Huh I though we already established it was nullius?

I put in my reservation for a mk4 a couple of weeks ago.  I paid for it, and then a few days later I got an email stating my reservation has been turned into an order, and I should pay shipping.  I still haven't heard from them whether it has shipped or not, but I expect to receive it in the next few weeks.  I'm planning to do a thorough review of the wallet including it's NFC capacities once I get it.

I didn't buy it for it's NFC capabilities, and honestly I don't plan to use that feature much if at all after playing with it, I just want get a picture of it's functionality.

So much drama but they are still safe, it was never easy to get points on home soil Germany.
Of course it isn't, it won't be easy to get points in Italy as well. That is why loss to Hungary hurts even more. I don't expect Germany and Italy to lose points against them and that automatically puts England in battle to avoid relagation instead of fighting for top spot.

Lot of games still to be played and it can all change fast.
I mean it is a very very unimportant series, hence why nobody really cares about it. Nations league? Really? I would send players from u21 to battle there, so they would gain some experience against other superstars and learn the difference between their regular other u21 opponents, and the amazing players that got better after 21 and became superstars. Know a ton of players who weren't stars during their u21 years, and became one afterwards.

This is why it would be good experience. Let England not even be there, let them lose, who cares? World cup is right around the corner in a few months during November, if they win that, it would be more than enough.

Yeah, I tend to agree about the EUFA Nations League.  I'm a Premier League fan, so I would love to see England move ahead, but I don't see it as a priority for them.  It's good to see some of the PL's superstars playing this time of year, but I don't see them putting in much effort for this competition.  This coming November is going to be a whirlwind of good times; the USA qualified for the World Cup (barely) which adds a bit of excitement for me, Arsenal gave me a lot of hope for the coming Premier League Season, the Niners did pretty good last season and the NFL will be getting into the most exciting part of their season.  I can't wait.

If those aren't the ramblings of a deranged lunatic I don't know what are.  But that's not the point of this post; I might be a little paranoid and it may be too soon to tell whether my suspicions are accurate for not, but I wouldn't be surprised if death_wish is trying to get himself nominated to DT.  Probably to exact revenge against those who tagged the nullius account and exposed him for the cunt that he is.

The death_wish account only came to my attention when he attacked one user for claiming he had nothing to hide, and left him a rather nasty review on his trust page.  I guess that offended death_wish.  He seems to be taking his time, but a couple of days ago he left this post in the address staking thread:

This shows how a signed message can expose lies.

Ah, the glories of digital signatures!

Tagged.  According to DarkStar_’s 2022-02-02 negative trust feedback, “Woke up after 2 years of inactivity, staked an address and immediately requested a 0.064 BTC (~$2500 USD) loan.”  icopress concurred.

Record that may be useful to others:

Thanks to SellFullMember18 for stepping forward.  Sorry, you will understand if I do not send merit to your account (LOL).  I didn’t look into this—but for whatever reason, it was good of you to come clean and stop that account from its swindles.

Edits:  Added note, fixed links botched by forum’s wonky BBcode renderer.

Anyway, like I said I might be being paranoid, but I wouldn't put it past him to be so vindictive.  It's worth noting that if nullius was still here today he'd be -7 on the DT scale this month.  I'm not in the habit of excluding newbies in my trust settings because that rarely has any affect.  Usually I wait until there's a good reason, but death_wish just earned himself a pre-emptive exclusion from me.

12 is the way to go if possible. Makes the league more competitive and it is just overall more fun. 10 isn’t too bad but 12 is kind of that sweet spot.

I agree, we should try to get 12 participants if we can.  It was fun last year with a small crew, but it would be fun to have some more competition.  There're usually two or three really good running backs, quarterbacks, receivers, and tight ends in the league, and with fewer teams it makes it easy for one manager to stack up his team with these high scoring players.  Having more teams makes that harder to do, and we'll all have to rely on the more average players week in, week out.

I’d be happy to be commissioner of the league if you guys wanted. I run the other league from here and have many times over the years. Would be no problem.

Awesome, thanks for volunteering.  I would just as soon let South Park decide if he's willing to keep the job for another year, but if not you've got my vote.  It's early still, so we have plenty of time.
1447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: June 09, 2022, 04:04:28 PM
Warriors took the lead in the 3rd quarter then it all went Bostons way. Incredible performance by the Celtics. They needed it, now the Warriors need to steal game 4.

Yeah I was already counting my sats when they took the lead in the 3rd quarter.  The Celtics were on the rebounds like nothing I've seen against the Warriors this season.  Usually GS is one of the best at defending and allowing one or two shots max.  The rebounds were the killer.

Anyway, I expect to see GS tie up the series on Friday.  The NBA Finals have needed all 7 games to decide the champions for the last 7 years straight, and I don't expect either of these teams to run away with it.  They are very evenly matched, which makes the series a lot fun.

I also think your red trust, made 2021-10-29, so why only now is this a problem.....! Where were you then, when @Timelord2067, took aim at you.

