Dogecoin price being dragged down by LTC?
If anything, Doge is a beautiful example of the power of community. I'm a secret Doge lover. Indeed so. Here also - not secretly either, I admire what went into the creation, it's a fine example of how to get it right. Cheers Graham Hi Graham. Things are quite tricky to portray on BCT at the moment. There is so much going on behind the scenes in terms of feedback and discourse on Coins101's BIPs which indicate that our proposals have potentially great support but at the same time we've got an overall lack of spare time to make progress in other areas. I'm personally finding that I don't have the expertise to complete some of my tasks so we have some gaps to fill in the team imo. Anyway, its update day today so I'll be posting an update on all fronts this afternoon. We're getting there one step at a time.

I agree, proper stress testing is valuable.
HOWEVER, some people depend on the blockchain for income and my preference would be for intellectual peaceful debate or protest rather than harmful disruption. Neither CoinWallet.eu nor Bitcoin does well out of this.

That's an issue known to be present with the Pi. If your looking for a stable SBC to run these on, try getting your hands on a Cubieboard with the A10. Rockminer said they did extensive testing with these and they were the most stable SBC to use.
Interesting, thanks for this info.

If we could all work full time on this then I'm confident that we've got the necessary skills and experience to deliver PoBN and do it well.
I agree. So our first goal should be to bring on this confidence and change our situation so that we can make this happen. Stay tuned. Will prices go back to 2k sat I doubt it but if it does I think the sell side of the order book will be very thin indeed.

Does anybody have any experience running new Rockminer R-boxes with Minera? I have two hooked up to a RPI2.
cgminer autorestarts every few hours and then about once a day the Pi freezes altogether. Once the RPI2 is powered off and on again, mining begins until the same thing happens again.
For reference the R-Boxes are running off a breakout board from a Corsair 750w modular PSU and the RPI2 is running off a 2.5A power supply from my old Nexus 5 smart phone.
Any ideas why cgminer keeps restarting and my RPI2 eventually hangs?

Well, I'm back everyone. I'm surprised that hardly any posts have been made on this thread. It should pick up soon. As said in the update, we're all pretty busy paying the bills at the moment and sadly the effort we are putting into Spreadcoin isn't publicly facing on this thread at the moment. Welcome back. I know what are You talking about bills bills bills and more bills The SatoshiNakamoto1 lucker should have all the bills paid In my personal opinion this week has been a watershed moment for this project. If we could all work full time on this then I'm confident that we've got the necessary skills and experience to deliver PoBN and do it well. Of course, we still do have the necessary skills and experience but things will take longer. I don't want this to take any longer than necessary but I'm also aware that extra hands doesn't always equal appropriate progress. We need unanimous agreement on the way forward. I propose that the core team has a debate over the next few days and plans ahead according to our current workloads and then makes a decision on whether those timescales are acceptable. I'm going offline for a few days, literally to somewhere with no internet (!) but I hope to publish a statement on behalf of the team early next week about what is going to happen and when.

Update day tomorrow!
|
|
|
Just a quick note to people following this project.
As I'm sure you noticed there was no weekly update last week. This was in part because of day job demands. I'm working with a new client and it is taking me a while to adjust.
I said in my original post about updates that there would always be an update regardless of progress (or lack of). I dropped the ball last week for which I apologise.
I will be writing an update on Friday.

Is Friday still update day? Yes, it is supposed to be. Some positive non-crypto news that requires some attention has delayed this week's update. Hoping to get an update to you all before the end of the weekend.

i like the idea of dropping the coin tag from the name. spread like butta. spread the wealth. i have several btc nodes ready for spreadilation. apologies if this question is redundant, but what are the requirements, if any, for running a spreadnode? my reference is the coin count requirement of the many masternode coins out now. In light of the recent bitcoin xt debate and civil war, i am building btc core nodes in defiance! spread the power!
Its really nice to hear from a Bitcoin Node operator who is interested in the project

But seriously, I do agree with you.
The discussions we have had for the potential of the SPR network clearly overstep the mark of being defined as a coin. Our primary goal is not to be a payment system for example.
Lets have this debate now rather than in a years time.

just use the check for node version it will state if its XT or not
Is that tactic independent of the recently rendered unreliability? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1154520.0It prevents correct detection of Bitcoin XT adoption in the wild since usage will be known to have been tampered with and thus all statistical data gathered by getnodes can only be considered unreliable.
Cheers Graham Cheers for drawing that to my attention Graham. I don't know whether to laugh or not!

Just got my first payout after about 18 hours of mining.
I've got two Rockminer R-Boxes pointing about 220Ghs at this pool and received 0.00206102 BTC in 18 hours.
I know it is only (less than) one day but so far this is better than I have received from other pools. I'll see what I can say in a week!

I've got 200Ghs pointed your way. Looking forward to seeing how it goes for a mighty hobby miner like me

some exception here and there will not change this fundamental diversity between the two gender, and has nothing to do with growing up, this is my opinion, i consider women inferior when it comes to technology
To quote Maria Klawe: “We’ve done lots of research on why young women don’t choose tech careers and number one is they think it’s not interesting. Number two, they think they wouldn’t be good at it. Number three, they think they will be working with a number of people that they just wouldn’t feel comfortable or happy working alongside.” In other words, one of the major reasons that there are fewer females than men working in technology is that they don't want to associate with the likes of you.

Satoshi wouldn't actually need to write any words to express a negative opinion about recent developments.
All he'd need to do is dump a few thousand BTC from one of his known wallets.

Received with thanks. There was a delay on the HK side according to the tracking number (sat at the airport mail centre for a few days) but arrived to the UK very quickly once it got moving.
Did you have to pay import VAT or not? It's always a bit of a gamble, but it depends on which courier is used No import tax for me. I guess I lucked out.
