1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 29, 2023, 02:15:42 PM
     -  I think Charlo will win there, because from what I can see if he is only Canelo in terms of stamina and skills of punches, this is just my assessment. Although most of this is Canelo's advantage, but for me I don't think so. We'll find out when they're in the ring.

Although, they are both showing off and teasing each other, let's see who is telling them the truth when they are both fighting.

Are you from this planet or just trolling us? If you think that Charlo has advantage in stamina and boxing skills, then what can you say about his 2 year pause, while Canelo boxed best of the best during these two years? Dont forget that Charlo will be in 168 for the first time in his career, while Canelo feels in 168 like fish in water. If you so sure in your prediction, will you place money on Charlo? Cheesy

He has his own perception about this fight, and it seems that only a few people believe that Charlo would win, as reflected in the betting odds for this particular fight. If he thinks Charlo will win, then that's his personal opinion. However, even if we strongly favor Canelo in this matchup, we cannot guarantee his victory.

Yeah, he can do that by all means, bet on Charlo if he thinks that he is better than Canelo Alvarez, the current cash cow and in the pound for pound list.

We are just laying the grounds for what we think might be the factor why Charlo can't beat Canelo at this point. Charlo is away from the sports so his stamina and even his boxing skills might be in question. And then he is fighting Canelo's best weight. Charlo has seen 168 lbs inside the ring. Maybe in his off season he might be carrying a full 168 lbs+, but it's different if you are training with that a lot of weight that your body is not accustomed to.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 29, 2023, 12:44:11 PM
Maybe seeing Paul and Steph starting at the same time.
There is a possibility that this approach would help Curry conserve his energy, as they would already have a facilitator, while he and Thompson focus on finding open shots. It would result in a smaller lineup, but adjustments can always be made.

It's quite evident already that the Golden State Warriors aren't looking to change their line-up to keep up with the giant players nowadays that can literally protect the rim and paint, instead, they are giving more focus in what they have and the strengths where they are famous for, small ball.

Now that CP3 is on the Warriors, I think so too that he will be in the starting line-up but that won't be long as they cannot afford to lose CP3 via injury and will just let him rest in-between or where the Warriors needed him the most.

Yeah, this is also what I'm seeing Kerr doing in the next season, they are going small and obviously giving up height against team that has great center. But they still have Green and Kevon Looney.

And they are used to small ball, there are games that you won't see Looney down the stretch, it was Draymond who play center position. And then we have Klay and Steph and then Poole for them. So same lineup, except that CP3 will be their point guard and then Steph focusing on his shooting as well as Klay. So nothing has chance in their style of play despite losing Poole.
1023  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin pumping when the economy is heading into a recession? on: June 29, 2023, 11:57:30 AM
I guess by now we have the answer, despite where the economy is heading or if we are in a recession, the bitcoin market doesn't care. What investors did is to pump it hard because of the BlackRock news and it seems it has somewhat remain above $30k at the end of this month when everyone thought that June might be negative again.

So again, whatever happens to the global economy, if it goes worst, then bitcoin could be a hedge against recession as it will be seen as a store of value. Just like what happen in the pandemic in 2020, although we have the Covid-19 scare, still the price pumps so hard till 2021.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Return Of Terra Luna Classic on: June 28, 2023, 12:17:41 PM
I think it's over for Terra, and every project that is associated with it.

Although we might see some good price action, it's obvious that it is just for pure pump and dump. They have lost all the trust already, and it's supposedly leader is in jail right now.

So why we should trust this project again, and why someone is shilling for it? obviously, we all know the answer to that.

Sorry OP, I wouldn't put any investment regardless of what innovation they are supposedly going to offer in the future.
1025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 28, 2023, 11:31:01 AM
The Bivol rematch might happen next year or maybe we will not see that happening at all as Canelo is with PBC now. Bivol is with Eddie Hearn and Match room so I doubt that they are going to work out as Canelo's contract with PBC is exclusive for a 3 fight deal.
Canelo is scared to fight with prime Bivol, so he avoid it and choose to fight with the opponents he think he will win e.g. Jermall Charlo, David Benavidez, and David Morrell. If the undisputed light heavyweight will happen e.g. Bivol vs Beterbiev, if Bivol win, Canelo will wait until he move to heavyweight or retire. But if Beterbiev win, I think Canelo will dare to fight with Bivol since both of them don't have any belt and the judges will favor on Canelo.

