1901  Other / Archival / Re: Gambling in Wartime ⚽ 🏈 🏀 🎾 🎰📈🚀💥 on: February 25, 2022, 08:36:26 PM
Lol, I thought this thread was going to ask if people would bet on war events, results and statistics. Just imagine how crazy it would be.
What an crazy reasoning ...lolx
It would have been fun if the war wasn't real, maybe computerised. But the reality is that the war is real and humanity is frowning against it.

Once it is war, every aspect of the economy would be affected including gambling. As you can see btc crashed and people are fleeing, even gamblers would not have a stable mind to gamble. And the games you are gambling on may end up not been played for a long time.

I would not gamble at all if the situation is like this forever.

To OP, I guess my answer is if there are games I would gamble, so let's see if the sporting event will continue as, during the war, some countries are being affected, its allied countries might support the attacked country and will probably shut down competition temporarily, I mean they'll prioritize this serious matter over sporting events.
1902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be banned in the EU starting from 2025 if ... on: February 25, 2022, 08:12:37 PM
It's not even a FUD for me, that's 3 years from now, imagine the scope of adoption we already have by that time. Actually, I'm not worried or never will be worried about that as I heard a lot of bad news, speculation, or anything related to it about bitcoin before, but look where we are now, bitcoin is still here successful.
1903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 25, 2022, 12:59:22 PM
And why did Blackwater owner say in the past that he is gonna sell his team?

That plan is just a product of disappointment since the Blackwater CEO's ego was hit by the PBA since they think they won't have a violation for doing practice while it's not allowed during pandemic. That's the reason why after that violation, Blackwater suddenly announced that they will sell the franchise.

Look at what happened in the upcoming days and weeks after that plan, the CEO become cool and goes back to his usual self and didn't push selling the franchise. That's the story and not related to the PBA politics like what you are thinking I believe.

Probably because no one is interested in buying the team? I don't know, seems like PBA now is not anymore as entertaining as in the past, maybe because we can easily access to watch other leagues like local and international leagues. Either way, I still hope for the best of our Philippine basketball leaguel.

No, that is not the case because there's a lot of interested buyers for sure as there's also a lot who wants to own a team in the league. But there's no information about why did the CEO suddenly announced to sell the franchise and what happened why he changed his mind few weeks after. PBA can get over this, hopefully they would survive much more longer.

Well, this is just my personal opinion, I could be wrong and I hope so because I still want to see the PBA to continue entertaining people. The season is far from over, there's still plenty of time, for sure we will hear some update regarding the Alaska team on who is the lucky person who bought it.
1904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Martinez - Feb 26, 2022 on: February 25, 2022, 12:04:41 PM

And as expected, Jerwin is the favorite to win 1.16, Fernando Martinez 5.20.

Seriously? I can't believe that Ancajas is heavily favored here with that kind of odds, I think it will be around 1.50 and below, but that is too low, I mean who would take 1.16? It's not even a sure win IMO.

By the way, what sportsbook is your basis for the odds?

Actually 1.15 at sportsbet.

There are no alternative lines now, only the Moneyline, you can get 1.15 for Ancajas while 5.20 for Martinez.
Check it here;
https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/boxing/international/international-matchups/ancajas-jerwin-vs-martinez-fernando-6216379dd2eeb928bac23cb4

That's even lower than sportsbet but the odds are still low and I won't take it. I'm still checking on the betting odds from time to time, and as of my current check, the alternative odds is still not available yet, I have a feeling that they are going to make this up by tomorrow.

edit : oops, looks like the entire odds are out, check it out now.
1905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mistake I see so many people make with local wallets on: February 25, 2022, 11:15:29 AM
Hey!