It wasn't a problem because Timelord2067 wasn't on DT, so the review didn't affect his trust score.  Since Timelord2067 has been elevated to DT2 for the month of June the review is visible and looks like a blemish.  I know what you're saying; if it's a problem now it should have been a problem then regardless of Timelord2067 DT status, but I can understand the OP's concern as well.  I have plenty of red-tags that are retaliatory and unjustified, and none of them bother me at all.  However, I would hate to see one pop up as "trusted" feedback if one of those accounts made it's way to DT2.

It's an unjustified tag in my opinion, and questioning the OP about why it's suddenly a problem for him isn't really helpful.
1449  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.2.2 Released on: June 09, 2022, 02:38:08 PM
Electrum 4.2.2 fixes a vulnerability that can be exploited on some Windows+SMB configurations. Please upgrade if you have not done so already.

So it's an offline brute-force attack against the user's Windows account password.
I don't know, but even after obtaining the Windows password, how will the hacker be able to steal the coins?
Or is he talking about the wallet password.

I think the attack vector was somewhat trivial, not something that is necessarily practical for a hacker to use as a way to steal your coins.  Regardless, a responsible development team that learns of a potential attack vector of any kind resulting from using their program knows that isn't cool.  So when the Electrum dev team learned about this potential attack vector they addressed it.  Just more evidence of what a great group of folks we've got working on Electrum.
1450  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.2.2 Released on: June 09, 2022, 01:29:48 PM
I've just found on Twitter some interesting/intriguing announcement.

Electrum 4.2.2 fixes a vulnerability that can be exploited on some Windows+SMB configurations. Please upgrade if you have not done so already.

From what it was written in here the importance of the update was not so much obvious. Now it is. So, especially the Windows users, please update asap (myself included).

Good catch.  Interesting that the release notes don't mention anything about that issue.  It looks like this attack vector could be used to brute force the Windows password of a user who opens a pay request using a QR code.  It's specific to Windows machines only, and only if you use QR codes to import pay requests.  It appears that versions between 2.1 and 4.2.2 have this vulnerability.  Here're the details I found on Github:

Description
Impact
In BIP70 payment requests, Electrum allows the ?r= field to contain file:// URIs (besides http(s)).
The ?r= field can contain an arbitrary file URI, chosen by an attacker.

A malicious merchant can provide a BIP70 payment request in the form of a QR code or text, which the victim user would then scan or copy-paste, as part of the payment flow. Electrum would then see the file URI, and try to open the file in read mode and read it. If the read succeeds, the data is parsed using protobuf.

Specifically regarding the QR code vector, note that Electrum starts the BIP70 flow as soon as a QR code is scanned, without giving a chance to the user to review the content of the decoded QR code.

The file URI support was originally added for local dev testing, with the implicit assumption that it is safe to open files on the local filesystem in read-only mode. This assumption is incorrect.

On Linux/macOS, e.g. trying to read /dev/zero results in a DOS attack, where the application would run out-of-memory and get killed.

On Windows, paths can be crafted that correspond to network requests, for example initiating an SMB connection. In particular, it seems that it might be possible for an attacker located in the same "trusted" Local Area Network as the victim, after getting the victim to scan a malicious QR code, to have the victim's computer initiate a same-LAN SMB connection to the attacker's computer, and to capture an authentication token. That authentication token could later be used to initiate an offline brute-force attack against the user's Windows account password.

Patches
We have removed the file URI support in commit b247aa5ffef0f9ef000772fcf9cd9c7141abded8.
Electrum version 4.2.2 contains the fix.

Edit: But, I did not see the negative tag showing on your profile, I do not see any reason you are so bothered about this yet.
That's because your trust list, perhaps you're included many users who distrust Timelord2067, if you check on BPIP Timelord2067 is a DT2 with 0 power. So the negative feedback will appeared on the trusted feedback.

That's correct.  If you want to see what Gencecikmen's trust looks like with default trust settings just add ";dt" to the end of the url for his profile like so:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3377868;dt
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=3377868;dt

Any page on the forum can be modified this way.  Adding ";dt" will display the page as if you had default trust settings.

I agree that this seems like harsh feedback.  I think Timelord2067 might have made a mistake.  The reference shows that the campaign was open when Gencecikmen made that post, and another member who didn't get tagged made an application just a few minutes later.  Hopefully Timelord2067 will see this and remove that feedback.

Currently the Celtics are up 15 near halftime.

Hey now, the Warriors just closed the gap to 10 a minute ago.  I got small money Golden State!

I'm generally not an NBA fan, but I can't help but get drawn into the hype with the Warriors are in the finals.  Anyway, it looks like they're going down 2-1 in the series tonight.  Hopefully they're in better shape Friday after having a few more days to acclimate to jetlag.  as if jetlag affects them youngsters like it does grouchy old farts like me.  Lets face it, they were just out partying in Boston, which is a great city in which to party. Just wondering why he had to abandon his old account only to continue from where he left through the new alt account. He very well knows that his posting and quoting style alone is unique and can easily be reorganized by a person who barely interacted with him, like me  Cheesy

Probably because he had a mental breakdown and left in a hissy fit with much butthurt.  The internet makes it easy to be an armchair psychoanalyst and my armature prognosis is that nullius suffers from schizophrenic multiple personality disorder.  I feel he's quite gifted in technical terms and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he's actually been here all along, playing nice and sticking to technical discussions.  Recently he must have felt the need to rekindle his patented nulliun vitriol, which is why I refer to death_wish as his "dark side" alt.

