1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 19, 2023, 12:38:00 PM

Ginebra -6.5 @2.05 (boosted) is the way for me to go tonight, good luck everyone.

Sorry mate, but you got unlucky on this bet as Brownlee did not play in the second half. It's unfortunate timing, but since you didn't win this time, I'm sure Ginebra will win Game 6 and push this series to Game 7.

Just like an ordinary day in the office, we win some and we lose some. What matters is that we come back to win.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 19, 2023, 12:22:35 PM
It can happen that way or the young Memphis will use this as a good inspiration to win the game. Morant-less can be a good advantage for the Lakers, as the main gunner / scorer really affects the offense of their opponents.

Time for everyone to step up and provide numbers to cover what they'll possibly missed while Morant
is still in question if he will play in game 2.

The Lakers are full of confidence now ever since Westbrook was traded. They seem to have found the best roster that could win a championship. If they win here despite being in a lower ranking, I believe they still have a shot against the winner of the GSW and Kings series.

Game 2 is very important for Memphis. If we believe they have a chance to win the series, then they should win Game 2 as it's a must-win for them.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 18, 2023, 11:22:33 AM

Although Donaire may be old, he is still worth watching as long as he keeps winning.

That's being conditional, I think we cannot guarantee that he will win. When he fought Inoue, he was still entertaining to watch because he wasn't afraid to go toe-to-toe, and I liked his confidence in believing he could beat Inoue via knockout, which is why he let his guards off. However, Inoue is an exceptional fighter, and it won't be the same with Santiago, as he's not on the same level as Inoue.
1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 18, 2023, 10:25:30 AM
My pick for tonight.

Philadelphia 76ers (-3.5) vs Brooklyn Nets = First Quarter Win 1,86 Odds.

Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors (-2.5) = Golden State Warriors  Win 1,86 Odds.

My last bet lost but, I hope my picks for tonight will win.
Good luck guys.

It's amazing how much golden state gets the benefit of the doubt.  They are a terrible road team all year long and they are favored on the road against a quote better team at least by record.  Getting close to the end of the 4th quarter but how can anyone bet on golden state favored on the road against a higher seed.  I still think they will win the series but no way could I lay in on them on game 1 or 2.

That's not what the bookies thought. They believed that regardless of the Warriors' record on the road, people would still bet on them as they are a very popular team. Based on the last two games, I'm sure the Warriors were the public's bet, and that means the public lost a lot of money in those games.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 16, 2023, 07:54:02 PM
I am just curious about how does online casino pay for their promotion on their influencers? Where does their earning comes from? How will you get scammed when you try online casino? How can you tell that online casino is safe?
when you place a bet on a casino's platform and it turns out on the losing side, where does the funds goes??
I thought as much...

If the where no profit in the casino business, they'll be little or no casino out there.

Well, when you lose a gambling game all the money goes to the gambling site and in case you win the gambling houses give you the winning amount. The point to note is that gambling games are not peer to peer games, hence any money lost is a direct profit for the gambling site.
So in order for anyone to run a casino, they need initial funds to pay out the winners but as the casino grows more and more people will lose money and then there won't be a problem for the gambling casino to pay to the winners as they would be collecting huge amounts from people who lose in gambling.
Remember that any gambling casino whether online or offline has its own house edge over its players so clearly people often lose while the casinos are the ones accumulating profits. And those profits are also being used when casinos pay off winners. But we can’t hide the fact that casinos are even more profitable than its players simply because all casino are design to always win than to lose their funds.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 16, 2023, 01:47:52 PM
Certainly there is no strategies in gambling. And if by any means there is any strategy then it should be the cautions to gamble or to gamblers.
There is no winning strategy towards gambling, especially when it comes to casino gambling. The closest you could come is in the sportsbook but even that too comes without any assurance as you still could be beaten on your best bet.

Though, there is nothing wrong with having a style or format of play. It's one way to ensure control over what funds your ready to gamble with and how many tries you would want to take before you either win or exhaust your gambling funds.

