Aaaaaand it's gone! Happens, when believing into a Bucket Shop Coin traded on merely one Exchange.
Anybody thought about alternative methods of trading Monero? Oh, I see ... you allready did.
I've traded Monero at least 5 different ways and probably more than that.

No. In practice you can use any of the dozen+ places to buy XMR. The other options aren't less viable just because Poloniex is the preference.

In which of the exchanges mentioned above can someone buy 10k xmr without slippage? That's 'in practice'. You can be a sophist and play with words as much as you want but someone has to wonder why... EDIT: That doesn't change the obvious facts.

Have you even seen a Dash maximalist? They say stuff like "Evan Duffield >> Satoshi." Compared to DashHoles, BTC and XMR maximalists are the epitome of charm and wit.

Tha's one of the many downsides of having a single exchange with pretty much all the volume, (compounded with no official GUI) means a huge majority of all traded (and probably held) XMR would be dumped on all remaining exchanges. It would be disastrous. GUI needs to be finished "SOON" and big XMR whales should move some volume over to other exchanges.