I have been getting some beginners into crypto outside of the forum for a bit. Mostly just people from the other communities i'm a part of asking how to buy and hold bitcoin or some other coin. Most of them used Exodus Wallet on their PC, which is fine but it leaves the door open for your wallet getting stolen if you don't know what you're doing. A good amount of the people I know that use Exodus on their PC download untrustworthy and cracked programs. These people are holding hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars worth of coin on the same device they are downloading cracked programs and shady things on. These beginners need to understand that a crypto wallet doesn't work like a bank. If you get your key stolen your out of luck, no one has your back when your keys get stolen.
They aren't yet experiencing getting hacked that is why they still using it and perhaps, never mind it. Most of the time we think it was right and we don't even think about it until it comes and then ask another way to secure our funds and what wallet is ideal.
I'm not sure how you responded after hearing those things and I assume that you give them a piece of advice rather than leaving them having such trust to exodus wallet.
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Altcoins will Rock in 2022. on: February 25, 2022, 10:10:57 AM
I still have faith in SOL and AVAX continues to have another explosive year.
Trust is very important when it comes to investing as this will be the reason why we become patient and willing to wait until it goes to high again.

While the market is under pressure to increase volatility in the direction of the crypto winter, no one can predict whether this will be a bear or the next bull cycle will begin.  It would be best to put a longer period until 2025, that will be a big enough momentum to take shape through the recession and what will prove from bitcoin or the crypto market.  Of course I expect more if bitcoin continues to hit new aths, that is the biggest catalyst.  Also I expect a makeover from DOT with web3 compatibility
No one will be able to predict the market price, not even the closest one. Besides, 2025 is too far I believe we can experience a lot of changes in the market just like another ATH or worse drop. It all be possible and that investing and holding the right coins is really a great idea. However, to expect much isn't good anyway. It all be surprising and we need to be versatile.
1907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 24, 2022, 03:44:10 PM

We all know that PBA runs for a long time and almost 59 years in services.

No mate, you must have mistaken PBA for PBL because PBA have just started way back 1975 and yet to celebrate their 50th this coming April 2025.

Yes, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippine_Basketball_Association, it started in 1975.
honestly, I don't know when PBA started until that discussion is brought here.

Well, 45 years already as of now, it's a long year of existence, so I don't think PBA will stop their league to give way to the new league like the MPBL.
The partnership, hopefully, will strengthen the league, I don't know the reason behind but hoping it's for the better.

1909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I convinced a Stock Trader to Invest in Bitcoin on: February 24, 2022, 12:09:04 PM
With the ongoing adopting of Bitcoin worldwide? i don't think traders from different areas will still deny that crypto investing is profitable so yes they are now considering this to be their investment tools aside from their normal ways like stocks or real estate ..
Yes of course, and i am pretty sure when many of such investors get into the Bitcoin network, they will make Bitcoin their number one investment asset, if you look at different assets today, Bitcoin has to be up there as number one or thereabout with all its features and advantages for investors, it's obviously an opportunity that smart people will definitely take advantage of. Having said that, influx and adoption by institutional investors didn't just start now, so i expect it to continue till mass adoption becomes reality. Bitcoin has proven to be sustainable for the long term, and investors usually look to the future, so they'll choose Bitcoin more often than not.
Yes and this will lead those investors from different areas of profiteering , from real estate and stocks , crypto will be their place to invest sooner..

eventually they will and pretty sure that many of them are now studying and researching about this possibilities and may bring them to crypto in the near time.

They'll soon find out that crypto investment is more profitable than the stock market and bonds. That is why we don't need them to push and convince us to invest in crypto as surely they already have the gasp about this. As they are in investment, they will surely find other ways to make more money and to find out that crypto is supposed to answer their call and wants.
Well, Bitcoin is getting more popular this time, they can't surely ignore this but it gives them curiosity.
1910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is one but has many attributes on: February 24, 2022, 11:22:32 AM
Ultimately it stands that Bitcoin is to be used as a currency. It being a safe asset was a natural result due to the nature of it's decentralization and limited supply. It being an investment stands on the foundation that it would be used as a currency imo, since if it isn't used for that purpose, then I don't think it could stand as an investment anymore. Though honestly that mindset would probably be changed once more countries start accepting Crypto, aka adoptions all over the place. People couldn't really use Bitcoin most of the time since stores don't generally accept them after all.
I'm into the look of Bitcoin adoption for all countries but can't deny how it hards to work persistently. Might it give changes to the mindset of the people but I believe that this could never change the way they look at Bitcoin as the majority will still consider this as an investment, especially in the 3rd world countries. Honestly, what is makes Bitcoin known is because of its investment potential, not as currency and this remains the same even though adoption has been taken strong.
1911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: February 23, 2022, 04:31:47 PM
Obviously Golovkin vs Murata is going to proceed as a sure thing for Golovkin and I think Murata knows it. Maybe thats the real reason behind the constant unending reschedules and waiting. Murata wants to put things off indefinitely because he can't really win against GGG.