He never really bothered me that much, but he did react amusingly to my criticisms, which makes me want to dish out even more.  I can be an asshole like that.

Lol, your signature says you're here to kick ass, not kiss ass!  If it's a typo, then carry on.  If not, you're doing it wrong.
1454  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Excessive Elektrum Fees on: June 08, 2022, 06:52:40 PM
I believe the fee is paid for each 20 transactions which would make it $0.75 per tx for a very optional feature that people don't have to use and most users don't.
Right. The fee of 0.0005 BTC is paid for 20 transactions.
You can also pay 0.00125 for 100 transactions [Ref.]. In this way, the fee paid for each transaction would be only $0.375.

Even at $0.38 per transaction it's pretty darn expensive.  I guess for those who are not very technically savvy it's not too much to spend on security, but the same thing can be done for free.  A 2 of 2 (or 3) multisig wallet can accomplish the same thing for free.  One private key on a computer and another on a cell phone is essentially the same thing as a 2fa wallet with TrustedCoin as the second signer.
1455  Economy / Reputation / Re: RichGang and dragonmega gambling site accusation on: June 08, 2022, 06:43:57 PM
About a year ago (or so) there were tons of accusations against Sportsbet.io that many felt were unjustified, but those accusations got plenty of support from reputable members here on the site.  I defended Sportsbet because I didn't see any evidence of scamming, but some members decided to remove me from their trust inclusions, and one even added me to his exclusions as a result.

The main difference here is that I have a lot of experience with Sportsbet and none with Stake or Prime Dice.  I tend to agree with those who are supporting Stake in this case, I don't see nearly enough evidence to suggest they're scamming RichGang.  What I do see is this gem of a comment:

1. They do not give you loss back.

Lol, what casino does give you back your losses?  They're in the business of collecting people's losses, that's how they make money.  What in god's name would cause anyone to think he's entitled to recouping his losses?  No one forced him to wager those funds!  It seems rather obvious that RichGang is just trolling in an attempt to shame Stake into giving him his money back.  Much like the slew of accusations against Sportsbet in the past.  Anyway, that's off topic, I know, but I only bring up to make my next point:

These are very touchy subjects, and picking a side is often a lose - lose scenario.  You're going to piss someone off, whether it's anti-Stake people, or it's the pro casino people.  The ones with the strongest opinions usually already had their minds made up in one way or the other about the casino in question, or casinos in general.  As for tagging dragonmega, I don't think that's a good idea.  A red-tag for a difference of opinion is not a good use of the trust system.

The .xyz site has fallen from it's perch atop google's search results.  The fake "dark net" site has claimed that spot.  Still no sign of chipmixer.com on the front page, but at least chipmixer's profile here on the forum is now the 4th result.  That's an improvement.

My accountant wanted  me to have a separate account here if and when I sell gear this year.

Well, I reckon your accountant knows way more about your tax situation than I do.  I'm just going by my (meager) knowledge of California LLC laws.  I had one some years ago when I owned a gun-shop.  The LLC and the gunshop had different names (one was a DBA,) and I made a bunch of on-line sales on GunBroker with my personal account.  Of course firearms are tracked by serial numbers so if there was ever an issue (there wasn't) I could have used my bound-book to retrace personal vs. business sales.

My 1 merit to  my alt is allowed and If you go back and look I specifically discussed it when merits were started.

I'm sure it's fine, I don't think anyone here believes you're trying to cheat.  If it's for posting photos and such, you can always buy a copper membership.  That will allow you to have the same signature as a "Member" rank (IIRC) and post photos.  Here's the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote
1460  Economy / Reputation / Re: Meriting Your Alt is no more Merit Abuse? on: June 07, 2022, 08:41:35 PM
So I formed an LLC and I want to be able to show the USA government  that I exist as an LLC. This means I do not want to do all my posts here as philipma1957

Kind of off topic, so I'll be brief; I don't think that's necessary; you can have an LLC and a DBA (doing business as) at the same time, and they don't need to named identically.  As far the IRS is concerned they just want to make sure that you've accounted for (and paid tax on) all of the proceeds generated by your business.  If they see lots and lots of money flowing through your accounts that have not been disclosed on your tax forms, they start to get suspicious.  As long as you're paying taxes on the money that's claimed as taxable income, they don't care about much else.

I also would love to shut the cellphone and vacation  accounts down as I can't access them anyway.

There's no way to delete or remove those accounts, and if you don't have the login credentials any longer then they are effectively shutdown.  If you're concerned that someone may be able to hack the accounts at some point, it may be a good idea to use your philipma1957 account to tag them with a neutral or even a red tag to warn others that they were your accounts and aren't being use any longer.

ETA:  To this point: You can ask theymos to lock the accounts to prevent any login.  If I'm not mistaken he's done this before.
