1061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Signs of a better year for btc investors on: February 15, 2023, 11:35:55 AM
Looks like we are heading into a good year concerning bitcoins this time since the correction and the bad negative impact of the FTX are already gone. Now when the price is continue rising, people will always ignore its past history, especially when they blame bitcoins for their scam accusations years ago and last year's hilarious blame for the cause of global warming and they put it on bitcoins and the crypto miners. As long as people will open their hearts and minds, these hostile groups will not be successful in their plan to stop the spread and popularity of bitcoins and the rising of its price.
The end of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia also has a good impact on global economic growth. People had also moved on from suffering losses and distrust in the market making them back on investing again. If the momentum continues, this year will be a good year for crypto as the price will recover. However, it was not enough to think about for another ATH I was thinking about gaining back the trust of huge investors and giving some room for newcomers to enjoy the market.
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 15, 2023, 09:15:02 AM
Giannis and Jrue Holiday went off for the Bucks tonight. If they’re playing like that I don’t think any team in the league can beat them. Tonight they got the better of the Celtics in overtime. The Clippers were able to beat the Warriors with Steph. Fox played great for the Kings but it wasn’t enough to beat the Suns. When KD comes back that is going to be one hell of a team.
It was a win, but it was in OT for the Bucks, and they almost lost to a Celtics team who doesn't have their star players like Tatum, Smart and Jalen Brown. The Bucks should have blown them up in the beginning, but they allow the Celtics to almost break their winning streak.

If not for Holiday's clutch 3 in the OT and then Giannis getting the steal and sinking both free throws, it might be a different outcome, just saying.
Yes, I don't know if the Celtics are really that good or the Bulls are just too complacent since Celtics missed their 3 star players.
It wasn't expected, at least on my end because I was thinking that Bucks will cover the spread easily.

Do you mean the Clippers beat the Warriors without Steph in the lineup? Curry is still sideline.
Curry is still sidelined, not timetable for his return yet, looks like his injury is quite serious.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 15, 2023, 08:44:35 AM
TNT vs Blackwater is a high-scoring game with no defense on either team. They are just exchanging baskets, especially in the third quarter. However, TNT is still in control of the game, and I think it's hard for Blackwater to cover the spread with the way they are playing. Also, maybe this is the first time that the total scores combined will reach over 250.
1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on BUSD and other stables. on: February 14, 2023, 09:49:25 PM
What do you guys think about BUSD? Do you think it's worth using over USDT?
What do you think about stables in general?
I saw a lot of hate towards USDT in the past years, but it seems like despite everything it's still winning over other stables and it doesn't look like it will go down soon.

I don't have experienced any problem with the two stablecoins USDT and BUSD,  and for me, they still can be trusted but to some level like just being used to transfer coins or just an exit point. But if we think about holding them for too long, I couldn't think it was the best option.
Yes, it can't deny that there are issues and rumors regarding BUSD and other stablecoins which I think it was good to anticipate that situation rather than wait for it to happen. This is what we called - risky. And it is our choice if we use USDT or BUSD, or which of them are we preferred.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your limit on: February 14, 2023, 09:32:42 PM
It sounds like your friend is very confident that he can make a profit every day or monthly that promises to the loaner that he can pay on time. He actually underestimates the market and that he thinks that he controls the situation but unfortunately, he ended up asking for help as he fails. He is your friend but I think there is a limitation to such word "help" otherwise, he will take advantage of your weaknesses and would rely on you for everything. In this case, a decline should be delivered, it is not being rude to him but this is helping him realize the unstable situation of the market which couldn't assure fixed profit and stop relying on the crypto as collateral for loans.
1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 14, 2023, 07:50:02 AM
Unfortunately, Miami Heat was defeated by the Denver Nuggets by a 4 point margin. It was a close game though, both teams are chasing each other in every quarter but the Heat didn't manage to get the last quarter.
And I lose my bet here. I was thinking that Miami had the advantage since they are at home and Murray did not play, but it was really the teamwork of the Nuggets that made them the better team here. I'm done with Miami Heat, they are so inconsistent.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 14, 2023, 07:04:06 AM
Mavs 121 - Twolves 124.
Luka said he should've given Kyrie the crucial shot in their game against the Kings but now I think he should've taken it. There's some shyness in the air for both Kyrie and Luka, it may take some time to fit in.
LOL, that's hilarious, whoever shoots the ball should have the confidence to do it, whether he'll miss it or not, it's just the play that has to be followed. These superstars have not won a game together, not sure who or what is the problem, but you are right, they need some time to fit in.
1068  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 13, 2023, 09:45:01 PM
Untouchable Saving is a sort of preparation for whatever happens to us like for emergencies and many people are doing this. It is actually we can do this if we wanted to do it and have a plan but in your case OP, I don't think we need to sacrifice our health just to spend less and save some money because it might lead to huge expenses if our health got compromised. We can do savings in the other way, what I did before is to walk from school to our house to save my fair and keep it.