We can say it like that, and that's why they low ball Bivol during their second negotiation because they knew they are going to decline that offer. And with that he decided to move to PBC and so he cut ties with Eddie Hearn so obviously no more Bivol fight as Hearn said that it's hard to negotiate that fight.

And with that, Bivol is now hanging, although he will have a good chance to have Beterbiev fight happening. But with all the bad blood between their respective managers, I doubt that this fight is going to happen. So we will see who's next to Bivol, as his career might be in limbo when they turn down that Canelo rematch.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 28, 2023, 11:09:59 AM
There were news that Deontay Wilder has set the contract to the camp of Andy Ruiz Jr.

And Andy seems to have responded already based on that and said that yes, there is negotiations going on and he is coming after the Bronze Bomber. So let's see, hopefully the earlier the better for this to happen.

Because there is also news floating around that AJ vs Wilder in December. And Francis Ngannou said that he also have a fight with Wilder after December.

https://twitter.com/calfkickercom/status/1669903199199690753

I heard conflicting news. Eddie Hearn confirmed in one of his interviews that Deontay Wilder will fight Anthony Joshua on December.

Also, it would be a mistake if Francis Ngannou fought Wilder, I reckon. Ngannou's team should negotiate for a fight vs. Tyson Fury.  It will be the biggest money he can get while the hype is still alive. If Ngannou fights Wilder for a smaller amount and loses, this will kill the hype and all interest for Fury vs. Ngannou will die.

In any case, there is also some rumors that Ryan Garcia will fight Rolly Romero in September if the contracts are signed this month.
The fight between Wilder and Andy Ruiz might be in jeopardy as the camp of Ruiz didn't accept the proposed fight, specially his father is fuming over the contract. They wanted a 50/50 split of the purse, but the camp of Wilder just gave them 30% which for them is not fair since Wilder is no longer a champion and then fought cherry picking Helenius.

While Ruiz put a great display against King Kong Ortiz. So let's see, if this fight not happening then maybe Wilder vs Joshua can happen this December.

They are going at it in public, Wilder says that Ruiz should be man enough and make his own decisions (referring to him with his father do the talking). But his father insists to get 50:50 as this might be their verbal agreement before.

In any case if this fight does not happen, Wilder still has a lot of options like the Joshua fight which we love to see.

As for Ryan Garcia, his team are fighting GBP right now, so I doubt that he will have another fight this year.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 28, 2023, 09:31:30 AM
There is also a news that Donte DiVincenzo is entering unrestricted free agency and will not sign with his player option with Warriors. So I guess the Warriors will have to lost another part of their rotation in Donte, coming off the bench, scoring almost 10 points per game.

So Poole and then Donte, I guess the Warriors bench will not be that deep, but they are going to totally rely on their offense.

Maybe seeing Paul and Steph starting at the same time.
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 26, 2023, 01:02:00 AM
Not official, it could be just a rumor, but I heard that the Knicks is pursuing Zach Lavine? It says that the Bull are looking for young players and future draft picks and of course salaries as well.

So it might be Brunson, LaVine and then Randle for their own version of big 3. Bulls have been inconsistent in the last 2 seasons though, we thought that they might be a different version with the acquisition of DeRozan but it seem they have been plague with injuries.

I'm inclined if that will indeed happen because the Knicks duo is going to need another player to keep their stats working and so that the team will achieve much further than what they had in the last run plus I don't know why the New York Knicks were really silent in the draft night.

Anyway, regarding about that speculation. I've read that Zach Lavine is not interested with it, so it's a no-no.

Zach LaVine camp would be against a Knicks trade: source

Ok good, and maybe that rumor is not true at all, but who knows, there are some crazy trades that is going around.

As for the Ayton trade, yes it should be made, the guy obviously wanted out of the Phoenix Suns based on his performance and those who are critical about it. But in exchange of Tobias Harris? they are already loaded with scorers and shooters already, KD and Booker is already good for Phoenix now. They already let go of CP3, so they might at least get a good big man in exchange of Ayton and not another scorer. Bad decision for the management in this one and I think the Suns are going to be Nets 2.0.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 26, 2023, 12:38:44 AM
Is this happening for real? I am just surprised to see this type of gambling discussion which I have never imagined like two billionaires who have setup top companies will be competing in a cage match but have some dates been finalized or this is just another one of the influence drama going on for some upcoming projects for both of them? But if this is happening I am seeing lot of hype about it and a great event for gamblers as well with boosted odds.

