Allow me to pose a question to the community, if I may. As we discussed, we will focus on bringing Karma to unbanked populations in the Philippines per http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,565.0.html(Indonesia is also a prime target, as another member has pointed out.) Please reply to this post with how do you think you can help make this happen. We don't want to be in a situation where the many are depending on the very few to make things happen. This surely can be a community effort. I don't mean the involvement of everyone in the community but I'm shooting for 2-5% actively working on something (assuming 300 members of the Karma community, including lurkers) Being part of the Karma team does not presume activity, either. As most of the time we, the team, does what the community does (just talk without action). We need action now, not just pages and pages of text. (This is the cold, hard reality. There is no beating around the bush.) Anyone can come up with a plan. Hopefully, we can discover the plan together. My concern now (from my experiences with Karma) is "who will do the work to make it happen?" I don't want to present a plan and be one of 2 people doing actual work to make it happen. We have only to take a look at the vast quantity of un-touched tasks on the Karmashares forum (even those that are assigned to specific people) to see a little of what I am talking about. Of course, after I began to see that people didn't want to be assigned responsibilities (or let others know what they're working on), I stopped creating tasks. Lots of us talk about what needs to be done, but about 90% of the time Karma calls for help are met with radio silence. "Somebody else did something, now let's talk about it" = 100 "Something needs to be done" = 50 "Here's what we can do" = 25 "Yes, I can help" = 12 "I will do this particular task and here's how I will do it" = 6 "Here is what I have done" = 2 or 3, including myself Lack of active involvement is the fundamental issue here. We need less talk (especially about market movements and price) and more action (equates to value, especially long term price increases). Why would anyone want to be the only person doing the work, while others wish to sit around and reap the benefits of their labour?

Lots of us talk about what needs to be done, but about 90% of the time Karma calls for help are met with radio silence. The way I understand our plans to work is that we need some back end support. If it is not within the capacity of anyone here in the community, why haven't we liquidated some of the sitting funds in karmashares as has been agreed with votation some days ago? So we can pay devs to make all the necessary programs, like: 1. API, 2. Share explorer, 3. Mobile wallet, and others? socoban stepped up for the new explorer. By now our primary market has been agreed upon, KarmX side chains too. Let us liquidate the funding and make it WORK. If I mis-understood the situation please enlighten me.

Kosmost, I have an idea since a few years but i was never something i could succeed in. Its the following: 3 years ago, i went to indonesia for 4 weeks to do voluntary work, i ended up in the jungle where people with no money or very few money, live in peace. Well you would think in peace. Driving in a quad over the roads you suddenly see a change in trees, it isnt a jungle anymore suddenly, but well alligned high palm trees. These are here for the palm oil buisinesses. When i arrived at the village of tembak after a 3 or 4 hour ride, it was jungle again, but they told us that they were very afraid of the palm oil companies coming closer, not only there but in borneo in total. Now with the project i went there, they succeeded to get one villager that wanted to become an english teacher, to get him the finds to complete this, so he is outside the village now and he lives in the city. I have him in facebook and i experience in real time what is happening. Now, the palm oil companies are at the edge of the village (so the jungle is gone till there and its only palm trees). The palm oil company wants to buy up the entire village. The most people in the village live from rubber sales, they get the rubber out of the trees, but because it is hard work and it delivers very little rubber, they get paid close to nothing. So the feel its necesery to sell their house to the palm oil company. Now the palm oil companies dont pay much, they pay enough to get them out. The leader of the village tries to get these people who sell their house out of the community but it is very hard because sometimes the leader receives money from the palm oil companies, so they have to change leader again in the village. What will happen after the entire village is eventually sold, is that those people will have to move to the city, and if you have very little money in a small village in the jungle, you have a wonderfull life (if you want pictures i would be happy to send them), but if you have very little money and you live in the city, you will have the poorest existance anyone can imagine. You live under bridges, get raped, die from illness, like malaria and hepatites etc. And this will happen. It is frustrating that very few people in the world know about that this is happening, but i have seen it with my very own eyes. We destroy the lives of so many others just so or skin feels a little softer (palm oil) or our chocolate is a bit more buttery (palm oil). If that isnt bad karma, i dont know what is. It would be hard to get in touch with these people but i have some connection and people in indonesia (like the english teacher) who do know these people. Is it any idea, to, in any way help the people in those villages? We could never ever compete with the palm oil companies as we have no funds but if we as KARMA set up something to save the people who are caught in the terror of deforesterastion, others would maybe join? Every time i read about the situation there in indonesia, the sitation in the village of tembak where i have been, it breaks my heart. Because what kind of assholes are we actually, to fuck up the entire lives of so many, just by buying, what is nowadays, regular stuff.
Maybe none of you like this at all but atleast you have heard the story now.
Cheers