It's aways cool you approach gambling with some permutation, even though it's a game of luck.
Right, there are no working strategies for gambling. But people still chose to gamble more believing that their own strategies or styles are effective and would somehow attract luck and profits in the end. That’s the reason why gamblers lose more money than make and earn significant amount of profits. So if you are not cautious and disciplined enough, gambling will definitely used up all your hard-earned savings and put you into its worst situation.
1087  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 16, 2023, 12:44:19 PM
It's okay to borrow if you intend to pay it back and need it. Sometimes it's necessary, but you shouldn't make it a habit like you will borrow to pay another debt. It will be a never-ending cycle that you will not stop doing until it affects your life and go into some parts of your life. It will manifest somehow.

Unless you borrow for asset purchasing that could generate income, that's one of the best things you can do when borrowing money. Make more money with it.
Borrowing is actually not a bad idea if your intention is good, especially if it will be used to generate more income for you. But if you intend to borrow just to pay your first debt, I don’t think it’s reasonable enough. It will only put you into more debts and eventually make yourself drown to it, and when you’re already there, you will find yourself hard to recover and get rid of debt. So as much as possible, learn to avoid borrowing money because that will eventually cause you to struggle financially in the future. You might benefit from it for now, but once you fail paying your debt, it will definitely put you into a lot of stress and pressures.
1088  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: April 16, 2023, 12:21:40 PM
No, it is not too late to start investing in cryptocurrencies. In fact, many people continue to invest their money in cryptocurrencies and make a profit from it. Of course, as with any investment, there are risks, but if you research the market and understand it, you can find many promising opportunities. All in all, investing in cryptocurrencies can be an interesting and rewarding experience, but requires caution and discipline.
As long as you are seeing cryptocurrencies still in good profits, then investing in it is never too late or too early. So investing at the moment will still make a perfect entry to the market. But if you keep on refusing to invest and wait for the perfect time to invest, probably you will end up missing opportunities and eventually lose all your expected profits. So never stay in doubt, start taking some risks so you will experience life changing profits.
1089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter plans to offer buying and selling of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: April 15, 2023, 09:59:13 PM
They are all rumors: https://twitter.com/bitcoinlfgo/status/1645804390413135875?s=20

They are confirmed to be fake rumors.
Even if they are to be true, I don't really see any good thing that it can add to Bitcoin, because it will be a centralized means of exchanges and another medium for Twitter to generate more income from those that will use the system to buy and sell.
I don’t know what’s behind this but even if this is true, I don’t think it will work for bitcoin since Twitter is way more centralized and requires a lot of KYC verification once buying and selling will be put into execution. Twitter is only meant for social media exposure, not to act as crypto exchange.

1091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin. on: April 15, 2023, 09:13:16 PM
Please correct me if I am wrong
Even in today's modern world, except for a few people in Europe-America, the general public of the entire world does not have a proper understanding of Bitcoin. Sad Sad Except European-American, anyone who have a little idea about Bitcoin also have misconceptions. Due to this problem, many people are unable to invest in a great platform like Bitcoin even if they want to. This problem may not seem like a big deal to many, but think about third world countries. A sad reality is, in my country 80-90% of the population are not familiar with Bitcoin.
Is there any way to solve this problem?
People can actually invest if they want to. With all the available resources online and are even free, people can be educated if they have the strong will and eagerness to learn all about bitcoin and how it can be profitable for us. But if they tend to be lazy to do it on their own, well they can’t expect for the government to educate them since bitcoin is still not totally adopted as a legal currency. They have to do the initiative if they don’t want to remain naive and ignorant.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Times When Casinos Will Ask Certificate That You Are A Responsible Gambler on: April 14, 2023, 09:58:16 PM
Will there come a time when online casinos will implement that you upload a responsible gambler certificate before you continue to play because of too many government restrictions it's not necessary for newly registered gamblers but for gamblers who lose a lot of money and their activity is they are suspected to be addicted to gambling.
The reason why the government will implement this, as a precaution, is to protect people from losing their wealth and their health from too much gambling because of addiction, it's a way of protection.
Just face the reality that not all the times the government can protect their people, especially in cases like gambling where it has already existed decades ago. That’s why I don’t see this happening in the future. What the government can do is to keep reminding the people to be responsible in all their actions and decisions, just like in gambling, if they can’t see theirselves managing the addiction later on, then it’s better not to engage in it in the first place. If they won’t listen, then I guess it’s not a loss of the government but the gamblers themselves.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can this be effective against the increasing numbers of gamblers? on: April 14, 2023, 09:39:28 PM
Not gonna affect people.

