Cryptopia XMR/ETH Market (and all other ETH markets) are closing, please cancel all open XMR/ETH orders.

Full Statement:
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Forum/Thread/675

"Cryptopia has decided to delist ETH as we no longer have faith in ETH to remain impartial and decentralised or to act in the best interests of all of its users."

Maybe I'm being brutal, but good for these guys.  Exchanges need to take a stand against blockchains that show they are little more than flimsy technology centrally controlled by a dictator.  It's really bad that there was a code exploit (but forgivable in some ways), but what is not forgivable is rolling back the blockchain to avert theft.  That destroys the social contract and has no place in crypto.

There was no code exploit in Ethereum itself. There is really no reason why the Ethereum devs should be involved at all, much less pushing forks. That they are involved, ask yourself why.

The hawaiian is translated as: "Decentralized - Private - Electronic/Digital"

Meh, that leaves me wanting.  But that is a really nice design for a ShitCoin like Monero.  Why did you assholes go "plated", I'm all about solid gold?  At any rate, what mint did you guys use for these coins, would be nice to know.  Thx.

active nodes up almost 50% over a week ago.

41 nodes in China.  I didn't put much interest in nodes. But was the case so far that that high % was in China?

Ughh where did those Greek ones go? I should finally spend some time figuring out how to connect that second hard drive on the VM and have a node running.

Edit: Ok, ..... Stop being a dick now.

Get used to it. This is why most everyone has dumped this shit and moved on. Be happy with your $1 to $2 tsunami.

If it's klee today it will be someone else who will keep shitting on their own, and brag about how they made money at your expense right here. Why do you think even with all the shit going on no one wants to look here?

1) How is people talking shit the reason everyone is "dumping"? Are people dumping? Couldn't tell...

2) I see this thread has 1,285,378 views... I guess you got a point... It's like a ghost town in here!

Great, another foot soldier. Nice that you are stuck in your 3 day needle. I'm sure you are sleeping well with that thought of good ole libertarian views and the amalgam of ring signatures and freedom. This thread becomes more entertaining when peons like you stand up and fight the war for the overlords dumping over you. There was a time when you could recruit more new retards into this game, but that time is gone so it's that much more fun. Some of us will definitely try our best that newbies not fall for this crap anymore, beyond that it is their prerogative.

Let me also tell you that I hate the maggot trolls like primer-, BCX, Spoetnik ever since he went full retard on monero (meaningless personal drivel), all these other shitcoin peddlers. Fact is they did little to damage the perception of the coin, it was all done by and within this community itself. It's funny that pegasus and the likes go sobbing to Voorhees (who says he will read about Monero lmao, really?), Antpoo and the other whales. You also don't see gmaxwell or all those initial day intellectuals pushing monero anymore. They do have vested interests in zcash, but unfortunately thats the way baseball go ..

Back to speculation... this is my bullish take:

https://i.imgur.com/xInGnV0.png

We're also bound to have a golden cross on the daily (SMA 50 crossing SMA 200 while both are trending up). Bitcoin's golden cross was here:

Don't take this as financial advise though.

Actually the long term trend in the market capitalization chart of Monero says that funds are moving into Monero rather than out of Monero. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/#charts.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Was that a legit sell or a short (23.5 btc).  There was probably around 30-35 BTC total.  It was like they're trying to force down the market on purpose.

From what I could tell, it was a legit sell, XMR lending didn't budge (to my knowledge) when it happened. So, either a long capitulating, or spot coins being sold.

Now, that doesn't mean it wasn't an attempt to force the market down. Its a known tactic to put up heavy support of your own, and then sell into it (costing only transaction fees), to convince other people to panic out of their position so you can purchase lower. However, I'm not sure which one is more likely; we had a pretty significant rise recently, and it may have just been a large long capitulating. Thats markets for you!
