1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: May 07, 2023, 05:39:05 PM
I am just curious to know why people favor one Sport over another, when it comes to betting? Is there specific Sport that increase your win chance or do you bet on those Sport for other reasons?

As a bettor in sports betting, we tend to always choose the sports we know the best because I think any bettors will definitely not want to bet on such sports or games where they do not have any personal knowledge or know how about the game nor know the characteristics of the players or fighters. I mean, how can we increase our odds to win if we're just literally guessing the outcome.
Exactly. Betting in a game that you don’t even know how it’ll be going is like a suicidal, you only bet just to lose. The reason why I keep betting on boxing and in NBA since I always watched those games and I know definitely the potentials of those players that I am actually following. Though there are undeniably some games that are purely luck based, but I mostly don’t bet games like that. I still go with games that can be win through skills more than luck knowing it will always increase my chances for winning.
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin doesn't give you instant 100 percent profits on: May 06, 2023, 09:59:17 PM
Not just for bitcoin alone, but in all types of investments, you cannot expect for 100% instant returns in just a short time. You need to work out your investment. And by investing in bitcoin, you need to hold it for long term without being affected by FUDs in the market and will not be bothered by price fluctuations that are constantly seen in the market. And at least never believe in 100% profits, especially if you only invest at a minimal amount. Bitcoin investment may prosper but it can never guarantee consistency in profits all the time.

1044  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 06, 2023, 09:11:57 PM
Generally, it is all about giving good services to the customers. Because the moment that they feel happy and convenient in one place, they will turn back again and possibly bring more as they talk about their good experience.
Where discounts and incentives for loyal customers is also a great idea, and these people will appriciate it much. It is very important to hear feedbacks from our clients/customers whether it was bad or good because in this way, we know what is the thing we need to correct and a need to improve.

Indeed maintaining relationships with customers is one of the things that can be done to increase our profits, it must also be balanced with product quality development, expansion to wider locations, promotions so the world knows that we have quality
Customers are the most important persons in the business so we should learn to value and respect them as much as we value and respect our own business. Once they don’t feel appreciated and gone, then it could be the end of our business. Also, by providing them quality items that are actually what they’re looking for, in which the price is still fair and affordable for the customers, surely it will meet their demand and become a hit to the customers that would bring huge amount of returns.
1045  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of losing bitcoin... on: May 05, 2023, 09:52:56 PM
I have seen and witness people involving in bitcoin, most people can not stay a moment without panicking. A colleague of mine who have Minuit bitcoin has buggy me with chats and calls to update if bitcoin will survive this years, why can't people know what you're engaging into first before diving into it and start acting like a child. Different set of people are into this bitcoin, even people don't have investment are making noise of bitcoin price collapsing.

But come to think of it many have bitcoin in B figures but you can't hear them making noise but people with $30 will not allow you to rest especially if you're responsible for introducing them. Bitcoin will rise when is due to rise, remove fear and plenty rumors.
People who have less knowledge and less experience with bitcoin will always be emotional and will be easily destructed by price fluctuations. Unlike those who have been investing for long and have huge amount of bitcoin in their portfolio, they will stay calm whatever the condition of the market because they know already that bitcoin will always be volatile and will never give a high fixed value. But in the end, bitcoin will always give us significant profits and that is already proven for those who have succeeded in bitcoin.
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world still see Bitcoin as a scam, or is it just a lack of interest? on: May 05, 2023, 09:27:27 PM
I would say both. People will never stop from doing so unless they will be educated properly on what is bitcoin and how it works for us. That’s why a lot of people have no interest for bitcoin, whether it’s trading or simply investing because they fail to see the potentials of bitcoin in the first place  as a highly valuable and profitable one. And I think if they solely rely on the government to educate them, that will never happen. They should do it on their own  if they really want to learn and experience bitcoin.
1047  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: May 05, 2023, 08:49:00 PM
As a young person, I am overwhelmed by my curiosity in trading Bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to resign my white collar work and return to trading exclusively Bitcoin.

This was a conversation a buddy of mine and I had yesterday, and I felt compelled to bring it to this illustrious platform for the best types of advice and counsel.

Is it safe for a Bitcoin trader to quit their jobs and focus solely on Bitcoin trading if they can devote their time and attention to maximize the benefits in the Bitcoin world?

It is certainly possible, to make a living from trading but only you can give the correct answer to this question. Everything, exclusively everything depends on you. How skilled you are, how disciplined you will be and how dedicated you will be to the whole job.