Savings is good but we are also affected by the inflations. It was better to save less but invest more.

We do saving for the future, not only for emergencies but also for investments. But being a student, saving is a tough thing to do especially when our parents don't have enough money to support us and sometimes, we need to sacrifice our wants just to have some savings. If we can manage to save at least 10% of our daily budget that seems big enough.
As I do savings before, I don't think about inflation nor do I think about how much it value years from now because what is important in my mind is to make preparations for the incoming days and I have something to use when it is really in need without asking help to others or from my parents.
1069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 13, 2023, 07:31:39 AM

Yeah, Raptors almost lead the whole game with double digit lead but they allowed the Pistons to come from behind and almost took the game from them.

That's very disappointing as I also thought they'll cover the spread easily, but it turns out their lack of defense almost gave the Pistons a chance to come back. Bogdanovic led the Pistons with his 33 points, his shooting percentage is quite high in this game, and the major reason why Pistons were able to make it a close game.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 13, 2023, 07:01:07 AM
Fine to Ginebra fans if they lose that game but if only the game went out close, that would be more fun and exciting.

Manila Clasico is expected to be like that and because Magnolia is currently at the bottom of the standing and they need a win, we can't avoid those people speculating that something wrong is happening.

Either way, that was a win that Magnolia had to keep up with the standings and be alive at the elimination round.

Yeah, that was a win by Magnolia but I'm sure it's not a convincing win since they are a sister company. While watching the game, I already knew Ginebra's gonna lose because Brownlee was pretty much limited, I'm not sure what happen to him, he seemed like he doesn't want to win, the takeover mode is gone.

I'm not looking that way in terms of begin a sister team but I agree with your statement seeing Brownlee playing like that already a sign that they don't have the chance to win the game, if your main alpha is not showing the intensity it will be a domino effects to everyone, not the same Manila Clasico that we expect to happen, it's a Sunday game but not the same aura for the crowd favorites.

Let's move forward as that game already concluded with a huge deficit from Magnolia,.

Even the crowd seemed to have fully understand already that the game is meant for Ginebra to lose. I have not seen Brownlee played that way, there must be something happening to him, like there's a group of mafia putting his family as hostage to ensure that he'll lose the game intentionally.
1071  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 10, 2023, 07:25:25 AM
...
Do not rush to invest because there is no guarantee that it will bring profit and affect his studies if the investment is at risk.
You have some point in this and it is really hurt to lose our money or our saving for investing in something that never gives ROI. But I don't think it is an excuse for not trying because we can't just draw conclusions or assumptions that investing is a failure until we try it. As long as you choose the right investment it was sure that you earn but if we are afraid and always think negatively, definitely we can't expect good results and of course, nothing will happen to us. He is a student, his parents can support him and that is actually their responsibility.
1072  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 10, 2023, 06:55:37 AM
Since strategy are always changing in trading, what is the relevance of experience? Who would you trust the most for trading tips,
An old trader who has had better days and mostly still relevant because they have a strong reputation for the fact that he has been trading for a while, or would you trust a new trader who is hot in the market and fresh with new strategies?
Which one do you think is the right person to approach;
a trader with long experience in trading or a trader that is just a few days in the market?  I think it was not hard to answer and of course, we choose those who are capable enough to teach us. Though we can say the market is changing and also strategies might not effective anymore. However, we can't hide the fact that experienced trader has the ability to adapt to the market situation which can also teach us and give us some ideas.
1073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 10, 2023, 12:51:48 AM
Well, I'm realizing, we will have very interesting games to bet in this round!

Lakers x Bucks and Magic x Nuggets.

I have no doubts, I will follow this game and also place some bets!

By the way... good luck guys!!

Magic vs Nuggets seemed like a trap for the Nuggets takers. I believe that Magic is good, they are a big surprise especially when up against the best teams in the NBA, so I took the spread which is the handicap +6.

About the Lakers vs Bucks, I had the Lakers early with +5.5, the line moved, it doesn't matter because I like the Lakers to win since OKC has spoiled the big day of Lebron.
1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 10, 2023, 12:23:05 AM
KD and Booker? A perfect duo. Cheesy

Both might be ball dominant players, and a score first players, but I believe there will be an adjustments that will be made just to make this super team to happen. The injuries really is the problem with the Suns right now. Yes they are a super team with 4 all-stars, but they're brittle. Brittle enough to ruin the team if 2 of these 4 will be benched for a long time because of injuries. Overall, let's see how this goes and things will not go the way they want, they will trade CP3 and probably Ayton next off-season.