I no longer see how Karma will help spread karma. This has been a very expensive, disappointing and valuable learning experience for me. I've held large amounts of Karma since April (ignoring some minor trading) and didn't sell it when it was logical to do so because I believe in Karma and believed in Kosmost. My Karma represents more to me than what I'd gain from selling it now even if I were to rebuy it in the future. Kosmost, if you're still answering questions: 1. Why did you create Karmashares LLC, spend hundreds of hours on Karma and Karmashares LLC only to decide not to follow through with whatever your original intentions were now? 2. Will you continue to work on Karma or have even you given up on it? If so what are your actual plans going forwards? I ask these questions with the understanding that you don't want to work on Lill.com. Chargin. As you noted in the last sentence, the questions depend on the validity of "kosmost doesn't want to work on Lill.com" (to paraphrase), which of course is untrue and unfounded. Please rephrase the questions with the assumption that nothing has changed. (btw, where do you get the idea that I don't want to work on Lill? Surely you don't think I just pulled it out of thin air?) The primary reason given for not taking the sale to a vote is because you didn't want to (or couldn't) work on Lill full time for 6-12 months. You have already taken the project further than you wanted to. I have changed the colour of the relevant sections in the quotes below to red. I was expecting an altered offer to be announced, eg: Kosmost will oversee/manage Lill part time, or the wording on what you are required to do for Lill after the sale made more generic and/or flexible. The project needs a lot of funding and a lot of work. You aren't willing to be paid to do the work, why do it for free? Chargin. I think like kosmost stated, Lill goes far and beyond a few million bucks... i mean remember when facebook bought whatsapp. for 16 billion or something around there... well Lill or anything kosmos has backed or put any work into is worth much more then whatsapp. im not saying that this will sell for 16 billion... im just stating that I would have agreed with facebook more if they bough something like Lill.com over whats.app... this is powerful stuff
We'll need to grow our userbase and get out of 'beta' mode. As discussed, I would take it as far as beta (without Karma integration) and someone else can manage the project thereafter. Once we have that (and marketing, of course) we can begin to grow and become more valuable. For now, it's a proof of concept that we can use for (subtantial) further growth. http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,505.msg2751/topicseen.html#msg2751As we talked about when iPOCOs were first mentioned, most Karmashares projects will not be successful. Though a small percentage of Karmashares projects may be very successful, providing a healthy return to investors.
My purpose with developing the three Karmashares projects (Lill, Wespond, and Hireplex) was to provide an example to the community of how projects can be done. We provided an outline as well as guidelines for projects. I would bring the projects to beta stage and someone else would take over the project.
The Lill beta was completed first, followed by a beta of Hireplex. Wespond was not completed, considering the lack of interest in anyone taking over the project(s) and/or assisting with them. Therefore, I will be taking all of my projects off the table except for Lill. I will primarily focus on developing it over the next few months for Karmashares, and integrating Karma into it.
The team member who spearheaded FABRIK is MIA, so I have also removed his projecrt from the list.
http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,555.msg3058/topicseen.html#msg3058While i know there is a expiration on this offer of the end of the month, I think we should hold off on any vote until we fully understand the strings attached to this offer. For example the lill team for 365 days. What and who does this mean? And what effect will it have for project development for the LLC with in those 365. As far as i know kos is the lill team so does that mean kos will be slaved to this vc for a full year?
This means myself and a lead developer (on my side) continuing work on Lill (without Karma integration), more or less full time, for 1 year.
I'm not keen on that part at all, as I would have no direct benefit.
http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,559.msg3179/topicseen.html#msg3179Time to stick a fork in it, I think. I was initially quite in favor of selling, right up until I learned of the "kosmost-in-chains" provision, which, come on people, realistically renders this deal dead on arrival.
I'm glad you understand why the deal doesn't excite me http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,559.msg3304.html#msg3304An update of this conversation regarding the potential Lill dealUnfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in my negotiations with the VC investor to get more favorable terms for us (or I should say, myself in regards to time commitment). The deal as discussed was for the Lill team (myself and my developer) to spend a further 1 year developing the website as per the VC's vision. The offer has expired as of August 31, 2014. Although I was able to make some headway ( the possibility of reducing my term to 6 months, among other things) we were not able to come to an agreement that would satisfy us both. Due to my current and pre-existing responsibilities to both Karma and my IRL-life, I would be unabe to make such a commitment. However, this of course does not diminish the possibility for Lill to be a major force in Karma's future. If anything this is an opportunity for us to make it happen. With your help we can do just that. Thank you all who have been a support during this process. http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,598.msg3599/topicseen.html#msg3599