Judging by what and how you write, I would rather say that you are a beginner than an experienced trader. In that case, you certainly cannot rely only on income from the trade, because there are no guarantees and you have a long learning way ahead of you. The moment you are ready to be independent and rely only on your trading skills, trust me you will not need this kind of advice from anyone.
Trading is a profitable source of income, but the income varies depending on how skillful and strategic a trader is. The higher your experience in trading, the bigger the chances you might consider it as a consistent source of income. However, if you are starting to trade, and you are still in the stage of learning and developing your skills, then making trading as a main source of income will be very risky that you might incur more losses than gains. Though you can still be in profits sometimes, but mostly you will face bigger losses in reality. So think a thousand times. There’s still a lot to learn in trading, and I think you yourself knows the best answer that will suit for you.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 04, 2023, 01:31:53 PM
In game 3, the 76ers are only +1.5, which is nice.

To be honest, I like the spread too. After the dominant performance of the Celtics in game 2, they are only a slight favorite. I think there might be something wrong with that spread, and it's likely possible that this is just another trap because most bettors will ride the hype of the Celtics since the spread is very winnable.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can't do something else offline, is this something wrong? on: May 04, 2023, 12:32:28 PM
My end goal is retirement through Bitcoin, I have no other dream than this, and I am not a dreamer but a doer. We all have a favorite subject in school for a reason, Bitcoin is just mine. Out of school though.

Accumulating a lot of Bitcoin for retirement could lead to a happy life, but the question is, how much do you want to be satisfied with your retirement?

From my past experience, during the 2017 bull run, I had a decent amount of Bitcoin, but I set a high target and continued to hold, hoping to reach that target so I could retire. Unfortunately, the market eventually crashed, but I still didn't sell my holdings. In the end, I regretted my decision. So, the lesson from my story is to always have a realistic target, and once you have enough money, try to cash it out or maybe a portion of it, since we cannot rely solely on Bitcoin for retirement due to its volatile price.

Additionally, having a business aside from your Bitcoin investment is nice, as we cannot predict what the future holds for cryptocurrencies.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: May 03, 2023, 12:45:23 PM
Like you said, the casinos aren't to blame, whether it be for addiction or whatever, like other businesses out there, the casinos owners are also running their business, and who ever chooses to create an account and gamble on a particular casino did so on his or her own freewill, he or she was not forced, and whoever is gambling should be matured enough to know how to control him or herself from getting addicted.
Both gamblers and casinos have the same goal, and that is to win. It's easy to understand that casinos should win because they have the edge, and that's the reason why the gambling industry is booming. We should gamble for fun and not try to destroy a very profitable industry. If we win, we should enjoy it because we are not lucky all the time. That should be our mindset instead of thinking that we can consistently make money in gambling. In reality, the more we push that belief, the riskier gambling becomes for us.

And again, promotion is very legal for every legitimate business out there, the fact casinos run promotion has nothing to do with gamblers getting addicted, addiction is majorly a fruit of lack of self control, not a fruit of promotion ran by the casino.

Indeed, as I mentioned, we have the same goal, and they (casinos) are marketing to increase their profits.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 03, 2023, 12:22:05 PM
Everyone who watched Tank vs. King Ry were waiting for the announcement for Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford but there was nothing and some of us were joking that  it was an extended April Fools joke hehehehe. However, go to your sportsbook and check the odds in boxing for June 17. Spence vs. Crawford is listed! What does this imply?

That adds more disappointment to the fans who were expecting the fight to happen. From the looks of it, I think this rivalry will remain a dream, as it will not happen now or in the future. Both fighters are taking their business on different paths and would only choose to fight a boxer where they see they have a great advantage, for one main reason: to preserve their undefeated record.

Is KD gonna request a trade again if they bust out vs Denver?  Grin

Jokes aside, what a defensive battle that was. From a team that has Booker and KD you would expect more than just 87 points.
Especially the last quarter with just 14 was tough to watch.

Jokic with yet another big game, no surprise. I expect Denver to win 1 on the road hopefully and then close the series at home.

Trash talking book and KD the ring chaser off to Cancun soon.  Wink

To funny to see how people react when KD is on losing team since we can't blame people to think that this will gonna happen again since most of the time Durant always go on the team which is already built. To bad if they failed to defeat Denver this round for sure he will be mocked by many people who doesn't like he's jumping stints on strong teams. But its still so early there are many games left maybe we can see them became more aggressive and they can outscore Nuggets on their next game.

It’s because many of the GSW fan hated this guy to the core. Many said he is the one who carry GSW to championship but he is struggling so much on any team that he goes after GSW even though the team that he join has a very good roster even on Thunders, Nets and Suns. KD is really good but he lacks the skills to carry the team in the end without relying to other player that can score when he is not in good shape like Curry and Klay.