People still gonna gamble, especially in "Football" which generated the most revenue on gambling. As you can see, even in the World Cup on QATAR with most religions countries.

Gambling revenue comparing 2018 world cup has just increase 13% without any betting sponsor.
I don’t see what OP has shared will take an effect to gamblers. As much as there is good team to bet, gamblers will never stop from gambling, regardless if there is no betting sponsor. Most particularly for an event like football, everyone is eyeing on it, so expect that the more viewers will pay to watch it, the bigger amount of gamblers will be more visible.
1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: April 14, 2023, 09:20:15 PM
Hello everyone!
Recently I was thinking about BTC payments and I believe that the system is moving towards bitcoin adoption and paying with bitcoin. And it's great!

But the problem for me is that anytime I think about paying with BTC I feel somehow uncomfortable. I always remember the guy who spent 30+ bitcoins on pizza and now these bitcoins are worth a fortune. Like I don't want to be this guy and pay with an asset that WILL go up in price. It feels like you paying more for the product from a future perspective.

What are your thoughts about this? Personally, I usually try to buy with stablecoins if I have some, it just feels more natural for me. I don't want to touch my BTC while the market is still bad.
Now that the market is good, are you still uncomfortable spending bitcoin? I think it’s really normal to feel uneasy when you spend your bitcoin knowing it could hit its all time high in the future. But bitcoin isn’t good for hodling forever, right? You have to spend it so it can serve its purpose, and right now with the current price of btc, I think that’s not bad if you spend a portion of it. But to be honest, as long as I have enough fiat to spend, I will still continue to hold bitcoin and spare it from spending.
1095  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I become productive in this forum? on: April 14, 2023, 08:56:18 PM
Don't give it too much thought! Posting and sharing what you have just learned will get easier with practice as long as you have the drive to learn proactively. Just make a habit of reading and fact-checking before posting to avoid spreading false information that might do more harm than good. And, of course, accept criticism and corrections from other members and learn from them.
True. Take your time in learning. Eventually, when you become more exposed to the forum and its rules, and how the forum works, you will also slowly grasp the ideas on how to be more productive in the forum and become a good influencer for newbies. Remember that there is no competition inside the forum, everyone is fair and is given equal opportunities. And the more you show willingness to learn and open to more ideas and suggestions, the more you become beneficial in the forum.
1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 13, 2023, 12:21:45 PM
The Pelicans and Thunder are still playing, Pelicans has a slight lead after the first half.
They have been so predictable compared to OKC, where they do not rely too much on SGA. It was an entertaining game, and from the very beginning, despite the Pelicans having the lead, I always believed that OKC would not give the game easily. As I saw it, they were making great adjustments in the second half and had beaten the home team in a very close game.

OKC play all in and they really push the game for their favor, SGA as the main alpha didn't disappoint their fans as he really steps up
and take that important shot to take the lead and then win the game.

Nothing to say about NO, they play also what they've thought can win the game. It's just the last-minute adjustments that matter and OKC have that enough energy to get the win.

I agree, OKC is really a very dangerous team in this play-in, and there could be days that they are going to play and spoil the game in their favor. Just like in this game, it was very close but SGA proved himself and Josh Giddey as the duo put the game here.

Pelicans gave everything, but Ingram's effort is not enough. they seems to rely more on him in crunch time as compare to OKC who are really relax in this game and whoever gets the ball are confident that they are going to score. They are going to face the Timberwolves next and it could be sure berth for them if they win.