I also find it quite amusing that all 26 voters voted for GGG in this thread's poll. Amusing but not surprising. I may be wrong for the reason why its being rescheduled but thats just my take on things.

Has there been any news from Murata on this?

I doubt that is the reason, otherwise, Murata did not agree to fight GGG in the first place. We all know that despite both are champions, GGG is still the heavy favorite to win the fight, and since they go for a unification fight, we consider this fight as the battle of the best.

So i realized maybe not all strategy is suitable for us., i mean we need to choose which one startegy is more effective and forget the rest.
That is the reality in trading. You can copy and use strategies that work from other traders but this could never assure that it will work on us. That was because we are too different when it comes to decision making and this can never be copied by anyone. That is why we don't envy others for being successful in their trading carrier as we all have a different journey in life, maybe this is not for us. But if we are meant in here, it was best to make our won strategy and help it to improve more rather than asking/copying other strategies.
1914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto prices are starting to strengthen again on: February 23, 2022, 10:55:59 AM
Not new to us and really isn't surprising. A drop in price can be just in a meanwhile and pumps will come next. That is why I don't make myself worried in the case I saw a market decline as surely recovery will tend to follow. But, it was too early to say that we are leading to another peak as just a few pumps aren't enough to become our basis unless that becomes consistent.
I'm checking on the market trend not so often, perhaps it was a good sign.
1915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 22, 2022, 02:15:00 PM
They know that the popularity of the league is slowly declining already because of lack of competitiveness that they also are the reasons why it happened.
Either way, there is no other choice but to accept teams and offers outside PH just to make the league survive.

The popularity is not declining but instead, the number of viewers is the one affected. If you reading some sports page on Facebook groups and pages, the number of comments from the fans for every news, article, or scoops are still having great numbers.

Let's wait first for what's behind the partnership. It's a good development as far as PBA Marcial says. If it will give a negative thing about the league, they will not go into a partnership. These people behind PBA are not dumb to just be in a partnership without an advantage. These are professionals in making business.

But why it has only happened now? And why did Alaska suddenly decide to sell their franchise after so long? And why did Blackwater owner say in the past that he is gonna sell his team?.... I guess it will add up the story, team owners aside from SMC and Pangilinan are not happy.
1916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Amir Khan vs Kell Brook - Feb 19, 2022 on: February 22, 2022, 01:01:03 PM
I am very well familiar with Kelly Brook,  he is one of my favourite fighter for sometime I have been watching boxing.  But I can't really tell who win this fight, I don't too know amir Khan very well. When professional boxers fight sometimes you can't really tell who the winner will be.

Then clearly you don't follow boxing as this fight is over if you read the post several pages back.

I suggest to the OP to lock this thread for good, no need to discuss it further. Kell Brook already won the fight more than 24 hours ago.

You can open another thread regarding Brook's future fight.

That's right, we can close this thread as the fight is over, Brook will continue his journey while Khan might settle for retirement.

Sending OP a DM about your suggestion to lock the thread.
1917  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best strategy for crypto trading on: February 22, 2022, 12:35:25 PM
it takes patience to be able to do any work, including strategies on crypto trading, not just looking at good coins but also having to see really good movements, because that is needed to be able to get the difference from effective movements.
Good strategies will actually gives you a desirable output that we wanted as if this is missing, even having those good and profitable coins will never give that thing.