http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,598.msg3599/topicseen.html#msg3599I will take my 5 cents of thought on this. The goal was somebody else took over lill as is, but the deal failed so new investors have to be found, so lill needs some work again to make it interesting for new VC's. So i think, because lill.com is the baby of Kosmost, he feels obligated to work on it till it gets sold. And with the sell he wants to STOP working on it

As i understand it the lill.com website is meant to make people money (karma) by searching in the engine, or adding reviews, shoutouts (whatever that is) etcetera. So to help people in indonesia the lill engine is THE method of getting these people some money. Ideally, there would be an exchange directly form Karma to US$/IR$, but they will figure it out even if we do not provide such an exchange. These people are bitcoin adaptors already, even if they only know 'its worth something' So a conversation in indonesia will go something like this : 'if you use lill.com, you can earn money.' 'how?' "You get karmacoin and you can convert that to bitcoin !' Keep in mind that what we see as a few cents, for these people that sometimes is a lot of money. There will be grandmothers in a jungle hut using a cellphone to use lill.com all day. Of course the advertizers on lill.com pay for the karma that is given out, and karmasharesLLC keeps also a part of the pie karmasharesLLC of course donates part of the income to aid projects ( and advertizes with this). So in my view there is only one part of the puzzle missing: the payout in lill.com. If that is running, word will spread like wildfire and we are in business

Greetings, We raised a total of 10,003,764.5467 KARMA during the Karma World Cup charity pool for the Street Child World Cup. I was waiting to sell the Karma and transfer the donation in fiat and the price of Karma has not been cooperating So, instead, I simply purchased the Karma today by giving a donation of 25 GBP sterling ($41.27 USD) and will transfer the Karma to my personal wallet. Currently at 87 Litoshi, the remaining 10,003,764.5467 was worth $40.76741 Here is the donation completed today. Transaction ID for movement from Karma World Cup wallet to my personal funds. ee27036ea3cbc125901dcd1ae97bb43784fb62aa6335468c020855558d8e39b6 Thanks again for everyone who played. A big thanks again to Javi who built that beautiful site. We will have to do it again next World Cup 2018! Maybe do a Rugby World Cup next? Best regards, Shawn Awesome, good work Shawn on the organization and implementation of that project. Hopfully we will more than double our donation next time.

We kinda have a liquidity problem. Somebody sold coins for 6$ amd that makes the price goes from 90 to 78. It is important to keep karma attractive, so new open topics on reddit etc are maybe wished. Or am i saying weird things

So the market list of Mintpal v2 is released. And im proud to see Karma is on it!! They will start with a btc only pairing at opening, so i hope we are able to make karma grow to a 1 satoshi buy atleast! So our volume doesn't get killed.
Im excited for the moolah takeover, might atract many new traders to mintpal.