I don't know which team is better between the Pelicans and Timberwolves, but with the current issues of the Timberwolves, it might affect the team's performance, so OKC might have another upset win again. Gobert was suspended for one game, so he wasn't able to play against the Lakers. But I'm sure he will be playing in their do-or-die game against the OKC. However, as I said, it boils down to what chemistry they will show.
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 13, 2023, 10:46:36 AM
I had OKC to win the game and qualify and they have huge young talents to win the game but I went to sleep on 3rd quarter on Bulls game thinking that they have no chance to comeback and when I woke up today and I saw that they indeed made a comeback ...I was shocked and happy on the same time and I had to search for highlights of 4th quarter because that is where the magic happened.
At least you woke up with great news. The 4th quarter is the most important quarter of the game, especially if the game is close or the team is trailing. What the Bulls did showed their experience in the playoffs, and with good chemistry among their superstars, there's no dominant player on the team. They work together to win, but their top scorer was Zach Lavine, who is a pure superstar in the NBA.

They succeeded in the first step, so they should finish the Heat to achieve their goal.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 13, 2023, 10:19:02 AM
I have some doubts about Game 3. Of course, people will expect Ginebra to bounce back and take the lead, but what if that's not the script? I guess I have to be more careful here. Instead, I will focus on the total score since this game is very physical. Under seems to be the best play for me.

First game total 192
2nd game total 177

The average is only 184.5 points.

If we base it on the average total scores of both teams in the last two games, then the under will likely hit.

The total now, according to @Sanitough, is 209.5, which is too far compared to the average. I understand the basis of the bookies as they might still be based on the average of these two teams during the regular games, so the law of averages will likely come into play. It's still very unpredictable though. So you're right, we need to be careful here.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: April 12, 2023, 11:46:27 AM
Welcome to scam casino.
Why not just name the casino to warn everyone here who plans to claim bonuses
I wouldn’t call it a scam, beside that i didn’t make a deposit yet. The whole story started when i got the no deposit no wagering required bonus from them and i managed to make a profit of it. I didn’t know that they require a deposit and to wager that deposit by x5.
The casino is Trustdice and also known here. But i believe that many users aren’t aware of their terms.

Anyway i may try to make a deposit just so i can withdraw my winnings. Hopefully they don’t close my account because of this topic now Lol
closing your account for this thread will be ridiculous and would only prove that they are actually a scam gambling site. there is no reason for an account to be banned/closed because they are being called out about their ridiculous wagering requirement for a non-bonus deposit.
If a user raises their concerns and the website decides to close their account, it would be a sign that they are a scam site. However, I am confident that they will not do this, as they are aware of the size of the bitcointalk community. Once evidence of a scam is presented, DT members here will likely tag their account.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 12, 2023, 11:21:06 AM
DeMarcus Cousins came out and said that he believes he is the third best center in the league right now. That’s a little crazy when you think about how few games he’s played the last 5 years. No doubt he’s a beast and probably deserves a chance. There must be something keeping him from being signed though and I think it’s his attitude not any blackballing.
Attitude. That's one of the problems. Then, injuries. Finally, he always fouls out when he was in Denver Nuggets. If you are one of the best centers in the league then you must have the skills to avoid those kinds of fouls. He probably doesn't know how good contests would be. I think Kevon Looney is one of the centers that are good at contesting shots with just straight arms.
Despite that, I still want to see if there are changes in his attitude toward the game. I want to see him play in the NBA again.

Now, we have the Lakers secured at 7. I love what they did with the Antman. He only scored 9 points in 43 minutes.
Tomorrow, the Pelicans versus the Thunders. Who will battle the Timberwolves for the 8th spot? My prediction is the Pelicans will win it.

Very hard to predict that OKC still has some good players that might upset the Pelicans, SGA for sure will have to elevate in this game. Although BI and CJ could be a problem for the OKC, specially BI who is really good in their last 10 games.
BI has already found his rhythm, and he is very dangerous in his favorite spot. Thus, OKC needs to double-team him to avoid that. CJ, on the other hand, will likely make more 3-point shots as that is where he excels. You are right, it's hard to predict, but I'll go with the home team.

The initial line for the Pelicans is -5.5. Might be tempting to bet, but we will see.

Might be good to see the game first before making our bets.

That's quite high, actually, but in case they win here, I don't think they will cover the spread since it will probably be a close game.