Obviously, not until there's an official announcement, don't expect that to happen for real.

Both are billionaires, they truly know what they're doing and won't just engage easily in this kind of stuff without any advantage or benefits in return. They are not playing kid games here. We also don't know if there's "hidden stuff" behind the curtain. Smiley

Besides, it's easy to just throw words but to turn those into an actual fight scene, that would require a serious approach and lots of considerations. .
You nailed it. They must be up to something given how business minded they are. They are not going to do something without getting benefits. I guess, it has something to do with their business. Maybe a collaboration, that is very beneficial to their own net worth/company. Add a little drama just to catch the public attention and has always been effective.

Most likely to boost their image and their respective companies, nothing else. I don't think that their beef is for real, remember that this guy are self made billionaire so they really know how to earn big money and doesn't treat others as their competition, each one has built their empires differently.

And Elon Musk personality is more so of like to be exposed in public, he has celebrities ex-girlfriends to he loves the limelight. As compare to Zuck who is tone down, however his exposure is very bad specially on how Facebook handles their data.

So it's going to be a win-win for both and maybe people can shift their focus instead of attacks, they going to laud this two for fighting in the cage.
1030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which campaign is better? Bounty campaign or Signature campaign? on: June 26, 2023, 12:21:13 AM
I will also says signature campaigns, based on what this community is all about, that's why this community become one of the well-known as it started this whole signature campaign first that pays in bitcoin and then later it evolved in bounty paying campaigns which is in token.

And historically, there are bounty that didn't end well, becoming a scam, and so the project failed miserably and then participants complaining about the rewards and so there are scam accusations on a bounty campaign. So for me it's better to go for signature campaign first and then measure how effective it is.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 25, 2023, 02:56:37 PM
^^ And if I'm not mistaken, Jerwin is under MP so definitely Sean Gibbons will have to work double card to bring Jerwin's name in the mix again in this new weight class. And most likely, he has gotten over his lost against Martinez and moving forward to his career. No need to dub himself with that 2 losses, what's important is that he was able to win and make a statement comeback win.

So far I have checked his rankings, #8 on WBA and #9 on IBF.

Doesn't matter if he will have to face another Filipino champion or to become a champion. They are campaigning in the same division so obviously at some point they will have to fight, like Donaire vs Gaballo.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 25, 2023, 10:40:29 AM
Personally, I would like Nonito Donaire to be able to demonstrate that age is not an impediment to sport, on the contrary, that the more seniority and the more experience the better for every boxer and I believe that for every athlete, this It is something that will always be noticed, not only in boxing do you see these things, but also in soccer I have seen that the players always do whatever it takes to look fit and be in shape, so that new players do not surpass them or hurt them. gain in speed, that's what they always fear, but that's something that can go wrong, in boxers things look different.

There is a reason why a boxer in his prime is often evaded by people who take so much care about their winning streak.  Prime boxer has the optimum output and performance to beat their opponent.  No matter how we think that older boxer has more experience, the younger boxer has their camp with experienced coaches and trainers that can guide them through out their carreer.  If the younger boxer is a good learner then the advantage of an old veteran can be nullified.

Although athletes can make themselves fit, older athletes cannot perform like their prime day since their ability might have deteriorated due to old age.  The one that most affected is reflex, speed. We have seen how Donaire slowed down in executing his counters when he fought Inoue and how his performance degraded in their rematch.

I get your point, but we also need to consider that it was Inoue and the adjustment he did after that first fight
is really different. He knows that speed is his advantage, and he demonstrates that during the fight.

Donaire, on the other hand, can't do anything about that. Inoue is on his prime and both speed and strength
are accurately being executed.

Just bad strategy for Donaire, he said post fight interview that his strategy is go toe to toe with Inoue. As you can see it was very bad as his speed and timing is no match for Inoue's power and timing as well. If he plays and just shell out in the fight, maybe it can go to distance but it will be the same outcome as well.