KD is getting older so I’m sure that he will request another trade again since he is now close to GSW. Fans of GSW will surely celebrate when KD lose to Nuggets while the team continuously climb to the championship round. KD will have a better run if he is not too full of his self expecting that he can carry any team to championship.

Well, that is what he wanted to prove, that he can lead his own team, carry them, and bring them towards the NBA Finals but in reality, ever since he left the Golden State Warriors, he repeatedly failed to bring any team to the top unlike what he said. From the Brooklyn Nets, he got a good roster to start with but he got injured and the team didn't move forward, and now that he's in the Phoenix Suns, it seems that luck is still not his side.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: May 02, 2023, 06:02:04 PM
If I remember correctly, almost all gambling is banned in Japan (or Korea?)
No, Japan is okay, I don't know if Korea is. I recently play Pachinko in Japan 5 years ago. and, I think almost casino in Japan is open to everyone, except age. So, Pachinko in Japan is dominated by aged players but I have never seen a player under 17 years play with his mom like the post above. This situation makes me think that the more advanced that country, then have high the moral standards to do not invite his son to gamble.

And, the government should not jail both (mom and son) at the same time ( 7 years), because the child doesn't knows anything, and better that son is get treated in a child protection home.

To answer the question mentioned above, South Korea is not really a gambling-friendly type of country and here's their rule about gambling:
Quote
Gambling by Korean citizens is prohibited both inside and outside of the nation.

However, In Korea, there are roughly 18 actual casinos that are designed only for foreign tourists, and any citizen belonging to Korea caught gambling faces harsh penalties. Only foreign tourists visiting the country can indulge in gambling activities and games.
Source

Japan is different, the country is almost open to all types of gambling activities as long as it's deemed legal by the government and given that the gambler is above 20 years old. Back to the topic, I don't think that the mother is in the right mind because she drags her own son into her mess instead of setting a good role model to her son and I strongly agree about the judge's verdict because they are much better inside the prison as they literally need some help especially the son so that his life won't be totally destroyed and will be given another chance to straighten up his life when his jail time are over.
1054  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Addiction. on: April 30, 2023, 07:30:22 PM
It becomes abnormal if you are addicted to investing to the detriment of your well-being. To everything in life, there is a limit and if care is not taken after this it will lead to abuse. Having investment sense is good because you know you have a better future but it should be at a percentage.
This is why you should only invest with your extra money, and not go all in.
I have a friend who invested a lot with Bitcoin and other project, and when the bear market begins his well being becomes more affected, it started from anxiety, depression and now he’s under therapy.

Investing addiction is good once you know what you are doing, especially you know how to balance your life and your finances. Don’t let your greed to take over your body and your mind, you have to stay composed and of course know how to diversify.
Everything that is done overly, that may lead to addiction will definitely affect our whole well-being. That is the reason why we should do things within our control, otherwise we will be force to do things that are not right and aren’t just. However, with investing addiction, provided that you are totally aware of its risks and you will only invest an amount that you can afford to lose, I think that is valid and reasonable as investing all in will be detrimental to your health if ever you lose them all in the end.
1055  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't know if am right or wrong about this. on: April 30, 2023, 07:00:25 PM
Trading of bitcoin has been one of my source of income for quite some time now but find it difficult to tell some other persons to engage in trading because of the risk involved.

Last week a friend of mine saw me trading so he tried to know more about it, at first I never wanted to tell him due to the risk involved, but then based of his persistence I first of all explained to him the difference between spot trade and futures, but I told him I do only spot, how  I buy low and sell high, even as I was explaining it to him I was feeling uncomfortable because of the risk.

I don't want a situation whereby someone will say that I scammed him if there is a sudden dip in the crypto industry, so I just told him to open a binance account and verify it, after then, he should get back to me so I can send him the hard copy of the crypto course I bought.
Uptil now I still feel uncomfortable about it, I don't know if am wrong or right for opening up, even though I told him of the risk involved.
Your friend is the one that took the initiative of asking you questions about what you were doing, so in the case they try to become traders and they fail you have no reason to feel guilty about it, as you are warning them about all the possible dangers that they could possible encounter, yet they could still blame you as this is simply human nature, so be very careful how you say things to your friend from now on, and always tell them that at the end whatever decision that they take is their responsibility and not yours.
With how you manage your friend’s conversation with you, it’s really possible that in the end, once he fail from his investment, he might put some blame on you because you were the one who advised him to open a centralized account. Though he’s the one very eager to trade, but at least you should have told him to do his own research before he will decide to trade. Remind him that you’re ready to answer all what confuses him, but be careful on giving advices as it may make him completely believed that you are giving assurance to him.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 30, 2023, 06:36:18 PM
When a gambler becomes an addict, it just means that he has not become a responsible gambler, it's that simple to understand. And it's not good when it continues to gamble.