Quote
does not guarantee that the coin at the best rank will be better for trading, always choose the one that is more effective, so also don't hesitate to hold the coin meme if it is also profitable but it shouldn't be too long to hold it.
meme coins are not and can't be considered profitable coins. They only got in the hype because of someone trying to manipulate the price which I think is too risky especially when planning for long-term holding. Better choose those coins that are naturally profitable as you can at least assure something in return.
1918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally got paid for some work in bitcoin on: February 22, 2022, 11:58:36 AM
Those who has got paid in Bitcoin for their work during last several weeks, how do you cope with price drops? I know that most of you most probably just hold, but still, today the reward your work is significantly lower than it was when you and your client made an agreement of work and payment. I am interested how to do cope with emotional discomfort. As this is not the same as you have made a trade and your profit is lower. Your work evaluates lower than is used to be.

No need to have hard feelings about drops of price , we just have to cope with it either by holding it for sometime umtill when their is increase in the market or to sell if the bitcoin is needed in urgent , it can be in the other way round too anytime if payment is made and the price goes up. Their is a quote which says "if you meet the dip today do not panic  it also possible to meet some gains tomorrow when the market rises in values".
That will be the risk upon having Bitcoin as it possibly loses its value for quite some time that is why we have to convert it to fiat money if we wanted to be safe or if we are not preferred for holding. This is one of the concerns that many workers and even merchants halt to accepting Bitcoin, of course, fiat is the safest one as no change in its value. This certainly be an option and our willingness to accept it, and OP is quite happy to have this experience without minding the changes.
1919  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bear vs Bull : The Beauty Of Cryptocurrency on: February 21, 2022, 12:39:20 PM
It is a matter of how people respond to the abrupt changes in the market. Many had sold their crypto during the bear season for they are worried about the market will going to drop more without realizing that they can still make a profit upon waiting for the recovery. I'd see that FEAR is a big problem in most of us here, uncontrollable emotions trigger unwanted decisions that make us regret. I'm into that situation before but I realize that we can make it right if we are optimistic about the market flow.
With all the events that make the crypto market unpredictable, we can't be more profitable if we always have fear inside. Instead, we should be more risk takers as there can be no possible big changes that will take place if we never dare to take the risk. And yes, being more optimistic too could always give us an edge so we can make more profits regardless of the current season, be it bullish or bearish. But one thing is certain, bull and bear have always bring opportunities not to lose but to offer us profits.
^ Every market action is very important to us when bull market comes holders are happy and then when the bear market comes, buyers or investors are quite too happy because they can able to purchase at the lower price and they know that someday this will give benefit to them in the long run.
It is natural to BTC that there is an up and down price movement and that is called fluctuation which is in theta way they are easy making money in trading.
Nevertheless, if you hold BTC you have nothing to lose if you know how to control it.
If we all have this kind of thinking, we can't hear any complaints but because we all have a different mindset when it comes to market changes, this will unlikely to happen. We already have the opportunities and it keeps on knocking us but too sad that many were ignoring it while keeping those negative mindsets. Honestly, many people are not learning yet, they are getting far once seeing the market is red.

hi have you ever heard of the binomo platform? i lost $300k while trading on the binomo platform. i feel stupid, i thought the binomo site is a cryptoqurrency trading site in general, uh it turns out the site is a gambling site under the guise of trading. this is a valuable experience because i have lost all the money in just seconds  Cry
nowadays people around me think that cryptocurrency is a scam, people no longer believe in bitcoin. the name of the cryptoqurrency is tarnished because of the binomo platform  Cry
That you never know because you'd never conduct any searches before using this platform. Losing $300k for just in seconds, easy money for them, actually.
Well, I would really feel bad for it but somehow, most of the time our experience will give us some learnings that we can never forget. This is really not, as for sure after experiencing like this we probably change our style and most probably, we make a thorough research of the platform before we gonna use them for the sake of not happening again.