Now, fighting with another young aspiring fighter, let see if how Donaire will try his best to reclaim the title
after Inoue vacated the belt.

Yes, he is the favorite in this fight based on experience and the tools and we have seen Donaire somewhat dominating this division. But Inoue is the king of 118 lbs obviously and Nonito is the second best. But since Inoue has move up, then perhaps Nonito can get back and claim his belt back.

1034  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC Lawsuit Against Binance Is Likely To Hit Bitcoin Price on: June 25, 2023, 08:22:13 AM
It will definitely go away, we have seen like Mt. Gox and then all the hacks that had happen, China banning mining, pandemic and wars and yet bitcoin is still standing has remain very strong. So this is just another test for us, maybe not as worst as the FTX and Terra Luna last year, but still there is an impact in the market as the price drop to $25k.
We have analyzed every event related to the decline of Bitcoin and all the news just temporarily paralyzed the market, I assume it is just a normal market correction even without FUD news which seems to influence the market to be forced down significantly in a short time, because I have predicted the market before that the area a $25k correction is imminent and I have prepared a fund for a $20-25k buy area on a DCA basis in anticipation of the probability that the price could be lower than our predicted price.

Quote
Most likely the recovery will be long term, that's where we are looking at it right now. Again, this is just a test and it's really difficult, nevertheless there is a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Give at least 6 months short term, and then wait for the halving next year, long term.
Based on the current price, it is predicted that the price recovery opportunity will be faster or less than 2 months, but we never know bad possibilities can occur if there is news that will worsen the current crypto market situation, but in the end nothing can tear down the crypto market in terms of anywhere because the support of the global crypto community remains solid improving cryptocurrency achieving unlimited goals without any entity, group/organization even government to influence our goals.

I guess it's over now, I mean the effect has short shell life for bitcoin. And after the Binance case and the whole FUD behind it, the price has recovered already to $30k. But still though our thought process should be long term here. Yeah, we are all glad that $30k has been punch and it seems that we are maintaining it right now.

But next 6 months? a year from now? this SEC vs Binance could have been forgotten when the price goes to 6 digits at least. And maybe we can call it a blessing because when the price goes to $25k-$26k, there could be retail investors who could have bought in that price and now are in the profits.
1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: June 24, 2023, 11:03:25 AM
june almost passed and it seems that the market gonna get waves of correction due to the fact that there's lawsuit.
i guess bullrun will not come this year around after all there are just too much things holding back the bullrun, but honestly there has been some series of small bullrun this past few months.

I'm getting confused from you guys, yes June is going to end but have you seen how the market is right now? Almost all altcoin is green, ETH reaches $1900 already so not sure what corrections you are talking about as if you are not checking the price or just simply replying on this thread.

Bitcoin for example, just jump to $30k+ already, even touching $31k, and that price has been touch twice already.

And with that, we have a small rally in our hands right now, although not officially a bull run, but still it's good to see the price having this sort of mini bull run.
1036  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Rural vs Urban Awareness? on: June 24, 2023, 10:13:21 AM
As regards the wide spread of Bitcoin in our today society which should be of utmost priority? more awareness in urban cities or Exposure in rural communities? This might not be applicable to all nations but there are many rural communities cut across many nations around the world who don't still don't understand what Bitcoin is all about, what it values are and what it represent in our modern financial society.

Specifically in Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana where I have stayed in at different time, I discovered many rural areas in this countries still find it difficult differentiating Bitcoin from Ponzi schemes. In this case will sensitising people in this areas be a vain adventure following their  mindset.

And how fast will adaptation and acceptance take place. And are there any technique one can apply to impact this persons on the advantage of embracing Bitcoin without sounding like a scammer or a deceitful person. I don't know if any one has had similar encounter In time past.

I doubt there is a difference though, in your case then I wouldn't go that far and educating everyone. It's not that I don't want bitcoin to go global, but we want people to discover it by themselves and see the benefits of it in the long run.