We know that many families are destroyed by being addicted to gambling, so there should always be control and discipline to not lead to this situation of addiction. You should only play with what extra money you have, not even the money for the family will be gambled away.
The fact that you have no discipline and self-control everytime you gamble, that makes you an irresponsible gambler. And the moment you become an addict, expect that things will be happening out of your control that’s why some addict gamblers found theirselves being involved into crimes. That is why if we are not good enough in controlling ourselves especially our emotions, then it’s better that we should avoid gambling activities as much as we can.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 29, 2023, 09:55:47 PM
Too hard to imagine how this thing happens but too unfortunate that it really exists.
Addiction is too powerful that a person could really change their behavior and will commit criminal activities for the sake of fulfilling their addictions.
I can really attest to this one, although it was a different story with that person OP but the reason is the same and he committed a crime (stealing) because of gambling addiction. He is not like that before but due to addiction, send him to jail.
Whatever addiction it is, it won’t be totally good for a person. So much more in gambling, where you can’t control the urge anymore and you’ll eventually find ways to pursue gambling, even if it means committing crimes. Actually, there’s a lot of cases that are related to this. And it only ends with same situation, either the addict is put to jail or they commit suicide so they can skip from the people who might sue them.
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is your stand as a Bitcoin holder. on: April 29, 2023, 09:32:31 PM
I've seen it before, but most people like to keep their privacy about the amount of bitcoins they own, some of them also try to hide that they own bitcoins at all.

For me, I do not find myself in this category because I only hold a small amount of Bitcoin. I earn bitcoins through my work, but I have to cover my family's expenses, so I cannot hold a large amount.
For security, it’s still best to stay anonymous from your friends or even from family that you are hodling bitcoin, whether it’s big or small amount because once they know it, they will eventually think that you have lots of money because you own bitcoin. However, for me, I am currently hodling bitcoin but sometimes when fiat becomes out of budget, I can’t avoid myself from selling a portion of it so I can still provide what my family needs. After all, I am investing for my family, so for me selling is not a loss for me. So just like you, I don’t fit in any category since I am hodling only a very little amount, but I am also doing my best to gain more of it for a brighter future for my kids.
1059  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: April 29, 2023, 09:12:40 PM
Working as a civil servants have always been my thing, I work from Monday to Friday which to me is normal, I feel proud doing it until I started trading bitcoin.

Trading started making me see things differently, because I no longer wait for my monthly salary, now I earn money daily and week, due to the kind of large amount of money I make in trading I fell out of love for my civil service job, because the money is small  but it is still a decent salary.

Note: in trading I earn base on performance, but even though the market is too bad, I still earn a decent amount of money out of it in a month base on my level in trading.

My question is guys which do you prefer, a steady monthly salary which you know that no matter what, it must come once the month ends or a business/ trading/ any other thing which you can do that you earn base on performance and you have the capacity to earn ten fold of what a civil servants might earn if you are good at it, but there is also a possibility that you may have a bad day in the office which you may even incurred some loss.

Which do you prefer an why.
Actually, you don’t have to chose since you are good at both. Remember that trading should only serve as a side hustle since it can never provide us profits in a consistent manner, unlike our stable job does. You might be trading profitable today, but you can’t have the assurance if it will stay that way in the future. So for best results, stay in your job and just do trading at your free time. That would be my advice so you can still make significant profits from both.
1060  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or investment! What's your take? on: April 29, 2023, 08:44:44 PM
.

Where are you good at! Trading or investment? Bursts our brain with your expertise
Trading and investing are two different things. If you have enough knowledge about the market then surely you can get success from here. But if I had to choose between investing and trading, I would definitely choose trading. Profits can be earned very easily and quickly from trading. But you must spend a lot of time on the trading platform. Long term investment is better for those who do not have enough time to spend. 70% of my earned profit is invested for long term and 30% in trading. But I have seen that trading can make profits very quickly. I still have losses in long term investments because my investments were made from higher markets.
I would say trading is hard and a boring pursuit since you have to discipline yourself and build your skills and strategies for a longer time. In short, you have to make a long preparation before you can be successful in trading, but I would say it’s more profitable and the profits are more massive than pure investing. However, investing is less risky but it also requires a lot of patience and understanding on the coins you invest, otherwise you may end up wasting your time and money into shitcoins. But if you can be good at both, I believe you can be more profitable and more productive in the long run.
