go at all than to go there and not even be able to make it through the group stage of the tournament. If we cannot make it through the group stages of the World Cup with the quality of players in the team, it will be a waste of space to me.

I  think Nigeria will definitely qualify
Definitely? I wouldn't use that word, lol, i believe we can qualify and i am fully behind our boys to do their best, but we must accept that it is a very daunting task. In qualifiers it is always better to start well, get good points and set the pace, chasing from behind can be tricky, i know we have six games left to try and turn things around, but what happens if we fail to get the result in the next game, the pressure then overwhelms the players and the manager and it is difficult to recover from there, hopefully that doesn't happen.

Sadio Mané plays in the SPL but his place in the Senegalese national team is uncontestable. If Boniface can keep scoring goals for the Super Eagles he would have an automatic shirt even if he players for the lowest rated league in the world
Some people might say that Sadio Mane achieved a lot at the top level in Europe before moving to Saudi, a move he made when he was 30 years old already, meanwhile Boniface is just 24 years old and has not really done much in Europe. Anyway, the deal fell through and he would remain in Germany. That being said, i understand your points, and right now Boniface isn't even a starter for the Super Eagles if i am correct, he is somewhat a makeshift striker to Victor Osimhen.

Mane had his best time in Liverpool, every other club after that wasn't as successful as the one in Liverpool. He left Liverpool for Bayern because of the pay but got knockdown by the Germany haters and eventually leave for Al Nasir but even there, Ronaldo has outshine them because of his influence. He is just making his money and supporting his village projects and it's good it's working for him, that was his motivation in the first place, money!

Boniface has had a toot time in Leverkusen and he still young, the money is tempting but he can get that later. It's better he spend lot time in Europe before going there unless Leverkusen is trying to make it looks like what Napoli did to Osimhen. What if he goes to Saudi now and do two years and then something happen and then get dump like the way they did to Neymar, he will definitely quit football because nobody will accept him back to Europe.

If Boniface can keep scoring goals for the Super Eagles he would have an automatic shirt even if he players for the lowest rated league in the world
The deal didn't go through and a lot of persons have said he was too young to have wanted to make such move, obviously it was for the money and not for any other thing. Boniface still has a lot to offer in European football with Bayern Leverkusen, he is one player that stands out in the team, they are the league defending champions and are still doing well in the champions League too. Boniface should be patient, there are bigger European teams that would come with better offer, if he had gone to that Saudi league, he would have enjoyed the huge wages but his name will gradually lose recognition, which is bad for a young talent like Boniface.

When I came across this news on X for the first time, the first thing that stroke my mind was what was he thinking and why move from Leverkusen. At first I thought it's a loan and I asked myself if it will make sense for someone to want to go to loan to Saudi Arabia, more over its not like Leverkusen is having the big time of their lift now, they are behind Bayern and all they could think of is selling Boniface because of money instead of used him to service their performance.

Saudi Arabia is a retirement place, look at poor Neymar, he is dismissed and now headed to his home where he started the league, I don't even hear about Benzema, he is just there but you realy hear about his performance, the thing he is doing and you will not see him on the media. I just feel like this Saudi Arabia want to be like Europe, Boniface will regret his life if he signed up that deals and accept anything that came with the contract.

[quote author=DiMarxist link=topic=5507543.msg65015333#msg65015333
For the number of countries expected to qualify for the world Cup 2026 has never change from the numerous world cup the African countries has been to because the number is always the same and doesn't varies, so actually the last time was nine countries and this time will also be nine countries, however depending on how many group we have on the qualifier, so is either two countries will qualify from each group for the world cup or only one country will qualify from the group after all the stages, so that's how I see it will be done, though I don't no if there would be change this time or is not the way I explain it but that is how i understand it.
This isn't far from what is actually  applicable in terms world cup requirements actually but I think it's about three teams in each group that gets to qualify for the tournament actually but I just hope African teams in their various group are able to qualify so we get to see more African presence in the world cup this time.

Is not even about wishing for African countries to qualify from their group because no matter how bad they play countries must qualify for the world cup because is a must that a certain number of every continent come out to play for there continent. If the groups is up to six groups three countries will not qualify because if 3 multiply by 6 it will be 18 countries and that's too much for the number required, however I think soccer has really expanded a lot in Africa now more than the last time, so this will make the African countries to stay and be competitive against outside countries  like never before.

If Saudi Arabia gives the world the perception that they are a place where star players go to retire then they would lose relevance soon. It used to be the Asian league and you can see that no one talks about them on the global stage once a start player moves there. Even America too. The Saudis have the money but they should build on their team and their league rather than wooing players with huge amount of money. They can't compete with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal like this.

The deal didn't go through and a lot of persons have said he was too young to have wanted to make such move,
Victor Boniface is 24 years of age, and the player who the Saudi club chose as his replacement John Duran is just 21 years of age, younger of course and played in a better league than Boniface. At the time of the deal, other European clubs were still very interested in John Duran, but he chose Saudi, and it is obviously for the money. The money offered by these Saudi clubs is very tempting for any young player to refuse.
If Saudi Arabia gives the world the perception that they are a place where star players go to retire then they would lose relevance soon.
They will loose relevance as soon as soon as Ronaldo maybe retires from playing in the league. His influence is still keeping attention on the league.

I don't know what else people expect victor Boniface to achieve in Europe before deciding to join the Saudi Arabia league. Let's remember that Sadio Mane and Boniface played in two different team and leagues. When Victor joined Bayer Leverkusen, they were not this competitive. They were just like every other team in the German Bundesliga. He went there and the team suddenly became competitive and became a top club in the league and Europe. They won the league title and went to the final of Europa League. He was the highest goal scorer that season and received other accolades. Victor Boniface stand's a legend of Bayer Leverkusen. Bayer Leverkusen can't write their story without Victor Boniface name being mentioned in it. He part of the squad that won the league for them and went unbeaten and highest goal scorer.

For me that's enough mark in Europe already. If Victor Boniface decides to join the Saudi Arabia league at this point of his career, he has done enough and I support him. Not every players will win the champions League. Mane won the league so did Boniface. Mane scored lots of goals, so did Boniface, and he went unbeaten. So what's all these comparisons with him and Sadio Mane.

Will Nigeria Super Eagles Still Qualify for the 2026 World Cup?
This is the Big Question the Fans plus me is asking if the Super Eagles can qualify in the 2026 World Cup.
Nigeria Super Eagles qualification of the World Cup 2026 is not certain. The new head coach promised to do well in the team.

For us to give an answer to this question of whether the Super Eagles will qualify for next year's World Cup been 2026. let's start by knowing the country team they are up against, starting next month March 19 to October 11

From the uploaded photo above, we can probably assume that the Super Eagles won't have an easy win over their upcoming World Cup Qualification matches. I believe there will be wins, draws, and a loss match for them, as the case may be.

Rwanda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotho, and the Benin Republic have all had win or draw matches from Super Eagles. We don't know how all the matches will turn out to be for the Super Eagles until the matches are played.

However, let's see what strategy the new coach will have for the Super Eagles to qualify for the World Cup 2026. It's unthinkable for the Super Eagles not to qualify for next year's World Cup because the last World Cup, they missed it(didn't qualify). I assumed they qualified this time