Just like what you have witnessed, for some of them it is a Ponzi scheme, and maybe you will tell them that it is not. However, it there mindset is close already so even if you explain everything to them, they will have a close understanding already and it will be very difficult to change their stands. So be it, if they don't want to, then it's their lost not ours.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 24, 2023, 09:56:50 AM
Well, Eddie Hearn is a huge boxing fan himself and is probably the biggest promoter right now and is a master in the business with superstars Canelo, AJ, and fighters from other promoters that fight in DAZN except GBP which has its own exclusive contract with the network. His 500k-600k is a good estimate and is already a big success given these economic hard times.

This fight though has real potential of breaking a million PPV buys. I also believe that tickets will be sold out quickly. So far PBC has named Pitbull Cruz battling against Giovanni Cabrera in the undercards probably to get the huge Latino boxing community.

In terms of the live gate's tickets, there is no question at all that it will be sold out quickly just like what Garcia vs Davis fight did or pretty much faster than that because we have to include the fact that there will be some businessmen who are having some business in gaining these tickets as fast as possible so that they can sell it in a much higher price. But when it comes to PPV buys, I doubt that they can break a million of it because the world is getting modern each day and big fights like this are almost shown for free in some sources like Facebook live or even YouTube because they are seeking the viewers as well in-exchange for some voluntary amounts to watch the fight live.

As far as Eddie Hearn, he says that PBC, Top Rank and Golden Boy doesn't want him promoting in the US.

As for the PPV buys, I do agree, I don't see the fight getting or breaking the 1 million PPV buys, not a hater but they will be lucky to get 500,000 PPV. Still the king of PPV for this year is Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis.

Live gates must be different though, it could be sold out by now and only premium tickets might be available.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 24, 2023, 08:23:35 AM
Many people find it difficult to accept who they are and the bad habits that they have, accepting a habit is the first step that will determine if any help offered to you will work. As a gambler, will you find it offensive if you are referred to as a gambling addict? will you easily accept it or try to give excuses like some other people do, saying that they are not addicted to gambling when the signs are clearly there. Do you think identifying as an addicted gambler will make people stereotype you. The answer is different for every gambler here.

Very hard to answer, but for sure there will be gamblers not willing to admit that they are addicted and be called with that name. They are going to defend to death that they are not that kind of person, but instead just playing to have some fun. But we all know that it's not the case since addicted one has that psychology to not disclose everything.

So it's not only difficult to accept, but I think it will be offending too. And it's a sensitive matter, so I guess we just need to be very careful as this is a delicate. We don't know what will be their reaction is, if you call and identify them.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2023, 08:09:04 AM
I guess the Warriors management really did a lot of thinking, it's Green vs Poole. And so they decided to give the young fellow a boot and retain Green as he is one of the core players for the Warriors.
Isn't it that despite this trade with Poole was already done, Green has chosen to get out of its contract and will be the next to be out of the Warriors?

If only Jordan Poole perform better in the playoffs, it might be a very difficult job for the management to decided which one to go. Unfortunately, his best performance with the Warriors is when they have that championship run. At least he had a ring already.
This could be it and a factor why this trade has made possible. But as CP3 doesn't guarantee them a ring but who knows if they'll be dominant this season and CP3 could get his ring with them.

I can remember what KD did to take his ring with the GSW.

We still don't have any news of Green wanting to get out of the Warriors though. Definitely CP3 is not a guarantee but I guess Warriors think that adding him might push them for another run at the title, specially if Green opted to get back since Poole is no longer with the team.

And it's also interesting that there are reports that Jordan Poole unfollow Draymond Green in Twitter, Lol. So the beef must be real between the two since the beginning of this season specially some videos of them having confrontation, not just the punching incident.
1040  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price, Where Next on: June 23, 2023, 12:15:12 PM

Bitcoin has been very bullish at the moment it has managed to breakout from $30k and is likely to survive and will continue its bullishness this month,
I have seen many predictions that June will be good, and yes it has been proven.
if this momentum continues then Q3 will be a bullish month for cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin will surely ease into $50k again.

It just barely break the $30k price range though as it fluctuates from highs of $29k to lows of $30k, and so with that kind of movement, there is still a big resistance, a big wall in front of us.

Nevertheless, as shown previously, it can jump anytime if investors are going to be bullish and willing to pour their money because of so many positive news around. And just think of it, if just of those Spot ETF application was approved by SEC, the market will continue it's rally and could have another break out run to $35k. But a disapproval could also dampen the spirit of the market again.