Durant will likely be the lead scorer of the team as he is hard to defend due to his height. Also, Booker loves to move around, he drives the ball so that kick out will be solid since they have good outside shooters as well, that includes Durant IMO.

I am no worried about their chemistry because Chris Paul will always make it easier for everyone to play on the floor.
Look at the Suns when CP3 was not yet traded to this team, now they are looking better, and more so that they have added Durant already.
1075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: February 09, 2023, 01:13:29 PM
And why we should hate altcoins OP? Because I'd never find it wrong to consider some potential coins for investment as they are worthy as well.
Because if Bitcoin gives us a profit, some altcoins do as well. It was just we need to choose value altcoins, not those new projects and shitcoins. Yes, they are a lot of them flooded on the market which is why we have to be cautious when choosing them. However, choosing those on the top 10 altcoins in the CMC will somehow give us profit assurance as long as we are patient enough to wait for the price rally.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption growing stronger everyday on: February 09, 2023, 12:48:12 PM
Not surprising though but honestly, we are still at a very low level of crypto adoption. Meaning that we still need many years to fully adopt Bitcoin. However, it was not totally bad as it was, we can't urge people to adopt crypto if they are not willing to do so or if the government will not support this. I was already happy to see the growing number of establishments that offer Bitcoin/crypto as a mode of payment. But then, still not enough to make everyone value Bitcoin and give trust in the system because I know uncertainties are still on their mind until now.

I also find that bitcoin adoption is still very low, compared to other assets, it is still nothing. The biggest barrier so far is none other than the government, the government doesn't accept it, and most people don't want to learn about it even though they all have heard about the name bitcoin. It is almost impossible for the government to ban bitcoin, but to become popular and widely accepted, it really needs government support.
Worries and uncertainties arise when we heard rumors about banning Bitcoin because we know that government really has an influence on the community and of course, we don't want to comprise our investment as well. Honestly, we kinda need full support from the government in order to give peace of mind to the businessmen and merchants. I know they are willing to take risks accepting Bitcoin but because they are not sure about the support of the government, they are also doubtful and not sure if they will push through.

Nets, Suns Agree On Kevin Durant Trade
The Suns will acquire Kevin Durant from the Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, four first-round picks and more draft consideration, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic.
https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2023/02/nets-suns-agree-on-kevin-durant-trade.html

I'm quite sure that the Lakers can't afford that kind of trade because they doesn't have that much luxury anymore to give four 1st-round picks and a swap pick, and then giving away 3 players. But at least, Durant was traded to his preferred team as that's what he said last season.

Well, this time the Suns has a great chance of winning a championship. They mess up their chance before, but with Durant now, I believe they will b a better team. They have a great point guard who can also shoot, so having Durant and Booker will make them a very dangerous team.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 09, 2023, 09:07:26 AM

The Warriors has lost the game against the Blazers but you're quite lucky because you're betting on a +3.5 handicap and which covered the spread as the gap was only 3 points.

Same with what happen to my bet, I got the Warriors +4.5 with 1.80 odds. Actually, I was not expecting it will win anymore as the Warriors area already running out of time, good thing Klay Thompson still decided to shot a 3 point shot despite the fact that they have no chance to win the game.
1079  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to buy bitcoin. on: February 08, 2023, 01:42:50 PM
There is no best time to buy and accumulate Bitcoin because you might be waiting for the market to balance or come down and not knowing that the market price is heading to a bullish trend.
We can't predict the market situation but I would say that buying Bitcoin during the price correction is the best time. It is not necessary to wait for the bottom price but at least buying them at a low price seems to be a good idea.

Even the good traders with there analysis also makes mistake that is why they say the market is not your friend but trend is what makes us friend. If you are good I'm following trend you might not have a big problem about the market but the issue may arise from when the market cahnges direction. If the direction continues, you might not know what exactly the position the market is going to take.
The mistake is very common but not a thing we have to worry about because we are not perfect and the volatility of the market makes us hard as well to be at least close to right.
Investing is not a hard thing to do if we are sure about it. As long as we are buying low and knows how to hold until the price increase, we could really make a profit from this.
1080  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: February 08, 2023, 01:18:31 PM
~
He hated the idea of me taking a loan, no matter how small it was. He kept saying "that's how it starts until you're in too deep'.
What I understood from him is that, when you're accustomed to taking loans, you'll take it at every opportunity you get. Borrowing becomes your first and only option even in situations where it should be your last.
There are two types of loans
 1. For Good Purposed - like investment, starting a business, or making use of it to make more money
 2. For Unnecessary Things - like party celebrations, hangouts, or what we called 'leisure

It is a need for us to think wisely and do some priorities that could give us a fortune. If taking a loan is for a valid reason like #1, I don't think we shouldn't. As long as we can manage to repay the debts, then there is no problem because it was more regretting if we miss opportunities.
